It is a thin layer of plastic film which is not visible unless you inspect the car very closely. Reduces the risk of stone chips.
-
Supaguard is a waste of money IMO. I have had my VX Armourfended which is a much more worthwhile product.
-
Speed cameras on roundabouts? Never seen that before
-
Spotted a Scott Yellow VTS Coupe driven by a lady on my way to Selsey near Chichester earlier today. Anyone on here?
-
I think mine must have been one of the early Orientals. When did you get yours?

£15k to spend on insurance, seems ludicrous to me. Whatever you buy in that price bracket you will effectively be waving goodbye to thousands of pounds within 6 months. That is of course if you can get insured in the first place. As Wozza said, it is easy to buy the car but maintaining is another story. Yes it is more than likely a TVR will cost in excess of £1500 a year and thats for a Chim or Griff. A Ferrari such as the 360 is more reliable and less expensive to run than the 355, but either will be costly. I'd go for an Exige and insure yourself as a named driver on a parent's policy, albeit I wouldn't condone that. Insurance on Westfields/Caterhams is stupidly cheap for young drivers, mine was only £400 when I was 21. Whatever you go for you probably won't want to drive it in the rain, unless you want to crash.
-
Hey presto, electrified mirrors. Attach to the door handles too, to deter thieves.
-
I agree. Invest the majority of the money and buy a fun cheaper car. I can recommend Westfields as a good car to start with for rwd experience.
-
Presumably you are not too worried about depreciation as you are going to get buggered on a Sagaris and an Atom. There are a couple of atoms on Pistonheads.com at the moment, one of which has the blower. Not sure what I'd spend £35k on, probably wouldn't, I'd rather spend the money on something stupidly quick and much cheaper and that would hold its value and then put the rest in a high interest account. Have you ever driven a quick rwd car on the road? Not sure the Atom is ideal to start with plus they are fooking freezing. If you want a daft car go for the Lotus 340R which you are slightly less likely to kill yourself in. Either way, enjoy
-
Surely you'd be best off going for a 2nd hand 1.6 turbo diesel, quicker than the 1.4? and mine returns 54mpg.
-
could that be down to that its not their car so it gets abused? where as if you buy it yourself the youll look after it? Could be true for some of them, but I look after my C4 as if I owned it. Cleaned regularly and driven with mechanical sympathy. I will probably be ordering the new Mondeo in 2007 if it looks as good in the flesh as the launch photos.

The company I work for has a few Citroens, C5s and C4s all have been equally unreliable, so much so they have been dropped from the car list. Perhaps they can't cope with over average mileage. I agree they look good and come with lots of toys but Citroen ought not to get ahead of themselves with technology and concentrate on build quality. I've never had a car which has had 4/5 recalls and 16 trips back to the dealer before.
-
In danger of going off topic and someone complaining again. I don't think the C4 would be too hot on the track but saying that, you can enjoy yourself on a track in any car, just make sure you have insurance to do so. Yes got the VX home, 140miles of back and ear numbing fun. Been off work sick since and not been able to drive it. Also it is having to live outdoors as my garages are full of kitchen/bathroom as the house is being gutted.
-
I really enjoyed the day and will probably do it again. Best of all it's not your car so you can drive it however you like.
-
Don't think there is a lower age limit on the Lotus day. Can't harm to give them a call. http://www.grouplotus.com/media/car/doc/LO...20RES%20SYS.pdf No cameras allowed though!
-
If you are looking for some track experience for not a lot of money then I can recommend the Lotus experience. For £99 you get half an hour in a 111R Elise round the Lotus test track followed by a high speed lap from the instructor and an hour and a half tour of the factory. Plus you get to drive it like you stole it and no one cares.

That would mean I would have to change the oil and filter on a monthly basis! I have owned cars before with 20k service intervals and rarely had a problem in between services and the cars have gone on to do over 100k. I'd be amazed if a Citroen could last 20k without something falling off or ceasing to work.

I have a "Three" personal phone and have been with them for 4 years. The choice of phones is good along with the tariff. I pay £25 and get 500 mins to any network 500 texts, 25 MMS/Video Messages, 30mb internet usage and £5 of downloads, pretty good eh. Best of all coverage is as good and I get a free upgrade every 11months, I currently have an Ericsson K800i. Reception is better than my company 02 mobile.
-
Probably not that hard to get off as the badges have fallen off the back of mine.
-
Personally I wouldn't bother with the extra expense. I quite happily run my vx220 on 95RON, can't notice any difference when filling up with 99RON V-Power. Bigger engines you certainly notice a difference, my Z3M had to be run on 98 or would pink and my fathers Porsche/TVRs were always run on 98 for the same reason. If obtaining an extra horse power is what you are after try BP102 or alternatively get a quicker car in the first place.
-
The handbook recommends 98RON because I don't believe you can get anything lower in France. Stick to 95 and save yourself some money

It does appear to be a minority of us with problems however the problems seem to be recurring and they are not individual to my car yet Citroen don't have a remedy or the inclination to sort them. My main gripe is that the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced, and I have now visited 5 different main dealers. Citroen are doing nothing to change their poor reputation.
-
Wahey, finally I am not the only one with a sh1te C4. Mine has loads of problems too and Citroen are unable/unwilling to sort any of them
-
5litre is the bored 3.5 still the Rover V8. The TVR V8 is the AJP 4.2 and 4.5 both of them are incredibly unreliable too, spotting a pattern yet?! Should have stuck with the Rover lump, sorted the electrics and screwed the cars together properly and they would sell a bit better.
