  1. And they're right. The 2ltr petrol engines don't have one. Maybe what you've Googled is for 2ltr diesel engines. They have a big one just infront of the engine.
  2. Yes - I agree with this. I experimented one day when I was doing a drive down to Dover and had bags of time. I put the cruise on at 55mph and travelled for 75 miles. The computer showed I'd got 57mpg. Had I travelled at the usual 70 I'd have got 46 or so. The slower speed took 15 minutes longer but took around 2 quid less in fuel.
  3. I fairly recently changed the cambelts on our Saxo and Pug 306 for the first time since they were built. As you can see, they are both 12 years old but low mileage. Both old belts were in very good condition, but were beginning to be a worry because of their age. Incidentally, the change interval for the Berlingo is every 80000 or ten years. Citroen main dealers tend to be pricy (but probably no more than other main dealers) but there are other independent Citroen repairers in various parts of the country who have a good reputation.
  4. Shame on you :angry: Years ago I bought a Pug 205 that was a bit like that. It just had no 'get-up-and-go'. An oil & filter change, a new air filter and a really good dose of Diesel Redex in the tank and within a few weeks, the car was transformed.
  5. I find it helps to have the front wheels raised. Under the bonnet remove the top of the grill. Remove the three screws underneath. Remove the screw holding the wheel arch liner to the bumper. There are two more each side holding the bumper to the body. The bumper is now held by a clip each side. Pull the bumper forward then outwards and it will release. If you have foglights fitted they will also need disconnecting. Having got the bumper off, there's a cross member held by two bolts that will need to be removed to reach the bottom headlight bolt.
  6. Yes - certainly do both sides. You'll need a good couple of hours. My C5 also needs the bumper removed and since I've had to replace the sidelights twice in 18 months, this last time I've replaced with LEDs. More expensive but hopefully worth it.
  7. I've just purchased from these guys a rear box and the pipe running between the two boxes for my daughter's Xsara. Price and speed of delivery was excellent. Both joints were flanged but three new hangers and two new flange clips added only a small extra to the total bill. Therefore the use of an angle grinder made short work of the original rusted clips.

  9. The suspension and steering all work off the same system which uses LDS fluid. LDS and LHM won't mix - it foams. Draining the mixture is easy enough but without the kit to repressurize the system and a Lexia, you won't be able to get the pump running after refilling.   10. My daughter has an 02 Xsara which I look after and I find that it's just about possible to change headlight bulbs from under the bonnet. To reach the sidelight bulbs I've had to remove the bumper then unbolt the light units. In addition to removing the bumper, the cross rail needs to come off the reach the bottom bolt.   11. There's a level sensor at the bottom of the reservoir but your trouble may only be the wiring connector that's slightly corroded.
  12. It's very likely that your water reservoir is the same as is fitted in the Pug 306. In which case the neck screws on to the base.

  15. Are you sure it isn't just switched off. There's a switch below the radio.
  16. Has your VIN number got RHR in it. If so, it's a 2ltr 138BHP 6 gear.
  17. The replacement engine would fit in place of yours but you would need a lot of extra bits and pieces. Intercooler, air filter housing, and radiator. Probably the turbo car will have larger brakes as well. Considering the work; the cost and the negotiating with your insurance company, wouldn't it be easier to do your blown head.

  20. I think you're right. There isn't an R clip but there's a small bolt at the bottom of the caliper. If this is removed the caliper will swing upwards, leaving the pads against the discs. The pads will then lever out.
  21. It doesn't sound as though you're going about it the right way. When you've got the wheel off unhook the end of the handbrake cable and pull it through the hole in the caliper. Remove the pin at the bottom of the caliper. It's held by an R clip - remove the clip and tap the pin through from the outside. Now the caliper will hinge upwards from the bottom, leaving the pads behind. Remove them together with the sensor wires. The pistons wind back in different directions. anticlockwise for the righthand side. clockwise for the left. Note the position of the slot in the piston. It needs to be located so as to accept the nib on the rear of the pad.
  22. Don't know whether this will help. My daughter's Xsara's temperature light began flashing, together with a warning beep after first starting with a cold engine. Eventually, I changed the temperature sender unit in the head then all was well.
  23. Don't know whether I remember this corectly but you could try it. Suppose your code is 8663, press the first button eight times, press the 2nd one six times, press the 3rd one six times and press the 4th one three times.
  24. Usually it's called a ******** nuisance. :) But most guys understand undertray. Haynes refers to it as an undershield. They are easily damaged. Even wind flow will break them if they aren't secured properly. Doubtful if any survive as long as the breakers yard.
