Hi just a couple of thing. Assuming you have checked all fuses and wiring and checked the power going into the aircon pump itself with a power probe/tester Plug the snap on back in and go to acuator tests or special function and test the low speed cooling fan (on the radiator) as this will stop the aircon. Has your model got the dual climate control

Are you using any engine coolant and as paul says this is the first time ive heard of this on a mk 3

Youl need to get the car plugged into a diagnostic machine to see whats wrong

When the garage checked the wheel bearings it sounds like they have checked for wear by the answer they have giving. Ask them to check to see if the bearings have gone dry and rumbling. There wont be any play on the bearings but they will have to spin them fast to hear which one it is

remove the subwoofer and put the car/wiring back to normall. then check every fuse in the car followed by a bsi reset and see if the car starts. If it doesnt start then you will need a diagnodtic to see why. Check the list on the forum there might be a member that can help you depending what area your in

yep the 1.4 is seriosly underated by some. but they dont half have some grunt when you put your foot down and are much more reliable than the 1.6 hdi

You need to get the engine fired up first then youl be able to alter things. so your priority is to see whats wrong with the imobiliser lexia will point you in the right direction

Hello and welcome to the forum. the key problem is it the black plastic part of the key that is broke (if so they are just a couple of pounds on ebay for a new case) and does it still lock the car The sound proofing would be a dealer part as they are glued on and tear when removing them

Try jacking the back end of the car up with the engine running as sometimes they airlock

sounds like a imobiliser fault and depending on the year yours maybe a canbus system which means swapping bits over/replacing/around isnt as straight forward . but anyway if you plug your diagnostic back in and go to live data that will tell you why it wont start

Im assuming that its the rear fog lamp if so i would start by checking the earths and bulbs in the rear light cluster,
