Depends on company really. But all mods have to be disclosed such as my sidestrips had to be told etc. Due to it making the car more appealing. However as my insurance was free i didnt need to pay anything for them. Im just not allowed to touch the engine otherwise then i have to start paying. Could not put a whole bodykit on either but mods which dont look much different from standard and are basically OEM parts or accessories they didnt care about. Other thing is i wouldnt have to tell them if i changed my alloys i could stick 20" chrome rims worth £1000 each on there makes no difference to policy. But if i lower it i have to pay. Funny how insurance works. Few companies are fine with mods some arent though. Some companies are getting cheeky though to the point you even need to declare leather interior.

I like it the way it is now not into bodykits etc for a lot of cars prefer small subtle modifcations. Not really the burberry wearing kind of person that wants every bit of ripspeed gear in halfords.

Not a fan. Think best way to make the C4 look good is pump the arches out a bit more. Wider arches. Fatter bumper not exactly different from standard just fattened out a bit to line up with the wider arches and wider rear end. Rear bumper not sure about though. I quite like this front lip though. Just dont like the way it blends into the arches. I'd need to design my own kit if i wanted one lol. Nothign on the market appeals to me completely. http://www.musketier.de/assets/images/C4-11.jpg

Trust me it takes bloody ages to get the paint down. One of the guys on think its detailing world or one of the PC users at the clio forum did it. Took him ages to get down to bare metal with it and i mean ages. Destroyed a few pads in the process. He just wanted to see how long it would take using very harsh cutting compounds it took 2 of them going at one area constantly swapping over due to getting tired etc over an hour to get down. Just dd it as an experiment to prove the paint will cope basically on an old bonnet they had lying around. Theres a thread over at clio sport showing just what these machines can do though. And how well they can bring up old destroyed looking paint. If you want to see what they can do check this thread out over there. http://cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=143668

Im not a big of the newer golfs the Mk1 and MKII were the best i used to own a MKii. 1.8 was fairly quick as well and good fun. Just dont make them witht he same feel as they used to. Not a fan of how the design has gone everytime it gets newer i like them less. But the new GTI interior is rather nice the seats especially. Was in a MKIV demo car though when i was looking at audio gear didnt feel anywhere near as well put together as mine he had more rattles the plastics felt very cheap in comaprison. Once he got in my car he loved it.

Firefox has to be patched just like IE the only difference is firefox does it more often and it really is leagues ahead of IE in security use. That includes IE7 which isnt so much a new program than just an update ot the core IE code. So all the same security bugs are still in there. Firefox is a little better due to open source nature of the code in that anyone can patch the bug up which is why if you want very very upto date versions you can get a new one daily. Mix that with the Fact IE cant display embedded PNG graphics. And also does not comform to proper internet standards which is why a lot of sites look garbled in firefox and other browsers as they have been coded incorrectly. Allows too much functionality to be integrated from the OS into itself aswell its not particularly good. (god im such a geek) Im just gonna put it down to studying computers and software etc at uni for 3 years. But not much on the site really.

Im up for another meet. Anywhere is good for me. Dont moan about distances :-P
-
I know all that :-P And the swirls are rather bad and have you ever tried using megs scratch X? IT takes bloody ages to do a small section. Id be at it all day.
-
Mines the petrol it sits at 3 bars when its warmed up thats not hammering it thats just gentle driving. Hammering it it still sits at 3 bars its very difficult to get to move.
-
looks like the diesels sit at 2 bars then and petrols sit at 3. Mine sits at 3 all the time i have tried getting it to 4 couldnt manage it.
-
i have swirls in mine from taking it to a hand carwash place i want it perfect again hence machine polisher....Plus it can be used to apply wax etc on a lower setting and buff it off nicer. A pC is a random orbit polisher so not as bad for paint as a rotary.

Yeah the COOL spec is basically a midway option between VTR and VTR+ spec. or SX and VTR+ i think in the hatchback. Most of the internal options from the VTR+ just non of the external options. So if your not too fussed about having 17" wheels etc its the best spec to go for. And has a good deal on it.
-
I really wanna get my car machine polished i was thinking of buying myself a PC i mean its got to be easier than doing it by hand.

Looking good mate! Guessing you did not get the A pillars done as well? The Small triangle there? And get some tyre shine on there! The tyres are making the alloys look less bling lol. You have front tints dont you? Just looking as there quite subtle.
-
Welcome to the forums mate. Your the first one here with the Cool model. For that price I would have gone after market you can pick them up cheaper getting a pioneer bluetooth unit. And there better. Plus give you MP3 playback in the car, more powerful amp better sound. And the "South East" controls on the wheel are dependant on the model of car. In the VTR+ they control the trip computer basically add a dimmer, mouse scroll type wheel for the menus escape, menu, select button etc. Well thats what they are on my model anyways.

To be hoenst it sounds exactly like my 1.6 petrol. Except my heat comes on rather quickly. But the climate is usually set to HIGH and i have the A/C on which usually makes the car heat up quicker for some reason. Usually stick it on like that to mainly demist windows though.
-
Possibly the clutch sensor. And might need a new climate control unit. Not just the compressor etc.

http://www.uvyd.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/worthless.gif Get outside and get some pics up!
-
Ask citroen if you can buy the menu escape buttons etc for the steering wheel and if its possible to fit them. Least then the headunit becomes pointless. If it can be done i cant see it being much to put a couple buttons on the steering wheel.

Maybe I should stop being lazy and get off my arse and clean it just been raining too much recently to be bothered. Then it would actually look nice when I look at it again. Rather than grey / brown colour it is now. My spoiler is so dirty it isnt metalic looking anymore looks matt finish. Last cleaned day of the meet. And been parked under a tree since.
-
Did you get the standard VT bumper put on in the end or get the VTR bumper?
-
Its somewhere in one of the boxes / bags from when i moved house...not entirely sure. But its safe lol.
-
He wont lose those menu's he will have a VTR+ spec all those controls are set on the steering wheels for us as well as the headunit so that does not matter. I have lost absolutely nothing plugging my headunit in.
-
Welcome to the forums mate. As far as i am aware...No they dont offer a DAB radio. However its very easy to put another headunit into the car which does offer DAB. Can be done in 15 - 20 minutes. The only issue is if you have parking sensors then its a little more tricky as the aftermarket unit wont give the audible warning. All the units in the C4 though are made by blaupunkt. The only option is the JBL upgrade which gives you a small subwoofer and more speakers with a more powerful amplifier which is installed under the front seat. Rather than using the internal amp from the headunit which is ok but not that great. It is one of the better stock systems out there though in terms of sound.

Depends how much power you want. If you want 200+ its cheaper to stick nitrous in it for those times you just want to go chasing another hot hatch etc. Otherwise its gonna get into some crazy money. £2000 will get you just over 200bhp. £3000 or so will get you to 210 - 220bhp. So as i said not cheap at all. Please do not believe the K&N filter places that say you will gain 10+ bhp from there induction kits. Your more likely to loose power from them due to heat soak. If you want an induction kit get a sealed one.
