  2. Maybe the oil was not low enough to activate the sensor? and was probably just a faulty temperature sensor? Did the AA guy say how much oil was used to top it up? and have you checked the level since?
  3. I would say 1,000 miles per litre is probably within acceptable limits set by the manufacturer, even though I would not be too happy about it. Oil consumption is often high on a new car for first 20,000 miles. Oil level warning lights should never be relied upon !! You should check your oil at least every week.
  4. Well, I am considering doing some contract work in the USA next year, and was curious to find out if they have any C4's over there. I was surprised to find out (or maybe not) the following:- 1. Can I buy a new Citroen in the USA? No. Citroen sold its last new car in 1973 (a Citroen SM). However, several independent grey-market importers picked up the Citroen mantle and imported Citroens up until about 1995. Most notably, these companies were Target and Fournet (2CV importers until about 1989, Target imported them as kitcars and Fournet as refurbished cars), Trend Imports (CX Diesel importers until about 1982), EuroCar (CX IE importers until 1987) and CXA or CX Automotive (importers of the CX IE and XM V6 until 1995). Unfortunately, in the last several years, the DOT (the US Department of Transportation) and EPA (the automotive branch of the Environmental Protection Agency) have tightened their requirements to a point that it is no longer financially feasible for an independent importer to bring in cars. 2. Can I import a Citroen into the USA? Yes and no. No Citroens newer than 25 years old cannot be legally imported into the USA without going through a complicated and expensive compliance red-tape courtesy of the DOT and EPA (see question #1). But, any Citroen, 25 years or older, can be brought into the USA without having to be complied. " Under 49 U.S.C. § 30112(B)(9) (formerly section 108(i) of the Act), "any motor vehicle that is at least 25 years old" is not subject to importation restrictions. All vehicles less than 25 years old must be determined eligible for importation by one of the following methods before the vehicle may be imported under contract with a Registered Importer as described in the Vehicle Importation Guidelines. " I would hate to be without my C4, so that puts me off going across the pond for a start! :o
  5. If you only do 3,000 miles per year then it makes sense to change the oil, but then again, why not just buy a bus pass :P ;)
  6. Thanks for the info :P
  7. http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/7928/ldwsvz8.jpg I thought the item highlighted was a LDWS sensor? But I think you are going to tell me, that it is a front parking sensor?
  8. Nice pics, thanks :) Two of those C4, have LDWS by the looks of it. Next time, park the hatches at one end before taking photo. :o :o :o

Hmmm... I will try just holding the key next time... thanks.
  10. Looks pretty darn clear to me :o Very nice :o

    C4 Meet

Mine is a diesel, and I have managed not to get diesel on my hands so far and have now covered 44k in the C4 :D LOL :) :) I must be holding it wrong then :P

    C4 Meet

Try that with a diesel  You end up with hands covered and smelling of diesel, or at least I did last time I tried that.

How do you close the window? Hold the lock button on the key down for about 3 or 4 seconds.

Ahhh...I see what you mean now :) It's not really much effort to lift the hatch. The most annoying thing for me about the C4 is the fuel filler door is not lockable, and you have to use the key in the actual cap. It's not very safe when filling up, to have your car key left on the pump or on the car, where anyone could just steal the keys from under your nose. I mean they make all that effort with the security pack, and deadlocks etc, but you have to leave your keys wide open to anyone.

When I open the car, the boot also opens for me. I thought that was normal?

My boot opens with the key fob? I think? Not sure what you mean? :)

    Speakers

Thanks wozza. I knew you would know how to do it

    Speakers

How do I remove the C4 door speakers, and the rear ones. I am considering replacing them with something better, but not a mobile disco, as in wozza's C4.

Do they not do a C4 with a built in camera ? :) :) I believe even phones have them in now B) Hint Hint :D
  21. Well, I was wondering..... Why is the C4 forum the most active ? Is it the drugs we are all taking?
  22. Hello and welcome to the forum. What you need is a 9706AG cable which Citroen/Peugeot dealers supply. The cable comes in two sections. The first terminates in a 3.5mm socket, which allows you to plug the supplied 3.5mm extension cable which has a 3.5mm plug at both ends. If you search the forum this cable has been mentioned many times. You also need to get the extra AUX input enabled on your radio by a Citroen dealer, or if they are fitting the cable, they will do this anyway. Expect to pay between £60 to £90 to get it fully installed.
  23. As far as I know, there is no chipped solution for the 2.0 HDi with Siemens ECU.

    C4 Meet

Unfortunately I cannot be at the meet this weekend as I am expecting a visitor. If we can have a meet further south next time that would be better. :o Hope that those going have a good time.
  25. No. :) Nothing else looks as good as a C4 Coupé, in the same price range, and in my opinion nothing feels as good to drive as good as a C4 either. :o :D :D
