Another issue with this change ( from October this year) is that private used car buyers will not be able to "inherit" the remaining tax, presumably to tighten up on uninsured drivers. This means every time a car changes hands privately there will be a refund application and a new tax application. Neither of these transactions currently happen. I can't believe this is efficient..

Hi Anyone know if the handbrake on a Mk3 works the back or front wheels? Does an electronic handbrake make a difference? Mk 1 and 2 worked the front, which is unusual..
-
Front tyres are near the markers already on my 2013 C5 - 10,000 miles! OE Michelins 245/40/19 Budget replacements can be had for around £100 each , so not a disaster. Michelins are crazy price, and seem to be made of sh*t Didn't Michelin own Citroen at one time?

Daytime Running Lights - Bulb Replacement And Led Option
seefive replied to sillyme's topic in Problems and Fixes - C5
Hello My 2013 C5 has a strip of LED's inside the headlamp unit, running underneath the main lights, so this fix won't apply to newer cars. Hopefully the LED's really will last a long time, as this is strictly "non-customer replaceable" -
Does this really make any difference? I've seen it recommended, but can't work out why..

C5 UK range shrinks again. 200PS version no longer available. I wonder how long until they give up on the Mk3 completely? A real shame, as this is by far the best looking, best driving C5. Way better than the Ford or Vauxhall offerings, me thinks...
-
When I had a flat battery on my old Mk 2 C5 and I called out the cavalry for a jump start, I had to wait a couple of minutes with the key in the ignition position, before the starter turned over. It was completely dead initially, even though the lights came on OK

Finally "saw the light" yesterday morning - after a heavy frost. It appears beside the fuel full marker on the left hand dial

First Post - Temperature Gauge Slow
seefive replied to seefive's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
OK - the car is still very new, and not short of oil or water. The gauge has always been slow, but the aircon warms up quickly. Once warm both temp gauges are stable at 7 bars (graphical display) Without traffic I can drive 5 miles from cold before the coolant gauge wakes up, by which time the oil gauge is starting to climb Anyone else with a Mk3 out there? - is your temp gauge extremely slow? Thanks -
OK - here goes for 2014 A simple question, I think I bought my first ever diesel last year - a new C5 2.0, and it takes forever to register anything on the coolant temp gauge. The oil temperature climbs more quickly. This is completely opposite to my old petrol cars, where the temp gauge came up in a couple of minutes, so I guess it's something to do with the different engine? Air con warms up quickly enough. Just wondered why this was Happy new year to all

PSA group's financial woes don't seem to be getting any better. Recent talk in the press of a 30% stake being taken by Chinese firm Dongfeng. You have to wonder what Citroens will look like in a few years time - narrower headlights maybe? But seriousy, it's only a matter of time before the Citroen brand gets glabalised beyond recognition, and loses its identity, a real shame for such an iconic, leading edge company Any thoughts?

2008>Present C5 (X7) Sub Woofer.
seefive replied to JM53 BEL's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
I'm surprised to hear that. I'm very fussy about sound quality myself - I run my home hi-fi on a vintage amplifier because I can't stand the dull muddy sound of modern chip amps. I also way prefer vinyl over digital formats, and yet I find the C5 factory radio very acceptable, with loudness on and slight lift on the bass and cut on treble To each his own, I guess... -
2008>Present C5 (X7) Sub Woofer.
seefive replied to JM53 BEL's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Wouldn't bother personally - there's plenty of bass on tap with the standard set up. If you've got money to spend, I would recommend autodab digital radio conversion With a decent (non standard) aerial it works superbly- better station choice and rock solid reception FM will be disappearing at some time in the (near?) future, so this is a good investment.. No I don't work for Connects2. -
OK - this is a 2012 model - sharper chevrons on the front - so they's probably dropped that feature...
-
ok - now we agree to disagree on the seat memory, I'm still intrigued by this mystery light above the glove box. Where is it? Do you have a picture?
-
The dealer finally backed down and I got an apologetic email form the service manager - after a total of 7 phone calls/texts etc. I was on the brink of suing them for nuisance! Lookers Preston - not too well organised - selling Hyundai and Citroen in the same showroom, and don't know much about either brand. To be fair I did get a very good deal on the car though
-
Brilliant!! Couldn't agree more...
-
If someone messes around with the memory setting (when it's in for a service maybe) and you push the button while moving, it could be a disaster. I too have a 2013 exclusive with the memory function - very nice feature, but (correctly) only works when the car is stationary. BTW I have the "mood lighting" which works fine. You should have 2 yellow lights in the centre , in front of the front courtesy lights, also the door handles have red illumination - another nice touch
-
I'd say it's highly dangerous to recall a memory whilst moving - imagine selecting one which moved you back and your feet couldn't reach the pedals!
-
Michelins - oem spec I think Didn't Michelin used to own Citroen?
-
Can't agree with this. I have a 2013 mk3 exclusive saloon and it's as quiet as my previous mk1 and mk2,hatches despite having silly 19 inch wheels. Maybe the 2012 "facelift" (softer chevrons plus some technical mods I believe) improved things?
