If your going to chang one pipe your just aswell changing the lot on the rear and putting new fluid in. ery very very easy to do and very cheap (town center citroen - parts = ask for alan). Can send you a how to if your wanting to give it a go. Youd be suprissed the difference new lds fluid makes to the ride. People tend to forget abpout it and some fluid coulde be 13 years old

Basicly youl need all of it including the door locks

well paul is right and given time it will be part of the mot. The fap filter and cat are now a visual check for the mot. Soon when a new car is put on the road a copy of the ecu software will be stored a dvla along with the colour and chassis number. then come mot time the car will be plugged in via the obd port and a dvla database will check the software.

yes its inside that box that you can see.when weve removed the cover sometimes the wires are just corroded to hell and other times its the relays that just fall apart. If its the relays its a quick fix if its the wiring then youl need to replace the harness its not expensive just a bit fiddly. its easier to remove the front bumper and grill which gives you loads of space to work on it and leaves the radiator and fan and wires in place. And if memory is working i think its the top green relay that goes

When you leave it parked up keep the wheels straight and it wont do it. by leaving the wheels at a angle you put a strain on the anti roll bar and this pulls on the ride hieght adjuster and causes it. Mind its good for a laugh in a car parkc

Failed Mot On Leaking Rear Sphere Suspension
coastline taxis replied to joemac666's topic in C5 - Technical
Its not the seals as such that leak it the aliminium lip around the seal that fails and the fluid gets past it. Jack and prop up the rear of the car. Remove wheel ( Just to let a bit more light in) Depressurise the hydraulic suspension a diagnostic tool is required for this. If you dont have a Diagnostic tool then there is a bleed nipple next to the ride height adjuster. Put a pipe over the nipple and crack the nipple open till the fluid starts to come out. remember its under pressure so just a little bit or youl end up covered in fluid.Wait until all fluid is out. So starting from the rear of the shocker (sphere end) Remove sphere (spere removal tool or oil filter strap required) Undo the suspension pipe its the one that goes to the rear shocker !3mm Now remove the 2 black plastic pipes that go into the rubber gaitor they just pull out. Noe remove the 2 torx bolts ( t20 or 25) that hold the shocker onto the axle pay atention to which way the metal colar comes out as it needs to go back the same way Now go to the end of the rubber gaitor and youl see a r clip this is supposed to just pulls out can sometimes be a bit of a pig so get plenty wd into it. Once the clip is out the piece of metal that it secures need to be removed. Again this is sometimes a right pain but twisting with mole grips and tapping with a hammer will bring it out. Tap the shocker lightly with a hammer and it should break away if not then tap it harder. Fitting is the reversal of the above. To repessurize the suspension system. Make sure the bleed nipple is tightened up take car of stand and let it sit on the ground you probally wont be able to get the jack out at this stage fill resevoir with lds fluid and start the engine and let it idle and youl hear the pump working and the car will lift itself up. give the suspension a good work out with the hieght adjuster button. check fluid. Tools required Axle stands Jack pliers/molegrips Sphere removal tool or device T20 or t25 male torx bit Diagnostic tool or tubing and a 10mm socket or spanner 2 litres of lds fluid -
Half The Electrics Have Stopped Working!

Did any of them plug a diagnostic tool in and see what codes are present -
start by Checking your brake light switch as this activates the park lock. then lift the cover of the gear lever and check for any muck or anything that shouldnt be in there also a good squirt of electrical cleaner wouldnt do any harm

oooh this is going to be a hard one with not being at the vehicle. Ok when you say that you reprogramed the key do you mean by resycning it by holding the lock button down or actually reprograming it with the 4 digit code. The p1517 is a coded anti start operation which means that the key isnt talking to the imobiliser. Tell the fitter to use the solus and go in via a peugeot 306/406 same year and engine and hell be able to get into the bsi codes that way as all your getting at the minute is the engine ecu codes. He wants to be looking to see if the bsi is comunicating with the com unit.( As i think youve got a comm unit problem as youve changed every thing including the transponder ariel but that goes into the comm unit ) If youve still got the donor car take the comm unit of that and put it on yours as the tranponder ariel relays the code to the bsi via the comm unit. Is it a bosch ecu you have if so did the numbers match and has it got 3 or just 1 multiplug for the ecu

youl need a diagnostic tool call lexia to do this. even then though its no gaurantee as your stereo whilst working still might not be compatable

There is no fuse as such to power the starter motor its a direct feed from the battery it does however have a solenoid to stop the power being permenent and the fuse for the solenoid will be around the 20 to 30 amp range and wont be a maxi fuse

if the fan is knackerd itl be the bushes ( As there really is nothing else in there to fail) and any auto electrition can supply and change for £30ish pounds

Youl blow the turbo on a 1.6 doing this

Ok ESP stands for electronic stability program so the cars telling you theres a electrical fault. Dont worry about your windows/wipers etcetc thats the economy mode that is doing that and as soon as the engine is started then these faults will go away. Your never going to sort this out unless you put it on a diagnostic machine as it could be anything. so thats what you have to do next also have you got fuel in it

Failed Mot On Leaking Rear Sphere Suspension
coastline taxis replied to joemac666's topic in C5 - Technical
Your better of buying another rear shocker you can reuse your sphere. new around the £100 to £150 scrappy £30 to £40. But whatever you do dont ever ever go underneath and do any work without putting the car on axle stands -
You really need the diagnostic tool to solve it . but anyway there was a problem with the relays on the cooling fan corroding there next to the radiator on the suport panel under a black cover. Disconect the fan and take a live to it and see if it spins other thing to check is the engine temperature gauge although the command for aircon should overide this. What area are you in as there are members on here that will help free

You playing with fire chipping a 1.6 hdi. By there design they kill turbos and by fitting your chip your going to take the turbo way over its range. Think carefully about what your doing google 1.6hdi turbo failure and read before you try

Try to keep away from the auto boxes. dont get me wrong there great for round the town but they are really expensive to put right when they go wrong and you are very limited to where you can get them repaired.
