  1. Welcome to the forum. Which engine does the car have and is it auto or manual ? There are many C5 owners here so you are in good company. On the C5 technical section there is a pinned topic on Common Problems which is worth looking at. The Haynes manual for the C5 shows how to do most jobs on the car but does not cover the 2.2 hdi engine although the rest of it is relevant.
  2. Welcome to the forum. Were the spark plugs also changed with the new ignition coil ? Does the engine management light come on as well as the messages ? If this comes on the car may be put in limp mode giving the poor running. Also there will be fault codes generated which should give a good indication of the fault and these will remain stored until deleted by a code reader. It seems an odd combination of faults but possible connections could be the speed which may be generated by an abs sensor or maybe a brake switch fault. As a first step I would get the fault codes read and if this does not point to something obvious then you may need a Citroen dealer to do a diagnostic with the correct equipment (Lexia). If you do not have a code reader one with live data can be bought for around £40 such as this from Gendan https://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FXNT200.html To read more than engine sensor faults (which are the ones that put on the engine management light and depollution messages) would need a Lexia and Chinese copies to install on a pc are available from such as ebay and easydiagnostics for around £70-120.
  3. Welcome to the forum. The door mirror is held on the door by a single bolt/nut which can only be accessed by removing the internal door card. To do this unclip the internal handle cover and opening handle surround, unclip the window switch, remove the door card top plastic section, remove the handle bolts and the bolts around the outside edge of the card, then unclip the door card and pull it towards you and then up to remove it.
  4. The engine management light could possibly have been low fuel pressure if the filter was blocked enough. The fault codes will still be stored on the car until deleted by a code reader so in the future you should be able to see what was wrong.
  5. If you want to disable the tyre warning then it would need to be done in a diagnostic using a Lexia. You could check if all the transmitters are installed - they are built in to the tyre valves. If faulty there is also a fix in the C5 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic (copied here) which could be cheaper than a diagnostic unless you already have a Lexia. Also check all the pressures are very close since the warning may be if one tyre is a few psi low. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 26. Tyre pressure sensor failure. This seems to be a particular problem on the mark 3 C5 (2008 on) where the valve stems can crumble. It is possible to just replace the stems with a repair kit for £9.99, ref Robhall77. See http://www.citroen-o...sor/#entry75957 Plastic caps instead of metal will also help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ESP is supposed to make it less likely for you to have a skid by application of brakes on relevant wheels. On a slippy surface you could try accelerating to see if it works when it will light up an icon on the dash. If you get stuck in snow you may need to switch it off to help you get going. I guess you have checked the service record of your new car to see if the timing belt and associated bits have been replaced.
  6. Thankyou for the post. This highlights that a fault code indicating a sensor fault could be its connector or wiring and these should be checked before the part is replaced. I will add it to the Common Problems topic since most people would just replace the air flow meter and not look any further. What year and mileage is your car ?
  7. Welcome to the forum. This does not seem normal for any car so definately get it looked at and do not try to live with it. These reviews of the car suggests it may suffer from flat spots and also it may have hill start assist which could have something to do with setting off and holding the brakes on a bit http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/citroen/c1/first-drives/2014-citroen-c1-first-drive-review http://petrolblog.com/2014/07/citroen-c1-v-peugeot-108/
  8. I do not know what it is but possibly a fancy wiring connector - you could separate the 2 halves and see if there is anything inside. The Haynes manual for the C4 appears to have it in the engine fuse box photos so it is an original part on the car.
  9. Welcome to the forum.
  10. I have no idea if they are diamond cut but this site has a bit of general info and you could have them painted as an alternative http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/wheel-finishes/diamond-cutting/

    Sat.nav

It is worth checking the date of any updates since the maps may not be that up to date. If a new road is not on our C5 sat nav I just pick a road near to the new one if it is the destination.
  12. Welcome to the forum. I have edited the title slightly to help when searching. On the C5 Technical section there is a pinned post with commom problems that is worth looking at and the heater flap servo motor is there. Where is the Citroen breakers ?
  13. The labour time I quoted includes the depressurisation. On the C5 the front and back can be done seperately by undoing a bleed screw on the relevant front or rear pressure regulator which lets out a bit of lds fluid which you can catch in a can - a bit like bleeding the brakes. It can also be done using diagnostics which may save a bit of lds fluid but nobody is likely to bother doing this since it takes time/effort. So to depressurise it takes a minute or so. I have used my dealer to replace front and rear struts on our 2007 C5 since the labour charge was only an hour (if that) and has not made the saving enough to do the jobs myself. It is worthwhile getting the Citroen service box manuals which come on 3 dvds to install on your pc - these include the workshop manuals for all Citroen models, the parts diagrams, wiring diagrams and invoicing times. They can usually be obtained on ebay and do not cost much.
