  1. Me too, I bought 6 from ebay in Feb 05 for £6, still got 2 left as I hardly use them
  2. After a week of driving my 1.2 Micra loan car I am glad to have my C4 back with its shiny new bumper and wing and all courtesy of the other chap's insurance. Perfect timing as the bumper had been destroyed by 60,000miles of stone chips and all for the sum of £730+VAT.
  3. Get an MX5, you can't go wrong. The K-series in the MGF is prone to head gasket failure, same with the Elise.
  4. Plenty of heavy braking will warp them. I warped mine on my C4.
  5. This would be fine, if I didn't do loads of motorway miles. Filled up with £35 of petrol yesterday which I had to pay for and claim back as my fuel card only allows diesel, did about 260 miles in it today and need to fill up again. On the plus side it does have a rest for your clutch foot, on the negative side you need to change gear so often you never get to use it. Pedals are excellent for heal and toe though!
  6. Thanks, but I can't be bothered to step foot in a Citroen dealer if I don't really have to. At the moment I am stuck with a 56plate 1.2 Micra for 10 days while my C4 is in the bodyshop.
  7. My rear doors have done the same and after nearly 2.5 years of opening and closing them has caused the paint to wear away in a couple of spots. Perhaps it only happens on the early cars, mine being a 54 plate
  8. If you want photos of the Eurofighter, a friend of the family is the chief test pilot involved in the development. He was on that "Speed" programme with Jeremy Clarkson a few years ago.
  9. Was flashed at waved at by a chap in an oriental blue C4 of some description in Tottenham today. I smiled back, but wasn't as excited to see him as he was me.
  10. unplasticised?
  11. Mine is becoming less economical and now only acheiving 49mpg as opposed to 54mpg when it was on 20k miles. Car is currently on 57,000miles
  12. My wing bent all the way in as the merc managed to scrape the wheel. When the merc moved forwards the wing re-formed leaving just a few scrapes and a slightly misaligned bumper.
  13. I think my car was saved from further damage by the inch of dirt all over it
  14. I was reversed into by a man. I'll let you know the cost of the repair as it goes in on Weds
  15. This is exactly what happened to me on Monday, albeit the drivers side. Only apparent damage is scratches on bumper, wing and wheel and the wheel arch liner is loose as the pins have snapped.
  16. Booked into the bodyshop on Wednesday. Looking forward to getting my courtesy Nissan Micra or similarly exciting car.
  17. Not bad going, managed to do almost 57k with no damage, other than hitting a pheasant. Drove into the Morrisons multi-storey carpark which my company rents the top floor of. Was sitting in a queue on the ground floor minding my own business when I spot the R reg e-class to my right reversing, sounded the horn but the egit was oblivious to it and drove straight into my offside wing, bent it all the way in and scratched the wheel and bumper too. The wing popped itself out but looks fairly scratched and the car makes a strange sound when reversing. The chap who I presume was a bus driver as he was wearing an "arriva" fleece kindly told me it'd polish out! I asked for insurance details and ID, conveniently neither of which he had so took numerous photos of him and his car. I'm hunching that he is one of the many uninsured drivers in Wood Green, fortunately the car will be repaired regardless and won't cost me a thing. Do people not look behind them these days when reversing....apparently not. More worryingly how can he be responsible for driving a bus?!!
  18. The key does need to be turned otherwise the car will be in economy mode and no electrics work. Unless of course you have been driving and then remove the key in which case the wipers will sweep a few times before the electrics shut down. I wasn't blaming the C4 if you read my post
  19. Put key in and turn to postion 2, then press down on the wiper stalk. The wipers will stop in the vertical position, you can then lift them up.
  20. Personally I think they should sort out the reliability, build quality and customer service before they start trying to make quicker cars.
  21. You might buy one but most people wouldn't. I don't see that many Hot Meganes and I do circa 40k miles a year. Amazed that Peugeot still bother making that 3.0V6 they didn't sell many in the 406 guise as it was too expensive and thirsty. They ought to make some more interesting diesels.
  22. The downer I have on the C4 is only brought about by the fact that it has been extremely poor. Yes the arm had become damaged by someone as there is also some paint missing from the bonnet where the wiper has been bent upwards. No idea how much it cost to replace, but I do know the blade was £26+VAT which seems rather steep. Thankfully the lease company picks up the bill.
  23. Thanks for that! I am meant to be doing around 400miles tomorrow. Worst comes to the worst and the dealer doesn't have another arm, I'll get a hire car through the lease company just another major inconvenience.
  24. Driving home this evening, gave the screen a wash and heard a nasty scraping noise from the left wiper. The second sweep saw half the left arm and blade disappear into the darkness. Got home to see the arm has snapped in half, lets hope it doesn't rain tomorrow and my local stealer can replace it before my 11am meeting in Portsmouth!
  25. rub it between your fingers, you'll be able to feel the difference between water from the aircon or coolant etc
