Hi have never done the 2.2 injectors plenty of 2 litres though. I would imagine it would be farly straight forward and that what ever you put back in (new.old, recond) will just go straight in and seal up there is no timming or anything like that to worry about. If your not sure get your digi camera out and take photo every step of the way thatb way youl no how to. put it back together. It really is a straight forward job ps when you pull the injector out whatch for the sealing ring sumtimes they stay in the head and not the injector youl need to replace the sealing ring and they are available everywhere and cost coppers.

c5 2001 2.0l hdi 185k automatic car developed a gear fault last night on the transmission it wont change gear and crawls along at 2-3 mph this was after 2 hours of running driver said the the display read automatic gear fault. Plugged car into ethos scanner went to gearbox and no fault codes found. checked the oil level in gearbox and it seemed fine this took about a hour in total. went to take car out of garage and hey presto everything was fine car drove as normal so put car and driver out to work. 20 mins later came back with same fault only this time drivers say there was a horible burning smell so car parked up for the night. Went to car this morning and drove perfect then when warmed up back came the faults. so drained and refilled the gearbox car drove fine then when warmed up fault back. So we then disconected the battery left it for a hour and reconected it car drove perfect for a hour this time then wouldnt drive done battery again and car drove perfect also works in sports mode but wont go up hill in sports mode ( its feels the same as when the clutch has gone on a manual box loads of revs with no movement) so in a nutshell reset the battery and car runs fo a hour then has to be reset or you loose transmission. cant complain as the box has 185k on the clock so had me money out of it was wondering if anyone has any ideas Was thinking of putting a manual box in as i have a car for spares so all parts are there if so would the ecu need to be altered would it show faultcodes up if it didnt get the autobox sensor inputs or would it just run as normal or does it have to have another auto g/box put in Any comments or thoughts greatly accepted

Suspension Raising - Different Problem
coastline taxis replied to djash1000's topic in C5 - Technical
Hi start by raising the vehicle of the ground and put axle stand under the sills with the w heels clear. go under and try and move the arm and see if the rear wheels adjust . If arm wont move then wire brush it and use wd40 use the straw that comes with it to get as far into it as you can slowly working the lever. Then do yourself a favour and go wild with the wd while your under there do bushes, pipes, cables, nuts, bolts everything in sight (apart from the rear brake pads) you cant harm anything. you might have to use the wd over a couple of days to allow it to penatrate -
Obviosley there is a faullt and the garage is just clearing the fault code and not fixing the cause. read the fault code number the resolve the issue by replacing or fixing the fault then reset mil (malfunctin indication lamp)

Would you really want to take the chance?. I know diesel is expensive but beer at £2.50 a pint = £20.00 a gallon so its not that bad. And if you look at the cost of given you one gallon of fuel to one gallon of beer. Plus there might even be legal issues with running on cooking oil. When i got caught running on the red diesel the fine was for running on unrebated fuel (not for using red but for not having paid duty on road fuel). So if using it for fuel on the road i would think that you would be in the same boat i was in if you got stopped. Please dont take my last statement as fact of law as i could be wrong its just as i see it. Also consider your diesel pump and management system would it want to run on it also any waranty on the vehicle wich i would imagine would become void as soon as you put it in your tank. Rather you than me anyway best of luck in whatever you put in your tank look forward to reading it on here. steve

Have only been on this site a short while and find it invaluble.Anyone with a bit of common sense can scroll through pages of information and save money. My compliments to those who make it possible. The only fault that i can find is that when someone comes onto the forum asking for help. people then take the time to reply to them and help them sometimes this is over a period of weeks and several emails. Most work full time so to take time out and do this makes them decent people (in my opinion). So the very least that should be done after you come and get your help of them is to let them know that there advice has worked instead of just vanashing of the site till you have another problem. A 2 minite email makes it all worth while to them and helps others many thanks

Suspension Raising - Different Problem
coastline taxis replied to djash1000's topic in C5 - Technical
There is a load sensing valve on the rear axle.when punters get in and car goes down it activates the valve wich in turn tells the ecu/pump to level the car out to a preset position. get the vehicle on a ramp (if your doing it yourself with a jack make sure that you put hieght to full and use axle stand on the sills or the car will come down on you)and check the lsv to make sure its moving freelyif not try wire brushing then loads of wd 40also may sound daft but you have got suspension fluid in to right level. let me know if any better cheers steve p.s what bourgh are you working in and are you as quiete as us in south shields as only shift worth working at moment is a saturday -
Suspension Raising - Different Problem
coastline taxis replied to djash1000's topic in C5 - Technical
Hi anychance you could explain a bit more. you say that when you turn engine of it raises up . when you restart the engine does it lower itself again or stay raised. also when car is idleing can it raise and lower itself via the ride level buttons. also when you lock the vehicle does it lower itself then when you unlock it does it raise itself. have you been raising and lowering the suspension via the switches in th car weekly or have you left it in one setting for months on end -
Airfilter housing just pulls out. if you look down in between airfilter an radiator where the a/f attaches to the big air hose youle see a clip just push it in with your thumb and pull the case up

hi if you send me your email address il send you a copy of a manual i have. its all in english and tells you anything you need to know about a c5 theres a section on auto boxes with diagrams how to drain and fill and check everything
-
hi if you rmove the tray from underneath then go to the bottom of the gearbox just under the pass side driveshaft you will see the drain plug. youll need if memory serves me right its a 19mm square drive undo it and see how much comes out should be about 3 litres. if theres not that much comes out and your vehicle has less than 100k on the clock then i would just refill and try. to refill it remove the air filter look down and youl see three bolts holding the g/box mounting onto the chassis take the weight of the g/box on a jack and remove the mounting and youl find the filler plug there (on occasions in the past i have yoused the speedo drive to refill) itl take 3 litre. once done leave you car ticking over till the oil gets pumped around before driving it. the filter is a little bit more involved but is now way frightnen if you have a bit common sense let me no if you need info.
-
hi sorry for delay in answering but been away.its the oil and filter clean in the gearbox that was done. there is no way of checking the oil level on the box so just drain it all out and refill with correct amount filler plug is under the g/box top mounting. as it sounds like low fluid in the box. hope this helps
-
hi possible cheaper repair could be to remove steering rack and take it to local propshaft services where they could overhall the u/j hope it helps
-
hi had this fault on one of my c5s when was the last time you changed the oil and cleaned the filter out. i take it that it dosnt happen all the time. on mine it was just when the driver drove it a bit livley or kept switching between manual and automatic mode. one oil and filter chamge later and the car drives perfect

Problems With Clutch & Power Steering !
coastline taxis replied to von.123's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
hi what year, size, mileage and does it do it when engine at idle or when driving.when was oil last checked in g/box. also i would try listing this topic in the problems and fixes section under c5 -
;) car has got 160,000n on the clock. its a o2 and ive had it on taxis since 04 and there not been a bit of bother with the clutch. like ive said early i have 3 of these rented out to drivers and they are no trouble at all.each car comes in once a month and i just go round every nut, bolt, and screw and nip them up also go berserk with wd40 on everything in sight. also things like changing brake and clutch fluid at regular intervals keeps them in good workin order.

how much for the whole car if its still in one piece