  14. Thankyou for coming back with the fix/answer - there are not many Relay owners on here, hence the lack of replies.
  15. I have not used a Lexia but most code readers will give a definition of the code it reports. Also in the Petrol Diesel & LPG injection section on here there are pinned topics with definitions of most of the codes. You can also do a google search with a code and often will get a fix for it. easydiagnostics also advertise a lexia and being a UK company (Hamilton, South Lanarkshire) you would be able to get advice before buying one, whereas many of the ones on ebay are based in China which could give problems. http://www.easydiagnostics.co.uk/#/home/4584136126 On their site it says 'MUST BE RUN ON A 32BIT OPERATING SYSTEM - XP,VISTA,7, 8 ( MUST BE 32BIT )' - so windows 8 may be ok but you need it to be 32 bit but I would think they will advise on this. Only thing, their Lexia is dearer than others on ebay, approx £120 vs £70.
  16. These costs do not seem right and depending on the following, I would take your car somewhere else. If the rear pressure regulator (firmness/stiffness regulator) is Citroenpart no 5277N7 then it is £309 from citroencarparts.net and the labour time to replace it is just over 1 hour - I can not imagine any suspension job on a C5 taking about 10 hours. So with a bit of lds fluid £400 should be enough. I could not find any other rear pressure regulators on the parts diagrams so if the part no. is different have a look on that site for a cost. You can check the parts yourself on the service.citroen site if you register as another professional non emergency services and as a member of the Citroen Owners Club, then use your VIN (VIS) top left to find your car. The regulator can be found under Mechanical/Suspension/Rigidity regulator sphere - 2 regulators are shown, 1 for the front (AV = avant) part no.5277J7 and 1 for the rear 5277N7. Then use the citroencarparts.net site to get a price using the part no. top left in the search box. This is a Peugeot dealer in Barrow so the parts are the correct ones from Citroen. http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres http://www.citroencarparts.net/?s=5277N7 edit: the Citroen car parts site no longe seems to work
  17. A few more thoughts - the temp sensor/gauge dropping to cold could be a sensor fault or its electrical connector or its wiring or the thermostat has opened fully when not required or possibly the engine fan has come on when not required. Also check the coolant level is normal. - the running on could possibly be leaking fuel injectors so fuel still goes in until the fuel rail pressure has dropped. I looked in the Haynes C5 manual to see if a fuel shut off valve is mentioned on the other diesels but could not find anything.
  18. As a reminder for others, it is a 51 plate 2.2 hdi c5. You should check the engine oil level since if high it can lead to a runaway where it runs on the engine oil. Check if the swirl flap actuator plastic ball joint at the gearbox end of the cylinder head is broken. Also check the battery voltage since this can light up the dash if it is low. Did you ever get the fault codes read before during the previous faults ?
  19. Welcome to the forum. If just visiting France from the UK, it would be usual to use stickers on the lights but for a permanent fix I would think lights from a LHD car would be best, from a scrap yard is likely to be the lowest cost source. I do not think the existing lights can be modified in any other way.
  20. Welcome back to the forum. What was your previous name on the forum ?
  21. You could check the steering fluid level in case a leak has started - check the C5 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic for info on steering rack leaks. After this it is down to ball joints and strut top bearings.
  22. I have removed some posts and edited one so the posts remain on topic. This topic needs to be kept since when it was started dpf removal was allowed so there will be cars around that do not have a complete dpf and members with such cars should still be helped. The current MOT systems in place are not designed to detect partial dpf removal but maybe in the future this could change if the government thinks this is necessary. Obviously if somebody now is thinking about removing a dpf the forum will advise against it due to the MOT changes last year. This topic is now highlighting that if fault codes are generated when a dpf has been partly removed it is possibly not the dpf that is causing it and once TheGoose has had the fault codes read we will all learn something.
  23. Out of interest, does anyone use the opening rear window ? Only time I have done was to replace the high level brake light. If I remember, later I will move this topic to the C5 section and include it in the Common Problems topic.
  24. This is from the C5 Common Problems pinned topic 42. Estate tailgate window does not open. This topic contains a fix for this and also Citroen can supply a repair kit for about £15, part no. 653898. http://www.citroen-o...te-rear-screen/
  25. The etancheite 9731AR is a sealing product for the sump.
