I would write a letter to the dealer telling them they have 3 weeks to fix the fault. If it is not repaired to your satisfaction before that date you will reject the car as unfit for purpose and dangerous (I would think a car that randomly cuts out can be classed as this.) and you would like a full refund. It is likely they will tell you this is not possible but you should stand your ground and maybe say you will accept a brand new replacement car instead of a refund. If you let them keep trying to repair it without writing your letter then your rights diminish with time. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Well like all surveys not very conclusive http://www.which.net/motoring/p10-15_car_safety.pdf They place the Doblo which does not have stability control as an option with an NCAP 3/1 stars (oocupant/pedestrain) 3 places higher in the rankings than the Lingo which can have optionsal ESP and gets 4/2 stars from NCAP. According to the latest Which? Magazine report a Pluriel is safer than a standard C3 http://www.which.net/motoring/p10-15_car_safety.pdf The Pluriel is 5th in the ranking whilst the C3 only comes 13th Ian Balck 55 VTR+

As shown on ITV's This Morning programme today http://www.itv-thismorning.co.uk/NewsAndFe...x?fid=734&tid=2 Which Magazine rated the Lingo as the worst small MPV for safety... The item said Which did not use the same critera as Euro Ncap. Wonder why the Pug and Fiat equivalent models were not mentioned? Ian Black 55 VTR+

I think the bluetooth controls sit outside the existing ones. With the cruise control you have the SET+ and SET- on the inner ring and the PAUSE and REG 0 LIM switch on the outer ring. The bluetooth switches sit on the outer ring where your dimming and climate control are on the inner ring. If you zoom on the steering wheel pic on this web page I think you can see them http://www.citroen.com/CWW/fr-FR/RANGE/Pri...005_COMFORT.htm Ian Black 55 VTR+

Found the part number for the full Citroen bluetooth kit 9477C1 I was quoted £265.97 for the part and £68 for fitting. I was given a total price of £325 including VAT and fitting not quite sure how that works out from the 2 numbers above, must be Citroen maths :D Ian Black 55 VTR+

The easiest way to show a dealer your car has a problem is to test drive up to 3 other cars of the same model they have on the forecourt. If all of the cars do the same thing then I would believe them when they say there is nothing they can do. If none of the other cars have the same issue then you know they can fix it. If you can show that your car has a problem and they cannot fix it (in 3 tries) then you can reject the car. But you have to state that you are giving them 3 attempts to fix it within a set time frame e.g If this fault with my car is not rectified within 8 weeks then I will be rejecting it and will be requesting a full refund or brand new replacement vehicle of the same specification. Tried only filling to the fuel tank to the first cut off today and no problem with the cruise control. So the fault must be to do with overfilling the tank and the diesel additive (eloys) cycle not being able to complete. Can't think of anything else as it only seems to happen to diesels and only after a fuel fill up. Ian Black 55 VTR+

I had a Fiat that reported a faulty lambda sensor on the computer when the actual fault was 3 cut wires. Just because the computer can't get readings from a sensor does not mean the sensor or part is a fault, could just be the connection to it that has the problem. Ian Black 55 VTR+

I always filled my Pluriel to the 3rd or 4th fuel pump cut off, this meant I got much more from the first bar indication and between 50 and 60 miles from each bar. However there are ways to confuse the indicator. The most noticable is to park the car on a slope so that the passenger side is lower than the drivers side. Leave the car parked for a couple of hours and when you return you will have about 2 bars more fuel than when you left. I have done this in the C4 as well with the same result. As for the scale of the indicator some of the readings are determined by driving conditions. If driving in town you will be getting fewer MPG and the indicators go out faster, so you can get bars at different ends of the scale to stay on for longer or shorter amounts of miles. As for the empty indication I think Citroen err on the side of caution so you have no excuse to say it is their fault you ran out of fuel (which is a fineable offence). Ian Black 55 VTR+

You are a very lucky man, how often do you play the lottery? I have seen a couple of silver Pluriel local to me and can only assume the owners are happy with them. It is a shame that so many Pluriel seem to have had issues as the concept is great. If the execution had been as good I would have kept mine longer. Ian Black 55 VTR+

All cars get recalls... DaimlerChrysler AG is recalling 50,000s Mercedes cars because of a potential problem with the windshield wipers. The recall includes Vaneo models built between April 2002 and March 2003, as well as A-Class models built between April 2002 and 2003. Source http://www.consumeraffairs.com/recalls04/2...des_wipers.html Most of the forums seem to be in German Ian Black 55 VTR+

At least the depreciation sounds like it will match Citroens about 75% after 16k miles or close to £440 per 1,000 miles  How will the running costs compare (insurance, servicing, MPG etc)? Ian Black 55 VTR+

How do you reach to wash the roof?

