  1. Agreed. I never turn mine off. People who turn it off to save a few bob on fuel end up paying a high price with system breakdowns - a/c is intended to be used all year round.
  2. Noticed lots of little scratches, or maybe marks, on my 2013 c5- pearlescent black When I run my finger nail over them , I can't detect any indentation at all, but I can't get rid of them by polishing, even with colour enriched polish. Also tried one of those "magic pens", but no good. Any ideas? Worth trying a warranty claim? Thanks
  3. Had a problem with the climate control on my 1 year old c5. Fan fired up yesterday, as you would expect on a hot day, but subsided soon afterwards, with the cabin still warm, then tried to speed up, but kept slowing right down again. Adjusting the speed manualy had no effect, other than filling up the fans on the graphic Eventually took the fan speed right down to zero ( temp windows turned to dashes) then back on - and all working fine again. Anyone else had this on a Mk3? Thanks
  4. At home I run a Thorens/SME turntable set up through a restored 1971 Philips amp ( built like a tank, in Eindhoven - beautiful) and Dali floorstanders. So it's fair to say I care about sound quality. I've had 3 C5's (mk1 2 and currently a 3), and been perfectly happy with the standard sound sytems - warm, open and as uncoloured as car sound gets. The environment of a car interior will always be a challenge for sound quality..
  5. ... be aware that this is affected by the air con controls though, I used it a couple of weeks ago, kept some butter nice and cool for a picnic trip to the coast, but turned it to mush coming back, when the temp was turned up in the evening..,
  6. I get around 42 on a manual C5 2.0hdi, which has a claimed 57. This is a fairly typical shortfall. The car is now 1 year old , and my driving is a mix of urban and rural A roads. Don' take any notice of "offical" MPG's - they are nonsense. Worst example I have seen is a Ford Focus ecoboost which claims 58 and delivers 38 ( per What Car magazine) Your mpg is 71% of claim, (45/63) mine is 73% (42/57). I see a pattern here...
  7. Interesting to see the lastest Peugeot 2008 quotes higher MPG numbers for the auto version, compared to manual Auto also has lower emmissions and (zero) road tax Turns conventional wisdom on its head...
  8. I have a 2013 C5 with electronic handbrake, manual gerbox, no stop-start. The hill start assist works brilliantly - always holds you briefly , when you expect it to, even on slight inclines. So this looks like a C4 thing, rather than a hill start thing..
  9. There's definitely a male voice option in my 2013 e-myway. You start with the set up menu, not the nav menu. You can also adjust the nav volume, or deactivate, as I have done
  10. Have you tried extending the radius to the maximum ( i think it's 60 miles from the car) Could just be the station isn't broadcasting tmc data - that happens from time to time.
  11. When you use the central knob, that zooms you in and it changes from map view to road view, which is nice and easy to follow. There is however an orientation option in the emyway menu which gives you "North" ( if you are driving due east, the arrow will travel from left to right across the screen) or "Vehicle Direction" (gives you a straight ahead view regardless of your direction) Sounds like you have yours set on North 2013 e-myway
  12. Automatic mode is the trafficmaster, The numbers are about renewing the subscription. You can turn it off by pushing the button above the drivers side glovebox, or renew if you want it Cruies control, if fiited, wll be on a stalk left of the steering wheel, which looks much like the audio stalk Would advise tracking down a handbook, maybe on ebay? Cheers
  13. hmm It cost me £2k to repair a C5 AL4 auto box, and it still slipped a bit Nasty, but better than the Honda Jazz - £8k, no kidding.
  14. I find that sometimes the Citroen logo comes up when I switch on, and there is a delay until the radio starts up. Sometimes radio comes on straight away. No corelation to time the car has ben standing, so really don't know why, but haven't worried about it. Magnetti Marelli emyway radio/nav/bluetooth phone/live traffic in 2013 c5 exclusive
  15. Looks like Slough, since they demolished "The Office" roundabout..
  16. The spanner remains on when you're getting near a service interval, and flashes when you go past the due point. To reset hold in the mileage trip reset button and turn the key, as Paul describes.
  17. New car, or trimming your fleet?
  18. I drive a 2013 2.0hdi 160ps and it's plenty fast enough- no lag at all, nice linear power delivery, feels and sounds like a petrol car on the move. The 2.2hdi (200ps) is no longer available on the C5 - it dropped off the price list this year - so maybe not such a good bet? Others on this board would have more idea than me.
  19. Was the car "brand new", or pre-registered stock? I bought a pre-reg C5 exclusive last year for exactly the same discount - £25k list reduced to £17k. It was about 3 weeks old, and perfect - had no problems at all. So don't give up - there are some genuine bargains out there.
  20. I think this explains the huge discount you got! A new car cannot have paint colour differences , as I'm pretty sure they are sprayed complete Seems like it's been in a shunt- maybe dropped off the lorry?. Clear case of "not fit for purpose". Cancel your direct debits to the finance company and notify them, plus the garage, Citroen Uk and the SMMT ( Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders)
  21. Sound like you haven't burned the tracks onto the flash drive in a menu structure. If you create a folder for each album then move the tracks into their respective folders, it should work. I had the exact same result when burning in "flat formation" onto an MP3 disc
  22. Sorry, probably didn't explain that properly - I meant when I'm deliberately slipping , or riding the clutch to creep forward in very slow traffic. No problem with the clutch. This is when I notice the raspy."sporty" exhaust sound.
  23. The 2.2 was up-rated to 200 ps and lived beside the 160 for a while, with enhanced exclusive spec equivalent to the 160 technopack. It was dropped on the last price list.
  24. Non - exclusive automatic Mk3's had hydractive 3+ suspension , maybe not brand new ones now though. I've certainly seen mk 3 vtr+ models with H3+ Spec wise, Mk3 exclusives lose xenons, but gain cornering lights, e-touch emergency assist, 2 stage driver seat memory, half leather upholstery,12 way electric seat adjustment, including shoulder adjustment, auto electronic handbrake with hillstart, larger colour screen for sat nav, air conditioned glovebox, interior ambiant lighting , plus a few more bits.. so not all bad news!
  25. Hello I bought my first ever diesel car last year - a brand new c5 2.0 hdi160, following Mk1 and Mk2 petrol c5's Generally smooth and quiet, but is "growly" when crawling through slow traffic, slipping the clutch and letting revs build up. Sounds like an exhaust rasp. Is this normal? Will be going in for first service ( one year old) in May, so wold like opinions if possible Thanks
