  1. I think the 75-horse version replaces the old agricultural but reliable 1.9D plant. The 110 would have been a stormer. Even Fiat are supplying the Droblo with a 110bhp diesel choice, so Citroen should get their act together!
  2. Yeah, it's a 92! I agree about the torque from standstill, but from 60-80mph on the m-way in top it's nowhere near as good. On the plus side it's so much quieter! TronX
  3. yeah, all's good here, Mr.Pie.... It's Cheltenham mind ! Glad to see you back on the board Can't help thinking I should have kept the 2.0 HDi 'Lingo instead of upgrading to the new 1.6.... Great fuel sippin' but not got the torque. I changed to a set of Barum Bravuris on the advice of Auto-Express at one point, but they lasted five minutes! At least the Contis lasted fifteen. I think Barum were a former Commie firm (Czech?... I seem to recall those shite old arse end engined Skodas having them) now owned by Continental. Keep on rollin' TronX
  4. Contis are great, but they don't last as long as Michies! Hi there pork_pie.... Long time no see! What's that? A BMW? How you like?.... Better than my MINI I hope!

    Abs

I'm basing it purely on practical experience. The non ABS brakes on my mate's W-reg Mk1 3-door diesel are better than those on my '05 1.6HDi too......
  6. I think I've scared them off! TronX B)

    Abs

The brakes in a non-ABS equippped 'Lingo are far more efficient in everyday use than in those with ABS. Poor braking is one of my few gripes with the car, and one that dragged the overall result down in the Auto Excess Driver Power survey. My early non-ABS 1.8i 3-door had brakes that would stop a train. On balance though, ABS is a useful thing to have around these parts, what with single-track country roads 'n all.
  8. When the station has been memorised , you'll hear either a little 'beep' or a momentary pause in reception, depending on the unit and version fitted.
  9. Then you might as well buy an Olive Green Forte and bling it up yourself!!
  10. None of the reviews above, nor the Citroen France description are of the UK model though, but of last year's 2.0HDi Euro model, which gets limited slip diff, leather steering wheel and air-con. I'm not even sure we'll get the limited slip diff. I reckon it'll be more of a Pug Partner "Escapade" competitor with maybe a raised ride height and decals, based on the Forte. No good for me because I'm sure they'll not include the opening roof as an option either.
  11. Windows shouldn't make any difference, but you'l get the "3 beeps warning" (depending on software version) if: Your seatbelt isn't fastened A door/boot is open There is less than 10 litres of fuel in the tank Cheers f'Now! TronX
  12. "Which?" is shyte. Full stop. I've never again trusted the 'consumer' magazine since it did a test of 20-odd CD players in 1989 stating that "since they all sound very similar, we've concentrated on convenience of use and features". They also rated the 2CV as being less safe than a Lada.... Ignoring the predictable (if jaunty) safe handling of a 2CV and the rear-wheel drive oversteer that the tank-like Lada displayed at any given opportunity. What toss. TronX
  13. Ditch the 'stuff'. Garages are for cars!
  14. Iron Grey is gorgeous, but shows up minor shopping trolley dings like anything. That's why I stuck with Mediterranean Blue.
  15. 5,500 ! ... So it's probably run in by now!
  16. Hmm.... Not sure it is. I am certainly impressed with the smoothness and economy improvement, but I'm wondering if the new 1.6 unit is less torquey. I seem to have to do far more gear changing in the new car. Generally pleased with it though.
  17. I traded mine in at 24 months old with 56,000 miles and got 6.5k for it.
  18. Michelins will last longer than *all* of the others, so they're actually the cheapest in the long run. They're also not bad for rolling resistance, good on dry grip, but less good in the wet. blackcircles.com are great on price. Don't fit cheap tyres!
  19. Er.. Let's call the whole thing off... I always say "Multi - Spass" because it reminds me of the incredibly sexy (in that film only) Milla Jovovic in 'The Fifth Element". ;-)
  20. Bar-stewards!
  21. Eh? Is this a leather cover or a leather wheel as fitted to the XTR version? If so, how did you get it?
  22. Not sure...... Don't think so. Just completed 1500 miles and getting about 5-600 miles before the yellow light comes on. Much better economy than the 2.0, which was pretty good itself!
  23. Yeah, I noticed the lighter clutch. Thought it was just that my old one was on the way out. Estorils suit the Med. blue really well I reckon. One thing that I noticed is that the brake lights don't illuminate until the pedal has started brake operation. I didn't like that much, so I had the servicing dealer adjust it at the 1,000 mile inspection. Worth checking yours! Enjoy!
  24. Mazeltov! I'm enjoying mine more and more. First service due next week!
