I see the Citroen UK website is now giving future values for Pluriel. Spend £13,795 on a 1.6 Sensodrive with a £2,000 deposit and after 2 years and 18000 miles the car will be worth... £5,162 after 3 years and 27000 miles it is worth... £3,641 So Citroen believe the Pluriel depreciates by £10,000 (about 72.5%) over 3 years :o :D :o Ian Orange 03 Senso

Seat trim has now been replaced, the work was carried out at the beginning of Feb and took about 30 mins despite an original booking by the dealer to have the car for a day :D Ian Orange 03 Senso

I have had the key fob not work and had to use the key to unlock the car. When I tried my spare fob it seemed to work OK. So I then tried the original and it seemed to work. The locking sequence did seem to go out of whack (had to push the unlock/lock more than once for it to work) until I had locked and unlocked the car a couple of times with the original key fob. It seems as with most computers when they crash (for whatever reason) you just have to reset or reboot :D Ian Orange 03 Senso

Coming up for 12 months and about 14,000 miles with my Sensodrive. Took me about 6 months to change my driving style (probably as I have only driven cars with manual clutches until this one). Now I am used to it things are fine, I do sometimes get passengers asking what the 'clicking' sound is. I have to tell them it is me changing gear with the paddles :D Had one scary moment on a slippery cold morning when the car switched to snow mode just as I was about to pull onto a roundabout. But apart from that the system seems to work quite well. In terms of economy the best I have managed is 390 miles from about 41 litres (9.018 gallons), around 43mpg, which is pretty good from a 1.6 engine. The trip computer told me I had done 47mpg. The 5 door C3 is 1440mm wide between the rear wheels, the Pluriel is 1431mm. The internal dimension for the rear seats is 1402mm for the C3 and 1330mm for the Pluriel. So you have an extra 72mm for bum space in back of the the C3. The C3 allows 467mm per rear seat passenger and the Pluriel 665mm so I guess it depends how cosy you want to be with your fellow passengers. Ian Orange 03 Senso

What would be really useful is a list of all of the software modules a C3 uses, a way to find out which ones your particular vehicle has installed and what the latest revisions for each module are. Just have to brush up on my MS DOS commands I suppose....DIR/P Ian Orange Senso 03

According to Citroen's UK website the only C3 in the range not to have a Multi-function on-board trip computer is the XTR, all others; L, LX, Desire, SX, Stop & Start and the Exclusive have that feature as standard. The XTR also seems to be missing these features that the rest ofthe range has: Automatic door locking (when car in motion) Automatic re-locking after 30 seconds (when using the plip - if the doors and boot remain unopened) Child lock indicator and dashboard mounted child locks control 'Guide me home' headlamps which can be selected to stay on 60 seconds after ignition is switched off High level third brake light (I thought all cars had to have these by law???) Not that Citroen litertautre is anything to go by. Ian Orange 03 Senso

All Citroen dealers seem VERY cagey about letting you know what work has been done on your car. I asked mine for some paperwork so that I could build up a log for when the car is sold on. They just said the new owner could go into any Citroen dealer and they would look the car up on their computer to see the work done. Not very satisfactory unless you are not trading the car in at a Citroen dealers. Ian Orange 03 Senso

Why don't they put that on the spec sheet!!! Ian Orange 03 Senso

Call from the garage today... The part we ordered for you (in November) is not in yet, Citroen gave us a date of 8th Dec. We will call you when we have a new delivery date. Maybe this is a ploy by Citroen to keep owners in touch with their local dealer...always have something to talk to them about  Ian Orange 03 Senso

What a load of BS (from the dealer that is) 1) If they ONLY come in packs of 10 how is it possible to be sent just 1 2) Why on earth would you pack them in multiples of 10 when 1 engine requires 4, you would have to order 2 packs of 10 to use them all up or be left with 2 spare. Not very cost effective. 3) They can apologise till the cows come home, it still doesn't give you the car you purchased fit for it's purpose. It seems to me that where a 2 year warranty used tp be a nice add on with a new Citroen a 3 year warranty is ESSENTIAL. I have no idea how any Citroen that has no warranty can be of any value as they seem to be money pits. Ian Orange 03 Senso

They must have more than one HDI engine car in the showroom, why don't they just take some parts from one of those to use on your car. Anyone trying to offer best customer service would. But then again anyone offering best customer service would order the correct parts in the 1st place. I would probably demand to be given the Directors car until mine was working, I bet they don't order the wrong parts for that...or maybe they are soooo incompetent they do! You can also try all the motoring magazines...Top Gear, Auto Express, Auto Car etc etc then you have the consumer programs like Watchdog. Ian Orange 03 Senso

