  1. Start checking all the earths on the car and the eart lead from the batter to the bodwork
  2. Hi and welcome to the forum. ok theyve replaced the ride hieght sensors and the spheres and its made no difference. Do you no if its had a steering rack leak and been replaced also does the steering feel ok. The reason im asking is because weve had 2 mk3.s in were the rack has been leaking (and yours is the right age for the rack leaks) and theyve had racks replaced by people who dont no citroens and they then top up the power steering with normal p/s/fluid and not lds fluid which then contaminates the suspension system and results in the suspension floating all over the place and pretty scary when turning a corner
  3. sound like the wiring loom to your injectors and sending wrong/intermitent /none information to the injectors. it will cause the cylinders to run lean/rich which the o2 sensor will pick up and try to alter the fuel being injected into the engine. it cant do it as the wiring loom wont alow it so on comes the engine light. I thinkthe battery was a unrelated fault and the recent cold snap has probally killed it off. The last one we done was around £60 for the new section off wiring plus the labour. once replaced the car will be fine
  4. It will be a dual mass. i would be pulling the egr valve out and either replace or clean it as it sounds like it sticking open a bit and it will affect the starting b
  5. If you check the service life of the citroen fuel filter to that of a cheaper version. the cheaper one wont last as long as the citroen one so budget for buying 2 filters and paying 2 loads of labour as this bio diesel from the pumps is giving fuel filters a hard time at the moment. Check your filler cap is not damaged and is the right one or that the magnet hasnt falling out. Join the citroen trade club and youl get further discount om them prices normally around 20%
  6. hello mosh. sorry to hear about the old girl dying. ebay it as spares or repairs and dont go a penny under 500 as its a relativly easy fix. and ive been under your car and no its in good condition and what youve had done to it. Yor new c5 has the canbus sytem on it so b4 fitting the sensor shut the bsi down properly and disconect the battery and if your lucky the ecu might find the new sensor and accept it without any trouble. make sure you wake the ecu up properley mind
  7. If your going for a mk3 then unless you get the exclusive model then you wont get the hydraulic suspension youl get springs and shockers. also if you get a auto then let the dealers change the gearbox oil once a year and the box will be fine. heres a few for you https://www.vcars.co.uk/used-cars/cardetails.php?t=clickdealer&u=94798 https://www.vcars.co.uk/used-cars/cardetails.php?t=clickdealer&u=94240 https://www.vcars.co.uk/used-cars/cardetails.php?t=mantles&u=227372
  8. Hello and welcome to the forum. before you go any further with your car can you post the fault codes on the site. If the garage you are using does a diagnostic on the car tell them to go to live data and see if the cam/crank syncranisation is swithing from yes to no constantley. weve done a few petrols were the crankshaft sensor goes tits up and sends the signal to the wrong injector to fire and gives the engine a misfire
  9. http://www.eurocarcare.net/ give these guys a ring. im sure it just bolts on and very easy to do. using a press will result in the aliminium housing snapping and thats from exprience
  10. what year is the car
  11. dont put any more fluid in as you dont know its that and you can burst your reservoir tank by over filling it. when the stop light comes on what does the center display say . there should be a bong then the stop light will come on then the display for the stereo will tell you what area the fault is in
  12. you need a power probe or multi meter to go any further. check you have power going to the brake switch and power comming out when pressed. if no power to either then youl have to pull each fuse out one at a time and test for continuity ( a visual look is no good anymore) till you find one thats blown. And speaking from experience itl be the last fuse you check no matter where you start
  13. it quite normal for the rear wash/wipe to operate when engaging reverse a lot of citroens are set up this way so i wouldnt worry to much about that. the washer motor is in the washer tank and to get to it you need to take the front bumper off
  14. ask the mechanic to check the engine mountings while hes on the job especialy the engine snubber mounting. when switching the enging off the car will be at a standstill so the wishbone bushes wont cause the jerking when swithing off. the snubber mounting will though and can cause jerking/juddering and banging when pulling off and braking
  15. please please keep up to date with the engine services or youl do the turbo in. the 1.6 hdi is noted for it. so id be changing the oil and filter a.s.a.p and put a flush throught the engine then use a good fully synthetic low saps oil. and welcome to the forum
  16. could be a fault with your headlight. without doing a diagnostic oin the car then people are just guessing. so its a diagnostic you need sorry
  17. you need to get the plugged in as it could be anything from lack of water to no oil. do your basic check oil, water tyres and brake fluid and if light still on then you will need a diagnosticon it
  18. simple is right the handles are all micro switches and not mechanical. like he say,s check the rubbers and wd40
  19. welcome back to the fold ha ha ha. by your name i take it your in the sunderland area
  20. sounds like youve lost the outer skin on the rear exhaust box. good news is it will still pass a mot if its not blowing and secure. bad news is that you know about it so itl be playing on your mind. if the outer skin is flapping around and making a noise then just cut the flap of metal off
  21. most cars now wont allow the fan to run unless the engine is running. it would just suck all the power out of the battery in no time at all
  22. never giving something like that much thought so dont realy know. maybe a trip to the parts department at your local dealers will tell you if any other colours available
  23. yep i posted the wrong link. sorry
  24. ive got 2 or 3 lying around and your more than welcome to one of them. you will however have to get them coded in to your car using lexia or a good diagnostic kit