BBC Watchdog, 201 Wood Lane, London W12 7TS or phone 020 8535 1000. Citroen do no have a decent customer contact number, in fact they may not even know what the word customer means. The way most people on the forum get a response from them is by using the media or a lawyer. Even the dealers get little or no help from Citroen. Maybe that is over cynical or maybe I have just read too many posts on this forum  Ian Black 55 VTR+

I don't have an engine stall problem, just the SERVICE light comes on when I turn on the REG, cruise control, after I fill up with fuel sometimes. Is cured by turning off the engin and turning it on again. Ian Black 55 VTR+

How many miles have you done in the new car? Took my C4 1.6 110BHP diesel at least 1,500 to let me drive at 30mph in 5th. Now it is much better and improving. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Interesting topic in the C5 technical section of this forum. WIth this link www.psa-peugeot-citroen.com/en/psa_group/technological_files_b3.php as to how the anti pollution system works in the Citreon/Pug diesel engine. The interesting point for me was the fact that after a fill up the system injects some catalyst into the fuel. I wonder if this cycle is what is causing the cruise control to fail. Maybe the cruise control will not work until after the cycle is complete and I am not driving far enough after the fill up for it to finish. Just a thought and a reason why it would only happen to a diesel car. Ian Black 55 VTR+

You must be using it in AUTO mode, try switching to manual (just flip a paddle) then you get much more control of which gear is selected. Sensodrive isn't that bad I found you just had to learn a new driving style. Holding the car on the accelerator takes some getting used to as does not knowing when the clutch will be engaged. It feels like you have less control because of this. But if you allow more time and give yourself more space (between cars) then things are nice and smooth. I found it made me a more cautious driver. The only time I really found it a problem was a wet cold morning when the system decided to go into snow mode as I was about to pull onto a roundabout then it was dangerous as my expectation of wht the car was about to do and what it actually did where completely different. You can have it done on a VTR+ spec as I have already asked the same question. There are 2 part numbers in the Citroen parts database for a bluetooth option. The first is under £50 and is a unit that plugs into the accessory socket. The fully integrated Citroen system costs about £250 and they charge you for 3/4 hour install time which with VAT brings the total closer to £350. The acutal bluetooth module fits into one of the triangle shapes next to the radio controls. The parts catalogue also shows a phone holder that can fit into another of the blanks next to the radio but that is not part of the bluetooth install. There are also 3rd party solutions which cost different amounts inbetween. I would say it is not worth doing as you only pay about £25 for a hang on the ear bluetooth headset which I find works very well. Ian Black 55 VTR+

TomTom One and the Garmin nuvi use the new SiRF GPS receiver chip which is supposed to be better and faster at getting a location fix in low signal areas. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Putting on the rain cover is good fun, after you have tried it a couple of times you might decide not to bother <_< Having somewhere to hang the arches up when you take them off is probably a good thing, mine used to sit on the lounge floor. You will certainly have fun getting used to the sensodrive, just give yourself extra time to pull out at junctions and roundabouts. Ian Black 55 VTR+

I have the most fun on a road where there are lots of speed cameras eg A45 to the east of Birmingham. I set the cruise control and stay at a constant speed whilst others overtake and then slow down for a camera (to be passed by me) then they speed up again. Not sure why they bother. Sometimes it does feel like you are speeding up and slowing down even though you are not. It is just when there is a hill and the engine pulls a bit harder (up) or is used to brake (down). My GPS also matches the speedo readings to within about 1MPH Ian Black 55 VTR+

I bought my Pluriel from a non franchised dealer when it was 6 months old and there was no problem with the Citroen warranty. In fact the warranty was the best thing about the car  (well almost) Ian Black 55 VTR+
