  1. How long are the journeys you are making? (you need at least 10 - 15 mins of driving to get the car to warm up) My Pluriel always get to the halfway level, but in the winter when the external temperature is colder and the heater dial is set to the red zone it takes longer to get there. When you set the heater temp to the red zone your are adding more pipes and a 2nd radiator (the heater matrix) into the coolants path so the coolant has more time to cool down before it gets to the hot parts of the engine and it takes longer for it to heat up. 2. My Pluriel had this work done when I took it in for something else. But I did not get any notification that it needed doing, first I knew was when the garage called to find out where the locking bolts for the wheels were. I thought this was a strange request as they were replacing a boot lid trim  Only found out when I collected the car that they had done the cup replacement. Ian Orange 03 Senso
  3. Rear trim was replaced yesterday and a new rubber seal put around the bottom of the rear window. Where the rubber seal used to not quite reach across the bottom of the glass it now is U shaped and goes an inch or 2 up the sides, just have to see if this stops the water leaking through the boot release switch. While they were doing the trim replacement the dealer also performed a recall. This was the same as everyone else on the forum is reporting to replace the suspension end cups with metal ones instead of rubber. The official reason...in the rare event of a suspension failure a metal cup is more likely to prevent the suspension rod piercing a tyre. Ian Orange 03 Senso

Found this on the web http://www.carpages.co.uk/citroen/citroen-...&echo=922892549 http://www.seriouswheels.com/top-2005-Citr...VTR-SQ-Plus.htm http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-2005/2005-Citroen-C2-VTR-SQ-Plus-SA-1024x768.jpg And it costs just £108,000, how's that for Citroen value??? Ian Orange 03 Senso
  5. This is what the fault looks like, cracked plastic or paint failure...you decide. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ian.barnett53/Pluriel%20web/Pluriel%20pics/reartrim/crack3.jpg Ian Orange 03 Senso
  6. I have a Pluriel Senso, the clutch engaging is determined by more than 1 thing. Pedal positions, rotation speed of each wheel, engine revs and outside temperature. e.g. temp -3 deg c, wheels about to spin and foot full on loud pedal, the car will not engage the clutch until it has changed to 2nd gear and put the gearbox in snow mode! Saying that if you are talking about moving off from a standing start there is enough travel in the loud pedal on my Pluriel that I can control the clutch enough to hold the car on a hill with it (owners manual says you should NOT do this), you just have to be very gentle with the pressure you apply. I would go to any dealer and ask to test drive another Senso car see if it behaves in the same way as yours, then you will know for sure. Never had my Senso stall (touch wood) on me, but you do sometimes get kangeroo clutch and you can entice some wheel spin as well. 98% of the time the Senso is fine you just have to be aware that it can catch you out sometimes. 7. That's what I thought...paintwork problem...but the dealer says replacement part, as the plastic has cracked not the paintwork??? Ian Orange 03 Senso
  8. The strip on the back of my Pluriel (the bit with the word CITROEN on it and boot release button) appears to have bubbling up/cracking paint on it. Took it to the dealer who said it was cracked plastic, probably from getting too hot by being in the sun :D So now you know, the Pluriel is not a car to be left out when the sun shines! All being replaced under warranty (thank goodness for that warranty), due to be sorted 3rd Nov. Ian Orange 03 Senso
  9. I was reading a review of the Pluriel on this website http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/car-reviews/car-a...pluriel-63.html and noticed the following... Now I know my Pluriel has a space saver spare wheel, so I went to look at the specs on the Citroen UK website and was presented with this... Question, how many people have run flat tyres and how many have a spare wheel? Ian Orange 03 Senso
  10. A few years back I had a Pug 106 XRD and the same thing happened. At the time I was told that all Pug Diesels pulled more on one side and this made the tyre on that side wear more. Not sure if this was BS but I do know at one point Peugeot had a special compound of rubber made specifically for the 406 which had thicker side walls. I was told this be a tyre reseller who had purchased a batch of the tyres marked with an extra P (for Pug) in the coding. So it maybe that Citroen/Peugeot diesels still have this design feature. 11. Not had this problem on a Berlingo but on cars where I have had the problem (soft tops) it is usually due to the drain holes in the bottom of the rubber door seal getting clogged up or being squashed so they cannot function when the door is shut. It means the water you find in the footwells is actually coming in over the door sills as it cannot drain from the bottom of the doors. The MGF owners cure for this is to cut a 1/4 inch out of the bottom of the door seal. Fiat barchetta owners just unclog the holes. As for Pluriel owners they don't notice this tiny amount of water compared to all the other issues we have with the car :( (only joking). If the water were coming in through the side of the door (the bit the shower curtain protects) you should have damp patches on the inside door panels, which i suspect you don't, as these would have to be replaced. 12. I should hope so too... 1.4 Pluriel has 75bhp, a 2.0HDi Berlingo has 90bhp 0-60 of the Pluriel is quoted as 13.9s, whilst the Berlingo is 13.4s That's why I went for the 1.6 Pluriel (test drove the 1.4 and had trouble passing a milk float :o ) Ian Orange 03 Senso
