  1. I noticed how accurate the speedo was, matched the GPS perfectly. I have a 2.0tdci Mondeo at the moment while I await my Jetta and the speedo is about 6-7mph slower than the speedo indicates at 75mph
  2. I agree, 180bhp for a front wheel drive car is ample. I recently drove an Astra VXR with over 300bhp, nothing but torque steer...pointless
  3. Mine was oriental blue and I chose it without seeing another as the car had not been launched when I ordered. If I were to choose another I'd get a VTS Coupe in white with graphite wheels
  4. Looks crap to me, just forced air induction. Hardly a supercharger!
  5. Do you need to? Surely if you increase the diameter of the wheel you decrease the profile of the tyre and as such you have the same rolling radius?
  6. I doubt the steering will get that much heavier with bigger wheels/tyres, not enough to need to modify the power steering anyhow unless you are Mr Muscle
  7. I had my original Michelins replaced at 35k with Pirellis which only lasted about 20k. Try.. http://www.blackcircles.com/ they are usually pretty cheap
  8. You are tall, do you sit on the back seat to drive?!
  9. I would have thought that the smaller the wheel the better the handling. That certainly goes for the VX220. Obviously the larger the wheel you go for the lower the profile tyre and therefore a harsher ride and a greater chance of tramlining. You may find that putting larger wheels will shorten the life of your wheel bearings
  10. Got a brand new and unused pack of 3 air fresheners, Menthe Musc, Fleur de Vanille and Yland Bambou? drop me a pm if you are interested
  11. I have to say that I chose the red as I liked the red of the C4 so much and wished I had ordered mine in that colour. Jetta isn't the most exciting car but should be comfortable and have bullet proof reliability
  12. I have ordered a 1.9tdi S in Red Spice with Parking Sensors and Arm rest with ipod connection and a couple of other bits. Looks a little like this, although not seen one in this colour as there appear to be only 3 for sale in the UK....
  13. I am told that my Jetta was ordered yesterday and 'cause I ordered an unusual colour and a few options it's going to take at least 12 weeks to arrive. Therefore my new employer will be giving me a hire car, fingers crossed it is something respectable.
  14. Just wait til it gets to 62k like mine. Sounds like a tractor and bits rattle and knock everywhere oh and some trim has fallen off the boot.
  15. I don't get a massive choice. In my bracket is the Jetta/Golf/Golf Plus or I can downgrade and take a Mini Cooper and they'll give me some cash. Alternatively I can put some of my own money in and get an A3 or Passat but don't see any point in spending money on a company car. Ultimately whatever it is will be free along with all fuel :P
  16. Thanks, probably going to choose a Jetta tdi as it is better specced than the equivalent golf.
  17. Just accepted a new job, starting on the 11th June and with it comes a new car. Afraid to say that I won't miss the C4 as it still isn't perfect and have given up trying to get the problems sorted. Unfortunately it just means that someone else in the Company will inherit it.
  18. I don't think I have ever managed 700miles on a tank. My 92bhp Hdi is getting 50mpg on average
  19. Must be a petrol thing or how you guys drive as my clutch is still fine on 60k
  20. I've had my C4 since Feb 05 and the battery is still fine. Does the battery re-charge inductively through the steering column when the key is in the ignition?
  21. I do feel a drop in power on my 1.6hdi with the aircon on, but as I don't pay for the car or the fuel I have it on most of the time.
  22. This is probably because they know they won't get authority to replace them from the lease company until the tyres are knackered. The company I work for also has a contract with Kwikfit and officially we are only allowed crappy tyres, however Kwikfit are always more than willing to be conveniently out of stock of everything apart from Michelins if I ask them nicely.
  23. Catch a load of this... http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.p...mp;pagenumber=1
  24. I always have and always will have the newest rubber put on the front. If you are braking you want the best grip at the front and as such the newest tyres, no one in their right mind would put the newest tyres on the rear.
