  1. if you have a leak off kit then use the pita tubes to see if the diesel is getting to the injectors.as you dont need the engine running with the tubes. before you buy a timing belt kit use live data and look for cam/crank synchranisation if it says yes then your timing is ok. this is how live data saves you money
  2. if you can lift the door up and down then its the center runner thats causing it. if you cant then its the top one. Unfortunetly u need to buy the whole unit. about £40 a unit the last time we bought one
  3. check the main earth leads from the battery to the bodywork. remove and clean if all ok the check the back of the ignition switch for burning
  4. yep that turbo will fit
  5. Think the reason most switch it off for is down to when a reporting valve goes wrong. They used to be quite expensive to replace so people just deactivated the system.
  6. have you checked the lds fluid level to make sure theres enough in to lift the car all the way up
  7. Hello and welcome to the forum. heres hoping you dont need any help. Smart looking van
  8. the only code there that could stop it starting is the fuel pressure sensor. But it only guess work at this stage. Codes wont help any vehicle that wont start it has to be live data as that will tell you the reason why. you need to get it put on live data and post the results
  9. is it a 8 or 16 valve engine
  10. were they bi directional or xenons
  11. Sound like a fuel issue but without diagnostic tools its all going to be trial and error. Might be worth paying for a mobil diagnostic to come and plug you in. If you do tell him you want a screenshot in live data while cranking the engine and also a list of codes. then post them on here
  12. google 1.6 turbo failure and understand what your up against. But if you stick to the service schedule and always give the engine a flush then the everything will be fine. the air trunking has been removed because they rattle really bad and the quickest fix is to throw them away. other than that there good little workers
  13. they wernt fitted till the mark 2 came outso got to be after 2009 and if its a exclusive it wont have them
  14. yes its canbus 2 .
  15. the 2.2 are proper workhorses if you look after them right. never miss a service and always add some lucas engine stabaliser to coat the cam/crank for protection when starting and use magnatec for that added bit of protection and the engine will run for hundreds of thoushands.
  16. theres more than two wires link the components together. without knowing the year im guessing yours is a canbus 2 system because its got the 1.6 hdi in it (please let us know the year ). the canbus 2 is a very huffy and easily upset system have you recenty added a stereo/phone/usb port etc etc or anything else or have you been working on any electrics or any other work on the vehicle
  17. have you got any pics of the restore and were you sourced the parts from please. and welcome to the forum
  18. if you havnt done one b 4 then i wouldnt. if you done them before then just pin the engine or put your own markings on it to . its a straight forward job
  19. clear the codes and plug it back in and see what codes are there. what scanner are you using
  20. . For a none start its not codes you need its live data. tell the garage to check the cam/crank and fuel pressure in live data
  21. Your post says you took a short one out (as reversing lights wernt working) and tried a long one in that jammed the gears. Why dont you put a new short one in and the gears wont jam and your reversing light should work with a new switch if the old one was broken
  22. just put the cartridge in the turbo you have and the jobs a goodun
  23. sounds like youve already had another turbo fitted
