If there not both the same engine codes then there might be a problem with the ecu putting the nanagement light on (if the van is obd compliant). But its worth having a go please let us know how you get on as jobs like what your trying are really intresting to me

TAKE IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC AND TELL HIM TO PUT IT RIGHT. Ask him did he wind the calipers back correctly and in oposite directions and did he conect the handbrake cables if hes had them off. getting back to the lights you need to be a bit more informative with your posting otherwise youl get the wrong answers. please answer the following year/model were the lights on before you got the pads replaced did you get the right pads are the brakes working what did the mechanic say about handbrake not working Again if you just answer yes/no to the questions then chances are you wont get a answer so put in as much detail as you can

ok then im back at work on saturday so il pm you the vin number of the car and we can take it from there if there compatable

Ive got a 2001 2 litre hpi that were breaking and it has a good wiring harness on it. the cooling system was fine on it with no probs at all. was thinking of getting the harness to you. How bad was the damage to the fuse box and surrounding area was the ecu wiring damaged. And just a daft one have you checked the earth around were the fire was

Whats your engine code sifaan and would any parts need posting to sri lanka
-
Ok then the fuse box burnt out do you no what caused it. What i would do first is put all your faults under 1 topic because without knowing the full facts youl get wrong and costly answers. In view of the previous fuse box fault you need to start and check all the wires. if you can get hold of the pin data this will make it a lot easier for you. Then start testing the wires. Also your other posting says you are thinking of doing a update on the ecu/bsi i would get your car running correctly 1st otherwise you will just be adding to you problems. if you cant get the pin date then each wire has its own number and can be traced that way from the component e.g coolant sensor wire is 123 (not the actual number) then on one of the plugs in the ecu and fuse box will be a wire with 123 written on it test with a multimeter on both ends to se if you have continuity also check resistence

All symptoms are still there but now car wont stop before I remove my foot from brake pedal ! What do you mean. Think i must be having a of day as i dont understand

have you got access to diagnostic tools with live data if so go into the live data side and see how quick the engine temperature is rising also does the temperature jump up when you put the air con on. If not then your first action is to change the temperature switch and/or the thermostat.Do you have the parts available out there.
-
ok then just to confirm you got the car and you could do the following. drive 2 to 300km with no overheating issues use the aircon with no problems. sit in traffic with no probs. then you take it to garage for timing belt and water pump is changed and system is flushed an bled. you then get car back abd you now have overheating issues. here is that correct or am i going in the wrong direction
-
before you go any further you need to talk to the ecu check the fuses inside the glove box im sure the obd fuse is top row 3rd or 4th from the right also go and get your battery and alternator checked its normally free from the discount stores for a batt/alternator test
-
Hi how long did you have the car before you had the timming belt done and did you have any overheating problems before you got the belt done. Or has all these problems just happend since the coolant was drained off also does the garage you use no how to bleed the coolant system as you dont just put water in and go as this problem sound to me that it either hasnt been bled properly or you have a sticky thermostat. While we get away with it in england due to the weather its critical that your system is filled up properly due to your high outside temperatures

And the last keeper was right. All the ones ive had have had high bitting points on the plus side it stops the drivers from riding the clutch. So dont worry and just enjoy your c5

Hi to make the job as easy a possible try this make sure the engine is cold Remove the air filter housing and the long black hose that goes to the back of the engine. If you have the top engine cover on (black square one with hdi written on it) go to the right hand side of the cover and roughly in the middle of it look down youl see loads of black water pipes and in the middle of then youl see your temp unit. Its green in colour and as john says has a 2 wire multi plug remove plug then remove sensor with 17 or 19 mm socket. just unscrew it out and screw new one in then reconect the multi plug. No special procedures or diagnostics needed. If you havent got the black engine cover on the engine then just follow the top rediator hose and youl come to the same spot

To turn them on and off put your ignition on and press and hold the end of the light stalk in. Youl hear a bong and display will say auto lights on/off
-
Dont think you can. Some models have a switch next to the stereo that will switch the all but the spedo lights off. What year and model is yours also you might just need bulbs
-
What a excellent idea. Would love to no the proper previous history of some of the cars ive had. can this be posted in the c5 section aswell
-
yes put your foot down and the car will go faster. I take it that you have a concern regarding your car. Tell the whole story with as much detail as you can and youl get a good choice of answers mileage when the fault happens is it permenant can you bring the fault on are there any warning lights on the dash any other symptons and and and why do you think its not got a turbo
-
We get the cable and the tube it really is easier. Try the inner cable first and if you cant do it then get the outer tube as they can be bought seperate
-
Have a quick look at the exhaust to see if it hasnt got a plastic bag round it.
-
If you do a search on this forum about the heater youl see that its a cheap and easy fix and well within the scope of a diyer. The smell is it just when you first start it up and does it smell of eggs
-
Take it you mean the outside temp and not the engine. It cant be reset its shagged and youl find it on the bottom of the passenger mirror (little nipple on the bottom of it). So you can either live with it or replace the whole sensor
-
Do yourself a favour and buy the inner and outer cable as youl never be able yo do it the haynes way as its a proper pain. Done loads of these and it easier this way . Youl need to remove or push to one side the heat shields next to the exhaust then a 10mm bolt were it fastens to the chassis leg and just pull the whole lot out.Youl also need to lift the center console unless you have acsess to a small child with 9 fingers on a 8ft arm. Just remember the cables are sided

Thats a fine choice. Your engine should be quieter now
