the last one i fitted to a picasso the electrics just piggy backed into one of the rear light clusters. just unpluged rear lamp multiplug, pluged in tow bar electrics (back of tail lamp) and pluged tail lamp multiplug into tow bar harnes. had to bolt 1 earth to the back panel and ran a wire up inside l/h parcel shelf trim for indicator buzzer. simple as that. cant see why you can't get one like this for xsara.

a little bit of usless trivia while on the subject of gearboxes but did you know the first gearbox citroen produced had odd shaped teeth on the gearing. they were the same shape as the chevrons on the citroen badge so now you know why you have that funny sign on the front of you cars. am i sad or what.

the radios in c4s are multiplexed and the mute wire is most probs the signal wire from the mute button on steering wheel and not a normal mute wire like most head units. every phone kit i've fitted to c4s i have had to put another ctrl box that works with the phone kit between the head unit and the speakers. all it does is switch between phone kit and head unit when phone is in use. it does not mute the set it just disconnects the speakers from it and connects them to the phone kit and this is how yours must work.

having a bit bother with this at work. roof and tailgate wont open. checked with lexia and found roof casette showing open when shut. checked micro switches and all switching ok. checked diagram and found switches to be piggy backed so no way of checking at ecu (ones down there all down). had to send car out for weekend but coming back in next week. think its got to be wiring break some where. any ideas.

air bag ecu will need to be replaced anyway if air bag has gone off and dont think they have fuel cut off on diesels.

about £1400 depending on condition and model

just press down one of the valves on ac circit and see if theres any pressure.

if it has a radio control under the wiper stalk it can be fitted unless its a 1600 petrol as this has a normal throttle cable. all you need is the stalk and a ecu config. think you will need to buy a steering wheel for c3 as thats where cc controls are. ive never done a c3 so not sure.

its where the inner b-post panel lies over the top of the inner roof panel. they just need prising away from each other with a screwdrive.

3 Year Servicing Costs, Advice Needed.
iannez replied to maxsara's topic in Questions about the Citroen Xsara
we charge £240 for 3rd year service (main dealer. north east). what youve been quoted is a rip off. did they not ask for your shoes aswell. -
you sure there is voltage at bulb holders when pressing brake pedal.
-
flasher unit for indicators would be my first guess.

they all work of the same ariel m8. there is a amplifier behind the trim on the left hand side of drivers footwell but not sure if that works with tm. if you drop the head cloth under ariel you will see three wires going on to it. nearly sure cable runs behind dash and up behind drivers a post trim.

the hight adjuster is a little black box with a arm coming out and is connected to the anti roll bar and axle. it is quite easy to change. but would recomend doing it on a four post lift. if you try to adjust it on the floor it could drop the rear of car and squash you. not a good idea to get under a c5. replace box and loosen collar on anti roll bar (moving collar will adjust hight of rear) set car in normal driving hight and move collar untill car sits level then tighten collar. you will understand better when you see it. it is just off centre (to the drivers side) of the axle. cant stress enough how dangerous it is to crawl under a c5 so be carefull

they chaged sides at some point i think. you must have wrong hand book. try other side

the reverse sensors run into a ecu and are then multiplexed to the bsi. dont think you will be able to run them off after market radio.

the easy way to tell the diffrence between 110 and 90 is hazard light switch. 90 has 1 big switch and 110 its split in two to make way for esp switch.
-
its easier if you remove battery. leave car for about half an hour after removing the back of the light to give them time to discharge. the plug just pulls off the back of bulb. £60 - £80 per bulb so be careful. we've changed them under warrenty as they are supposed to last for years, worth a try.
-
the lds level is set when in low and you have a seized hight adjuster.
-
dont think fuel pump would cause polution fault. the 2.2 16v engines have a fuel additive called eloys. sounds like its running low. the eloys tank needs refilling at about 80k so yours is some where near. changed loads of fuel pumps and never had anti polution fault. oh and dont tar us with the same brush. try anouther dealer if your not happy.

the drivers side washer jet drips water onto the injector directley below it causing it to short out and that then shorts out the coil. you always have to change both. if you get new injector you will see the holes ether side is filled with white sealer and the old ones arnt. i always remove other 3 and seal them up while i've got the rail off.
