  1. Trago Mills may be a bit of a hike for most of us but it is available on eBay at widely varying prices.
  2. I'd hazard a guess at it being a problem with the turbo, possibly a leak or sticking EGR valve.
  3. You could try and get it upgraded as it is unfit for purpose. Might be a good idea to get the backing of a consumer organisation.
  4. not altogether complementary.
  5. They are almost all very short trips, as I said, 4-15 miles. I took it in for a service last week, had it six months and M.O.T. is due in a month. Apparently one of the injectors is leaking, going back tomorrow to have that done, new front brake discs, rear calipers refurbishing as they are corroding and running out of line, so most likely new discs there too and if it all goes horribly wrong, new calipers too. Also a new fan belt pulley. Maybe the economy will improve with the injector repair. Who knows? The car was serviced when I bought it and I only checked the service booklet when I took it in to be stamped. Could have waited another 18,000 miles. Damnit!
  6. I had my Xantia insured through Churchills - actually through my bank but Churchills held the policy. They were fine until the car was written off (by an 'anonymous' third party) then despite the protected no claims bonus, the policy increased by 50%. Apart from that there were no problems whatsoever with them. I'm currently with Liverpool Victoria and have not had any claims and had no problems with them either, they are always most helpfull. I sometimes insure my youngest daughter on my car for a week or two and they are always very esy to deal with and implement the insurance straight away at a very reasonable cost The only thing is that on renewal of the policy I never seem to receive my certificate. On the other hand a phone call always fixes that without any fee. They say the documents are always dispatched the day following the renewal but they never come. Whenever I change a vehicle or insure my daughter, the documents arrive the following day. Odd but not of any great moment. Must remember to phone them for the last lot!
  7. How does one access the data from there?
  8. Got new front tyres on mine the day before yesterday. No hole in the hub so they aren't balanced and the guy had a hell of a time with them - first one at least, had to help him remove the old ones and fit the new ones. Balance seems to be OK, no vibration up to 90mph, haven't been any faster than that on them, they did feel very different though. I put it down to the 25L of distilled water in the boot but removing that still left the steering feeling a bit 'edgy'.
  9. Same here - it worked fine the day I bought the car but has never worked since. Also the washers are weird. At first the rear screen would wash along with the windscreen, now it is the other way aroind.
  10. No advice to offer I'm afraid, just a related question. The 12V sockets for additional equipment, behind the gearstick and in the boot. Are they also controlled by the Economy Mode shutdown process. I often recharge my camera batteries in the car but this is usually very quick, twenty minutes or so, but if one were to install a fridge, the damn thing would be no use if it shut down after about an hour in hot weather.
  11. Is it an electric pump for the suspension? My assumption was that it employed the same pump as the Xantia/BX/GS, although mine does whirr a bit when it unlocks and can be seen to settle a bit occasionally, and rise when I dive in the bootspace. I realise there is an electrical assist for the rear suspension to adjust the rear height when loading but took it to be just that, an assist for when the engine was stopped. I presumed that it would have been the height correctors that were 'stuck'. Sometimes lifting the car by the bumper will get them going again (while the engine is running) but only as a temporary measure.
  12. Discovered a few chrome bolt covers and the key, for it was indeed fitted with security bolts. Tyre fitter had a terrible struggle replacing the tyres and having no central port in the wheel meant that he couldn't balance the wheels either.
  13. Thanks - chrome covers are gone (wondered why they looked so dingy). Locking bolts - hope not as I haven't seen a key for any. New tyres going on soon (maybe today if i can get a Round Tuit)
  14. I've had an '02 C5 estate 2.0 HDI 110 for six months and do as 72dudes does. Since buying it my usual mileage of 2,000+ miles per month has dropped to 400 miles over 4~5 weeks. It does 400~450 miles per tank, always wait for the red light then fill to the brim. Short urban trips only, around 4 to 15 miles per trip (I know!). The last three fills have been chipfat er.. BioDiesel. This has had no impact whatsoever regarding perceived power or range. It's only 80p/L so that has been the only discernible advantage other than being green and smug. Did my first 'long' run a week ago, 250 miles at speeds not particularly advisable or economical. Under all conditions I'm returning an average of 31.6 MPG . Min: 29.68/Max: 33.39 I know this defies the perceived wisdom but my Accord 2.0iLS did exactly the same, driven at 50MPH or 120 made no difference to it. My Xantia 1.9 Turbodiesel was far more economical and substantially quicker. 36MPG around town and up to 70MPH on long relaxed runs (two passengers) Anyone else any Biodiesel experiences? a mate at work has a Berlingo and filled up with bio and his MPG dropped to about 10! (He has had it chipped so that may have an impact.
  15. The code card should be in the wallet with the handbook.
  16. I thought that I had no owner's manual when I got mine but found it in one of the myriad hiding places - in the tray under the driver's seat IIRC. I think the button you refer to has to do with the automatic operation of the interior lights. Haven't the manual here at the moment, sorry. I lost my digital camera in the car last Monday and I'm still hunting for it. There are so many places it could be and I forget half of them.
  17. I think there should be another set of bolts - there is in mine plus a strange yellow thing that fits over a bolt, can't imagine what that could be for. Had mine six months and it is still a bit of a mystery to me.
