Sorry forgot to say it is showing no fault codes. Volts to sensors before and after are right just that sensors arnt ready
-
Hi replaced 4 valves after belt snaping now car struggling to idle reves up loveley. job was done right as ive done them before. So plugged into scanner went to live data and it says that both o2 sensors before and after cat are "not ready" so i know thats me problem but having checked wiring and fuses all ok took both sensor out cleaned them even swapped them from a different c5 and they work in other car. Any suggestions please steve forgot to mention car was bought with snapped belt so dont know if the fault was already there or not
-
Yes swap away its the back ones that are diferent. But play it safe and let car stand for 5 mins with key out then take negative lead of the battery then disconect the the multiplugs under the seats then make sure you reconect the multiplugs on the new seats then reconect the battery(as you dont want the airbags going off). When you reconnect battery wait 5 mins b4 putting your key in ignition or pressing any buttons on fob or youl gat an immobiliser fault showing start enginge and let it tick over for 5 mins

HA ha just a suggestion would it be an easy job to add a section to regestration onto site for car details so that people know what make etc etc or is it just not viable. best regards steve

Hi its a faulty comms unit very common fault your best bet is to just learn to live with it or try local breakers but youl probally find that almost every secondhand one will have the airbag fault on it.

Hi techbod c5s go into economy mode after a preset time when the ecu detects a power drain when engine is not running (good idea in theory as it switches everything of and leaves the battery with power to start the car but theory and practice are 2 different things). The only way to get it of (that i know of) is to start the engine then windows and all other components will work normally
-
Check the crankshaft sensor as it sends a signal to the ecu to tell the injectors when to open and also to coil pack to tell it when to fire. Its an easy check 10mm spanner move a few hoses out the way and itl be out in 10 mins steve

has the clutch been slipping or did it just fail. if it has destroyed iyself it may have took the crankshaft sensor unit with it and this would stop the engine runnig and give you no spark. The AA may well of plugged it in but i belive there are only 3 types that can actually get into citroen fault codes properly (could be wrong on that bit). so start by checking the crank sensor

You need to get the lds fluid up to max and leave it to stand over night. Just reading thru topic again and you said that you jacked one side of car up and then the other side came up so i take it that nearly all the wait of the car was on one point. Im fairly certain that the front load valve is conectected to the anti roll bar and the forces on this when the car was jacked up will have been imense as it trys to keep the car level. Check the lever on the load valve as it might have been forced past its stop position thereby keeping the suspension locked down or better still take it of and check/clean it.Have you tryed phoning your citreon dealer ask for workshop and see if theyve come across it b4 as there fairly helpfull. steve

many thanks will do that tomorrow. now just getting another c5 through this site anyway its 2.0litre petrol y reg. And the belt has snapped is it a head off job or like on some ive worked on are the rollers that push the valves down designed to snap as ive had a quick look and see that the cams will come out without having to remove the head. I cant do a comp test as i dont have the extension piece to go down the spark plug port many thanks steve

Hi all c5 18 51 plate 60k spedo, revs, fuel, temp gauges all keep going to park position for 2 to 5 seconds then come back to running reading when vehicle is driving, does not afect the car in any other way and runs fine. fault is intermitent and only happens 2 to 3 times a day. no trouble codes detected and no ignition lights on when the needles drop. got a feeling its the instrument cluster just looking for confirmation or a direction to start at. Its a problem that could be lived with if it wasnt rented out but with the price of fuel the look on the drivers face was fantastic when he thought customers were going free as no speedo=no meter=free taxi ride steve

Have you topped fluid up and checked wiring and fuses?.
-
Are you anywhere near the tyne and wear area
-
When the engine fault light comes on the car is going into limp home mode to stop aymore damage been done to the engine. was the garage a citroen dealer or independant or was it the first garage you come across that you took it to.

check wiring to switches on console and to laod valves also id be checkig every fuse in the fusebox also all fuses in the engine bay. earlier you said that the susp/fluid was just above the minimum you then jack the car up and put it on a angle causing what fluid is in it to run to one side whilst at that angle the suspension activates itself could the system have pulled air in via the reservoir. Think it might pay you to top fluid up and try bleeding the system. Is there any signs of a leak under the vehicle

Think i would maybe start by cheching the anti sink valve as if faulty it would stop the car cumming up. Ive never had any dealings with these so check with others first as i may be pointing you in the wrong direction or phone the dealers and ask one of the lads in te workshop. although i do know that there are 2 cit/techniks on hear so your probally in the best place anyway
