Anyone know if this is possible? I'm assuming everyone out there has orange, like me. But have seen this photo: http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/8839/display3ev.jpg

As described before, Citroen refused to replace my windscreen under warranty, climing it was a stone chip and not the known (and accepted(?)) chassis twisting problem that causes cracks originating from the two side pillars. Autoglass have just replaced my windscreen. The guy said the only C4s he has replaced windscrens in have been stone chips, and he would say that mine was actuially a stone chip too (which is what Citroen said, and to be honest, i accept). He said he had heard of twisting car chassis causing cracks, but he hasnt replaced any for Citroen. It may be that Citroen dont use Autoglass for warranty honoured replacements or that the problem isnt widespread. Anyway, i now have a shiney new windscreen.

To add, my gf's dad drives a 53 BMW 3series 3.0l diesel. When in my car he comments how i've got more functions, a better laid out dash, in general a much better value car. His car cost £50k new, mine cost £15k. (Admitedly, his 3.0l goes a little faster than my 1.6, but once you get to 70mph the law means that is useless anyway)

My first car was a (2nd hand) Saxo. My 2nd is a (new) C4. I guess that makes me loyal to Citroen. When i was looking for my new car, i did look at other manufacturers, drove a lot of demo/test-cars, but Citroen already hada big tick as i was very happy with the reliability and service. The biggest tick was that no other manufacturer made a car that grabbed me as much as the C4. So far (11months) i am completely sure i made the right choice. As for judging a car by the number of recalls. I think that is stupid. Take the last one on the C4, the airbag one. From how i understand it, the airbag system pre-recall is within legal specs, it is purely Citroen making the system even better, out of their own pocket. That should be a tick for Citroen, not a cross against them.

Please see my edit (just to keep me out of court) :D

So now we all have (or soon will have) the updated airbag software installed, who volunteers to test it, make sure it works? Disclaimer: I take no responsibility if you die or cause any damage to yourself or others carrying out this 'test'.

Ah - i dont read General very often.

Have you got in yet ?

What's an MB door? I park my car on my drive, which is a quite steep slope downwards. I too, have on occasion let the door get caught by the wind
-
Depends how much the dealer charges for fitting
-
Cos we're better drivers and dont need electronic gadgets to help us drive B)

I sometimes get a squeek when its been raining, but i think that's my wet shoes on the rubber of the pedal.
-
I'm intreagued what difference it makes.

No, i had my passenger door fixed, when the outside handle kept getting stuck out. This is the drivers door (sometimes) makes a clunk noise when closing from outside. I've also noticed, though it may be unrelated, that i'm seeing the 'door open' indicator light on my dash more often.
-
I'm trying to work out the same question. My door wasnt shutting properly, but when i was 'demonstrating' to my Citroen dealer, it shut perfectly everytime. Drove home, got out, went to shut the door, and it clunked first time!

It might be recognised that a vehicle suffers with a particular fault........ and a dealer may do all within its powers to affect a satisfactory repair. What you dont take into account is that only recently have parts become available to resolve the brake noise, and i hasten to add.....NOT ALL C4'S ARE AFFECTED BY IT.......some already have the modified parts! I agree that it is perfectly acceptable for the dealer to say "yes, there is a known fault on some C4s, we havent got a fix yet, but we'll have a look and see what we can do". To me that is all that can be asked of the dealer. To say "yes, its a problem all C4s have and we cant do anything about it" has the same meaning, but gets customers angry. (Now of course, this could be what Algot's dealer said, and has been mis-quoted) Of course, it works the other way too. If a C4 owner goes to a Citroen dealer and demands this that and the other is fixed, the dealer isnt going to being too happy to help. If the owner goes in and says "i have this problem, happens when i do this, can you have a look please", the dealer is going to be more likely to go the extra step to sort out the problem. Algot, please dont take this reply as a go against you. We have a lot of C4 owners on this forum, and KFK works for a Citroen dealer so is a very useful member of the group, as he sees everything from 'the other side'.

Squeeky brakes: Mine squeek when driving forwards or backwards at low speeds. Apparently some C4s have a much louder noise when reversing and braking (informed by Citroen service manager). Mine are going to be looked at next Monday. Others on here have reported squeeling brakes in other threads. Folding passenger seat: I'm not sure i follow what you mean. The seat in its normal position looks like this: \_ . It folds forwards, and slides forwards: /_ . Then it should go back again to where it was: \_ . Are you getting yours getting stuck: |_ ? (Isnt ASCII art fun B) ) Or is it not sliding properly? Anyway, the excuse 'all C4s have that problem' should not be his excuse. If he admits its a problem, he should fix it, regardless of whether all C4s have the problem, or only your C4.

Is it the steering lock? Try turing the steering wheel back and forth while turning the key.
-
Yes ask ere'indoors to get it out the boot! lol :( Good plan !
-
Just had a rainstorm. When it was over, i needed to get something out of my boot. Opened the lid, jumped back and avoided the downpore. Grinned as had out-witted the drips. Leant in and got huge drip down my neck. Grrr. Maybe the shake a little might help.
-
Doh! Not the answer i was hoping for.
-
Do you have a technique for opeing the boot when its been raining, and leaning in to get something out, without getting dripped on? This is on the coupe, btw.
-
To all those going to Peugeot dealers, apparently the 9706AG come up on the Citroen server for £18.31+VAT
-
Yes, thanks KFK. (I was only talking to service manager as he was the one inspecting my windscreen.)
-
That would be most appreciated
