The hpi engine has 2 fuel pumps, one in the tank and one at the engine end. These are covered in the Haynes manual. There were some posts not too long ago on the fuel pump but I can not remember the details so a search will find them.

A similar method to bleed the system after refilling using external pressure is mentioned in the Haynes C5 manual but using something such as Gunsons easy bleed.

If it is the same as the Peugeot 806, ETAI do one, it is in French but with a dictionary (or on-line) you should be ok. They can be bought direct from the ETAI web site and sometimes Amazon's French site.

Have a look on the I.C.E subforum, if not already seen, there is a post on fitting aftermarket radios to the C3. Haynes wiring diagrams show the cig lighter and accessory sockets still take their supply through the BSI so you may not gain anything here.

If it is a needle type of gauge then maybe it just needs the needle repositioning on its spindle. I am not sure how this is done though.

We have the 1.6hdi (110 hp) engine in our C4 (about 40k miles now) and have no bother getting 60 mpg on motorways but on the short trips round town it gives about 40 mpg. Diesel is about 4p/litre dearer than petrol so if making only a cost comparison this is worth about 1 mpg extra with the diesel than the petrol for the same cost over the same number of miles.

Have you replaced parts in both sides of the car ? When I had a knocking on the C3, I replaced the drop link on the side where the noise appeared to come from but it did not go until the link on the other side was replaced. I guess you have checked for loose bits/objects inside the car.

Unfortunately Haynes manuals only seem to be available as printed copies. Most car accessory shops sell them for about £18 plus they are sometimes in libraries.

The only time I have had the engine management light come on was when a fuel injector failed after heavy rain. The car (2003 1.4sx petrol) then only ran on 3 cylinders and was only cured by replacement of the injector. You may end up having to pay for diagnostic work since there are many things that could be replaced before finding the actual fault. However, some things to look for could include an air leak, split hose on the air inlet to the manifold, clean the throttle plate area, a problem with the idle stepper motor fastened to the throttle body such as loose connection/bad wiring (this sets the idle speed), any other loose connections, check if any servicing is due such as air filter and spark plug replacement. You may find the Haynes manual will help.

What model/engine is your C3 and which sensor was replaced ?

Haynes says front left, rear right, rear left, front right. The French RTA (ETAI) manual gives front left, front right, rear left, rear right. But if there is air in the ABS modulator you need the dealer diagnostic tool to bleed this.

When I have had whining noises from the car when moving, they have been wheel bearing wear and also gearbox bearing wear. The noise level can vary when accelerating/in different gears if gearbox and when turning if wheel. If a gearbox, it may not get worse but on one I left it too long to replace the bearings (on output shaft) to the extent that the shaft could move about 1/4 inch and was jumping out of gear, plus it also damaged a gear. You can get bearings from a bearing shop but the costs can add up so often a second hand box is cheaper/less time also and if using the secondhand route there is no real benefit in starting any repairs until your box has died. Plus you will also want to replace the clutch so more costs.

Does the handbook say this is possible ? On our C4 and mark 1 C5 it is not mentioned.

If interested in the mpg/distance travelled for a particular journey I will reset the trip computer by holding in the button on the end of the wiper stalk, although I guess you have done this and are not just seeing the previous owner's mpg. Also note that at the miles equivalent of 10k km (about 6700 miles) the trip computer does not go any higher and has to be reset anyway with the button.

You could look on eurocarparts web site but usually they are about £5 for most cars plus make sure it has a new gasket. If you do not collect all the anti freeze that you drain out so it can be re-used, you will need some of that also. It is usually changed every 2 years anyway so it could be due for a change.

You can read/print the handbooks for recent cars on the service.citroen.com website as a private customer. Does not cover 2002 year but the one for 2007 will still be similar to your car.

A broken front coil spring is common (and could well be replaced by Citroen free of charge) and the washer fuse often will blow if the jets become frozen. If frosty, I would try a quick pull on the wiper arm for the washer and if water does not come out I will not try again until it is likely to have warmed up and melted since for more than a split second will cause the fuse to blow and it is a bit awkward to replace since the engine fuse box lid is not easy to remove.

Haynes shows 3 rubber mountings, each side and the back and to check if the rubber is in good condition, the bolts are ok and tight and to lever the mountings to see if there is excessive play.

Anyone Experienced Vibrating Of Steering Wheel On 2008 C5

Not too sure about the bad website idea, that way you are the bad guy in Citroen's eyes and unlikely to get anywhere, whereas with something like Watchdog, they do the work for you and Citroen (or whoever), come to you to help them put on a good show for their customers. -
afy, out of interest, what car have you got to replace the C5, I would guess it is not another one ?
-
Have a look at the engine mountings as a start in case they are worn out.

If you mean P2137 (a more normal format for a fault code - P followed by 4 numbers) then a google search gave this: P2137 EDC16C3 - Accelerator pedal 1, signal consistency with pedal 2 signal

Anyone Experienced Vibrating Of Steering Wheel On 2008 C5

We keep seeing on this forum that Citroen UK are not much use to their customers. If you ever see Watchdog on BBC the companies they complain about seem to provide rapid results - just a thought. Citroen would not want bad publicity for their flagship high priced new C5. We could do with something to lower the prices for when our mark 1 and 2s need replacing. -
Rather than a detachable, if you do not do much towing, go for a bolt on towball type, then if there is a problem with the sensors you can remove it and even later retrofit a detachable towball. I bought my towbar through towbars direct in Warrington but fit it myself which was not too difficult. I do not have reversing sensors though so can not comment on that.

Anyone Experienced Vibrating Of Steering Wheel On 2008 C5

If the drive belt has been removed for a test it suggests your car has a belt driven hydraulic pump and not an electric one - seeing if they will swap the car for another may be an option. By disconnecting the belt that effectively rules out a problem with the pump and steering rack plus these have been replaced. The only way the car then knows the steering is in use and maybe has to make some adjustments, is the steering angle sensor detecting the steering wheel is being moved. Things that have not been mentioned but I would imagine have been checked are any mountings for the rack and column and any bushes in the column. The dealer would also know if there have been any software updates.
