And also, under the current system, you can take you test as many times as you can afford. If you can't pass in 3 attempts, i think you should be banned.
  3. Well seing as you booked it in with a brake squeak........how do you assume they checked it? Very good point.
  4. Quite interesting how i post an entire essay about how good my experiencetoday, and the following 3 posts are all in relation to the only single negative (not that it is even negative) point i put in. :D
  5. KFK: Is it standard that a car goes out for a roadtest? I have no problem with this, just curious. Even if it isn't/doesnt, it must be better for the car to do a short drive before going on the ramp, rather than start it, drive it a few metres and then stop it. Stops what i think i recall the RAC man calling 'car wash sindrome'. (When my mum moved her car 1 metre to open the garage door, and then it wouldnt start as it was flooded).
  6. Now, I'd be the first on here screaming and shouting if something went wrong with my car. So, it's only fair and proper of me to do the same now, but in reverse: Just got my C4 back from Citroen. It went in Monday morning for the airbag recall, and i gave them a shopping list of things i'd like done. Such as, removing the bolt and treating the rust from my roofrack mounts, dodgy seatbelt not recoiling, broken wind deflector, sqeeky brakes, adjust the rear windscreen waterproofing that had was falling out, and replace the drivers door handle after my incident in a multistorey carpark. I also asked if the radio could have the AUX socket enabled so i can plug in a 9706AG. The bolt has been removed, each mounting hole re-tapped, and greased up (something i should have done when i put the roofrack on). The wind deflector has been replaced, as has the entire driver's seatbelt. Appologies were given that the rear windscreen seal cant be replaced yet, but that it isnt a waterproof problem, as water drains off the sill underneath anyway, but when the replacement parts come available, they will call me in. Brand new door handle (which i was charged £12 for, the only charge i had to pay!). Unfortunately the 9706AG hasnt arrived yet, but its on order. They werent sure if my AUX was enabled or not, but have given me photocopies of theie manual, so i should be able to fit it myself anyway, if not they said to pop in (I have a degree in electronic engineering, so i hope i can wire a radio :D ) In summary, i can't say a bad word against Citroen for the work they have done for me. (Although from when i dropped off the car and then picked it up, it had done 4 miles).

    New C4 Advert

Is there an echo in here ? :D
  8. Mine was a 1.1 SXi Saxo, 96 P reg. Had it for 5 years before graduation, followed by new job with decent sallary, resulting in C4.

Well, i've got the car back from its Airbag recall. Citroen said there was nothing to worry about, but if it happens again to pop in and see them. It started up fine , so i'm not gonna loose any sleep over it

This all seems fair enough. The radio on draining the battery, so the car computer cuts in and saves some battery for starting the engine again. But i fail to see why it cut in on me. Whilst i don't ever turn off the radio, with the ignition off, the radio goes off. So i drive home, park on my drive, turn off my engine, get out and lock the car. Th next day i open the car for autoglass to put a new windscreen in. He wants to see the milage, so i put the key in the iginition, turn it to one click, the radio comes on, the dash comes up, and he writes down the milage. I then turn off the ignition, and later lock the car. Monday morning come, i unlock the car, put the key in the ignition, turn and 'Economy mode' comes up. The engine then starts fine on the 2nd click.

Just remember to do the reverse in a rear-drive car, eg most BMWs
  14. A bit more throttle would solve the problem
  15. Indeed. Easy to replace IF you can get to them. Of course, the warranty wont be worth much afterwards.

  18. My mods? I don't remember releasing my own mod ! Good choice, btw.
  19. Blue backlight would match my car very well !

    Economy Mode

I remember now. When the bloke came to fit my windscreen he needed to see the milage, so i turned on the ignition, saw the milage, then took the key out. I guess that is what put it in economy mode.
  21. Tri colour backlight LED's ?

But i always leave the radio on. And i havent done anything different (that i am aware of) when parking the car.
  23. I could probably find this out by finding and reading my handbook, but as i'm at work it quicker to ask you guys: Today when i put my key in the ignition, rather than the radio starting, and the lights on the dash coming on (airbag, handbrake, etc), all i got was 'Economy mode' on the trip computer screen. It wasnt until i turned the key and started the engine that the radio and all came on. What's all that about then?

Here here. Maybe it should/could be implemented as a voluntary thing. Those that pass get a discount on their tax (not likely under this government) or insurance (more likely).