You are correct, but if the fuel/air mix has been made more fuel rich (a trick some chipping companies use to give more power) things like idle revs may have changed as well as the power required to achieve a certain speed. Going up hill at 70MPH requires more grunt than coasting down hill at 70MPH. The software also controls variable valves or cams (not sure if the Citroen engine uses this trick) but in a Honda VTEC engine this totally changes power outputs and fuel consumption when revs reach the high end. Ian Orange 03 Senso

Someone should tell them about broadband :) I would hope the code is very small and efficient, maybe that's the reason nothing works, too many IF THEN statements to sift through!!! Better pull and worse MPG sounds like they have made the engine rev more, have you noticed higher revs for the same speeds? Ian Orange 03 Senso

errrr....I have seen nothing in my owners manual saying "Do not park or use your Pluriel near an airport". Does this mean you can never leave you Pluriel at the airport when you go off on holiday? So you go into a Citroen dealer ask to purchase a Pluriel and the dealer has to find out if you live near an airport to know if they should sell it to you. :) That has to be one for the..."They all do that" file <_< The usual reason for a battery to not hold it's charge is that it is not being charged in the 1st place, faulty altenator, or something is draining it. Either a short circuit or faulty eletrical item, alarm system, radio left on. The only other reason would be the chemicals in the battery are exhausted but that usually happens after about 3-5 years of use. Ian Orange 03 Senso

If you want to know what the official recalls are for any model of car you can look them up here http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp These are for safety related recalls required by UK law so the list does not include things like trim replacements. If you can find out which Citroen code has been used for this recall it would be helpful. Physical faults have X codes followed by letters whilst software upgrades seem to have X codes followed by numbers. Ian Orange 03 Senso

Tell them you now have no faith in any C3 model they can supply and want a new C4 instead :) Ian Orange 03 Senso

Glad to hear the Pug is working well Les :) Ian Orange 03 Senso

Any chance your obliging dealer would tell you the code for the upgrade they have done, either a software revision number or recall X code? At least that way we can all check how up to date our software is. Ian Orange 03 Senso

Had a passenger in my car the other day who said, "do you know your seat is cracked". The coloured seat insert on the back of the seat had cracked at the top so I was back at my Citroen dealer to book it in to be replaced. The service manager is getting to know me quite well now, anyway 2weeks to get the part and have it sprayed in the body colour and a day to fit it. I suppose they have to deactivate all of the air bag sensors so they can work on the seat without setting an airbag off. Thank goodness for the 3 year warranty Ian Orange 03 Senso

I seem to recall someone on this forum mentioning a battery upgrade being fitted (one with a higher rating was put in). I know my Pluriel battery warning light comes on after one cycle of opening and closing the roof and windows fully (so I always keep the engine running when doing this). I also recall that at the meeting we had, after playing plip alarm tag the battery warning light came on. I would say after about 10-20 mins of alarm activity your battery will be nearly flat. I also noticed the the central locking logic on my car got confused when I used the key instead of the plip. I had to do this when the plip seemed to stop working (happned about 3 times). But after cycling through unlocking and locking with the plip a couple of times the system was back to normal. The being locked in expert was Les who now no longer has his Pluriel, but ITV Westcountry news do have some footage of him being locked in the car. For about £35 you can buy a battery booster and jump leads from Halfords, if you keep these in the car you should always be able to start it (I know you shouldn't have to carry one around but at least you won't have to wait for the RAC). French diesels do have reputation for uneven front wheel tyre wear, I was informed when I owned a Pug 106 XRD. In fact at one point Peugeot had their own compound made, think it was for the 406's. You could tell it was a Pug tyre as it had a P after the usual codes. Must be the way the power is transmitted to the wheels, which you would think makes the car pull to one side. I would be weary of having non matching pairs of tyres as they are more likely to perform differently and so less likely to keep the car going where you want it. As has already been mentioned on the forum if you are anywhere near Hampshire give Micheledever a call http://www.micheldever.co.uk/ Very good prices, I got some Goodyear NCT5's from them a couple of years ago for about 60 quid each when everyone else was quoting 80 per corner. I appreciate that many of the soft functions do not have hardwire equivalents. I agree with you that any systems should enhance the cars safety whilst maximising driving pleasure. The upside of multiplexing is less wire and in theory less to go wrong. The downside is the car is able to fewer things simultaneously and it relies more heavily on a single point of failure, the central control unit. I have not driven a car with an electronic accelerator, but I have driven a car with cruise control that pulls the accelerator pedal away from your foot when it is engaged. This is a very strange feeling the first time it happens. Ian Orange 03 Senso
-
That is the question, what do YOU control and what do you just swtich and the computer decides if it will allow the car to do that? With multiplex wiring the car already decides which controls take priority over others. With traction control and the like the cars computers decide if it will go faster or brake when you press the accelerator. With SensoDrive the cars computers decide when the clutch is in and out... So, yes they can give you lots of buttons to press BUT how much do YOU control  Ian Orange 03 Senso
