  1. Think this should be pinned as its a very clear guide with pics for a job thats well within the scope of the d.i.y.er
  2. Techbod told me of this a couple of years ago. What your getting is called the domino effect when one system goes down (in your case the fap side) other system have to work outside there preset limits and show up faults that will disapear once the original fault has been sorted. maybe worth taking your egr valve off and cleaning it out. Dealers recomend changing it but weve cleaned a few with good results. Another known fault on the 2.2 is the plastic rod breaking on the swirl pot on the right hand side of the engine
  3. Check the wires to the alternator. Seen a few rot when the ***oops*** tray has been left off and all the road dirt gets up there
  4. What do you mean by sugestions youve only got 2 courses of action here 1 get the kit and fix it yourself 2 get the kit and pay someone to do it. Really cant see it going anywhere if you want it done under warrenty as its out of warrenty. The fault youve got is a very comon one and there a few postings on hear about fixing it.
  5. Your geting there some say smash the inside others drill holea and some jetwash it. If your going along the lines of removing it of the ecu then smash or drill the choice is yours.
  6. Its under the technical section and has been active today so no need to search just look around. Was the xmas good for you. It was for us and very very unexpected think it was the weather that made the diference
  7. There is a ongoing topic on here on how to remove the fap filter altogether and inform the ecu that it is no longer there. so what part of the country are you in then
  8. Hi what youve got is a few normal niggle and will have a good car once sorted as 120k is absolutley nothing for these cars Heater not working..... That will be the resistor on the side of the blower unit 30 to 40 quid from the dealers and slacken 2 screws to replace it.Im sure if you trace the wires from the switch theyl go to where the resistor is. Comm unit...... before replacing this try a bsi reset (do a search on hear for it). As one of your faults was the alternator so i take it youve had a few flat batterys and jump starts and you just never no with citroen electrics. Timing belt well youve just got to put that down to routine maintenance and a must when getting a new to you car. best regards stev
  9. I took it to the garage to have the suspension system changed, from hydraulic to manual. Please please please tell us what was done and any pics if possible
  10. Hi. Got the cable but havnt got a 2.2 to try it on ha ha. Anychance you could put the procedure on here or pm me so i can keep it to one side for future. best regards steve
  11. Sorry but i have to disagree with you over the c5. They are the ideal vehicle for a taxi and like any other business you have to put money back into it. And without sounding like im picking fault or trying to have a row your posting shows a serious lack of vehicle maintenance for a taxi driver. If you've had the fault for over 2 years it should of been sorted out before now and not left to get worse. Now believe me when i say i dont like spending money but like myself your in a good position as every penny you spend on the car you get back in tax. And if maintained properly theyl run properly. The anti pollution fault will be your fap filter needs cleaning/replacing and the fluid topping up which a dealer or Indy can do for you and if you keep the receipt the tax man will refund you. The tyres well put Michelin energy savers on youl get 10000 out of them and again keep the receipt. As for the bulbs put a good quality one in and make sure that the black plastic acsess panel is replaced properly. take it to the dealers and get a full diagnostics done on the car and then get a maintenance program in place and your mileage will go up and the problems will go down. And with your dad being a mechanic im sure your labour bill could be converted to a beer bill. Your probably in the same boat as the rest of the taxis in the country and struggling but any faults on your car must be sorted straight away as the penaltys are higher for taxi drivers youl lose your badge and plate for not keeping the vehicle up to scratch best regards steve
  12. Sorry but it sounds like your high pressure pump on the engine is goosed then. Are you in the tyme and wear area as ive got one you could try before you buy
  13. It dosant use the sensor when the engine is off. When the ignition is first switched on the ecu performs checks to make sure everything is ok. one of them checks is the hieght of the vehicle the ecu knows that it has depresurised the systemwhen it went to sleep. it also knows by info put in the ecu that to get the car to the preset hieght it must let the pump run for 5 seconds and once it has done that then that part of the ecu switches of and then waits for info from the ride hieght adjusters to tell it weather to increase or decrease the hieght. obviosly this isnt to the letter of what happens its just a basic guide
  14. When you lock the car after a short while the ecu goes to sleep and lowers the car to help ease the pressure on the hydraulic system. As soon as you open the door and wake the ecu up it put the suspension into a preset hieght after that it then relies on the ride hieght adjuster to give it the information as to what height it needs to be at.

  16. does the car start first time or do you have to crank it a few times before it fires up also is there any smoke coming out of the exhaust. If you look at the engine the fuel lines on the drivers side towards the bulk head youl see what looks like a tyre valve (schrieder valve). put the ignition on and press a srewdriver down the schrieder valve and see if the fuel is coming out under pressure (try to collect the petrol so that you can check it for contamination) try this a few times. Have seen the intank pump go lazy a few times they still prime but dosnt get the pressure up a tell tale sign is the petrol you get out starts to turn black
  17. Small engine working its chubs of to keep a big car going. are you carrying any load in the car. Also has it not got a six speed box in it. But in any event i wouldn't worry to much as it will start to blow turbos soon as the 1.6 loves turbos so theyl probably get rid of the car when the turbo bills start to come in
  18. Youl need to do a diagnostic before you can go any further. But with the fault comming abd going so to speak id be thinking along the lines of a electrical fault possibly lose or broken wires
  19. Did the dealers not give you a print out when they done a diagnostic
  20. I would go with randoms advice and try the reset 1st
  21. Was it a decent one or a discount store one as the latter arnt that reliable. also check the wiring going to the mass, If your certain its a maf problem youve got
  22. Think it would depend on how much your willing to pay also how much you want it to do
  23. is it wind blowing in or when you use the heaters. Have you checked for holes in the bulk head etc etc
  24. Its will just get worse if you block it off. The engine needs to breath in order to run correctly missing the service intervals and using shite bits will cause this ( unless the engine is riddled with back pressure). Clean the breather system out by removing all the breather houses and cleaning them thouroghly then a oil and filters change and maybe a flushing oil.
  25. Check the earth to the engine also have you tried bump starting it. if it fires up with a push or a tow then its earth or a starter problem. Also it cant be a R reg as they wernt out then the erliest is Y reg