  13. If you leave the drivers seat belt off you get a warning light on the dashboard. If you drive over 5mph with the belt still off you get a warning chime. The idea of this is that it is very annoying and you put the belt on. However, there are times when you may want to drive with the belt off (not on a public road of course) if you are manouvering around a car park for example. Simple way to turn off the chime, push the seat belt release button...silence. Why pushing a button that undoes the belt should cancel the warning I don't know, but it works. Ian Orange 03 Senso
  14. I thought the SensoDrive already had built in protection. If you are in manual mode and you try to change up with the revs too low it does not let you. If you red line the revs it will change up automatically not matter what mode you are in. I have had a passenger knock the gearstick and put the car into neutral whilst doing 70mph on a motorway, took me a couple of seconds to work out what had happened, but I am sure the car did not go into 1st when I pulled the plus paddle. Have to find a quiet street get to 30mph in 4th, put the car into neutral and then try to change up see how the software handles that. Maybe a better mod would be to not allow neutral to be selected at speeds over 10mph. Ian Orange 03 Senso

  16. Some radio's can switch between local and national traffic announcements it depends if you have EON (extended other networks) as a feature. This web page gives you more information about most of the RDS functions, of which traffic info is just one http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/factsheets/..._factsheet.html And this page tells you more about traffic info specifically http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rdsforum/message/681 Traffic announcements are actually triggered by someone at the radio station pushing a button, sometimes they forget to turn it off when the traffic news is finished and your radio stays tuned to that station. On some radios you can just switch back to what you were listening to by pushing the preset button for the original station, not sure if just pushing the CD button will take you straight back to hearing the CD. 17. I just used an end of roll/offcut of flooring vinyl from my local carpet shop for my Pluriel boot, cost under a tenner and I had some left to do the hall <_< Ian Orange 03 Senso
  18. I have owned a soft top with leather seats in the past and whilst it seems like a nice idea at the time, you try getting back into the car having left the roof down on a sunny day, when you are wearing shorts!!! Also the Exclusive is a 1.4 and I prefer the 1.6 engine, so I would probably stick with what I have. Ian Orange 03 Senso
  19. All this talk of Renaults made me go into one of their showrooms to look at a Megane (funny how the French gave this car a Welsh name :( ) CC. Dealer quoted me close to 18k for the CC which I found at various car supermarkets for just under 14k  but I was offered 6,600 for my Pluriel. The salesman could only offer me a 2 litre turbo to test drive (not the 1.6 I could afford) and would not let me have a drive with the roof down. He then asked me my reasons for not wanting to buy the car right then. Needless to say I won't be taking them up on their (not so generous) offer. As for my thoughts on the car, I found the central storage bin obstructed the gearlever and the "aircraft style" handbrake not very nice to use. Top of the windscreen was too close to my head and whilst the almost all glass roof did let in a lot of light I didn't seem to be sitting under it. Whilst the boot space was not too bad with the roof down it was practically impossible to actually get to anything trapped under the open roof. Ian Orange 03 Senso
  20. I test drove the 1.4 and 1.6 Pluriel before I got mine and found the 1.4 very sluggish on comparison to the 1.6. Remember Vauxhall produce the slowest accelerating sports coupe in the the world with the diesel version of the Tigra. 0-60 time 15.5 seconds top speed 104mph but you do get a claimed 61mpg. The car weighs 1190kg and has 70bhp. The 1.6 C3 weighs 1063kg and has 110bhp, 0-60 9.7 seconds top speed 119mph but only 43.5mpg. Ian Orange 03 Senso
  21. Went into a Citroen dealer today to find out the price of a Picasso Desire 1.6HDi book price just over 16,000 salesmans first price 15,145 salesmans best price 12,145 Trade in value (Glass's guide) of my June 03 Pluriel 5,500, pretty close to the Citroen GFV of 5,162 after 2 years. Interesting that the 1.6 (110bhp) diesel Picasso is more powerful than the 2.0 and it is insurance group 8, the Pluriel, a 1.6 petrol with a soft roof is only group 6. Ian Orange 03 Senso
  22. Are you getting brake squeal or is it some other noise? see this website http://www.c3pluriel.org.uk/ Look in the QUESTIONS section there are a couple of links to websites that discuss brake squeal. Ian Orange 03 Senso
  23. I always note the trip and total miles at every fill up, also the amount of fuel I put in the car. I do a lot of motorway miles and the trip computer shows between 40mpg (heavy right foot) and 44mpg (70 mph cruising). The "real" readings are, after 13,142 miles I have put 342.1 Gallons in the tank which equals 38.42mpg. From about 40 litres of fuel I get between 350 and 400 miles, very roughly 10 miles for every litre. Each bar on the fuel gauge gives about 60 miles until the last bar which I estimate goes out when the are about 100 miles left in the tank. Ian Orange 03 Senso
  24. Is there a difference in the emission standard The 1.4 being Euro III and the 1.6 being Euro IV? Ian Orange 03 Senso
  25. When putting the roof down you have to have the ignition on for the the release catch to work. In fact it is best to have the ignition on when performing most of the roof changes. There was another posting on the forum that recommends having the rear windows down when fitting/removing the plastic boot cover (arches on, roof in boot configuration) and this does help as you can reach around the arch to locate the cover.
