Which trip computer are you looking at there are 3 MPG readings, the first is instant MPG (like an economy meter) the 2nd and 3rd are over a distance since last reset. I use the 2nd as a between fill ups reading and the 3rd as an overall reading (since I bought the car). You can reset the 2nd or 3rd by holding in the button on the end of the wiper stalk. I would reset one of the trips and find a nice A road that you can do about 10 miles of driving on at 60MPH, you should see an improved MPG figure. My Pluriel was giving closer to 40MPG from its 1.6 petrol engine. Ian Black 55 VTR+

You could always go down the Mac Mini route, put that in the glovebox and you have a Mac/Windows dual boot machine all in one neat box. http://www.macvroom.com/Macd-Ride-2006-BMW-325 http://www.classicresto.com/mambo/index.ph...&id=72&Itemid=2 http://www.macvroom.com/Macd-Ride-1994-Che...4x4-S-10-Blazer http://www.macvroom.com/node/29 http://minidock.jp/en/index.html You might even be able to hack into the Citroen GPS screen these guys have hacked standard in car systems http://www.macvroom.com/Hacked-Prius-In-dash-Display http://www.macvroom.com/Hacked-Audi-A6-Nav...igation-Display Ian Black 55 VTR+

Might as well wait for the C4 Diesel/Eletric Hybrid giving 69MPG, that way you still get a 1.6 HDi engine and just run off the battery in town. With CO2 emissions of 90 g/km which means VED band A, zero car tax :D http://www.greencarcongress.com/2006/01/ps...eugeot_cit.html http://www.businessweek.com/autos/content/...age_new+hybrids Ian Black 55 VTR+

The arch seals are very sensitive to how the arches are taken off and put back on. I always took my time when putting the arches back on the car making sure all the rubber was located correctly and nothing was caught. In fact the arch seal update was a free fix. If you go to http://www.c3pluriel.org.uk/ and look in the Questions section and the question Why is my Pluriel wet inside you can see the difference in the old and new seals. As for the puddles in footwells this is caused by water not draining correctly from the bottom of the door and the water is actually coming in over the top of the kick plate not falling from the roof area. This is a common problem on many soft top cars. Just look up websites for the MGF, BMW Z3, Fiat Barchetta. Part of this problem is the frameless windows (where you would usually find a gutter on a hard top). In a soft top more draining water from the roof falls through the door and exits via drain holes at the bottom of the doors. If these holes become clogged or the rubber seal at the bottom of the door is squeezed in the wrong way (and it is different each time the door is shut) you can get puddles in your footwells. Insurance like most financial services is target driven. Each company targets a different area of the market, either women only, the over 50's etc etc (I think it is the only industry allowed to get away with blatent sexist and ageist policies towards clients). You may find that at the end of a target period (maybe month end) any compnay that has not met it's quota of a specific class of motorist will offer a great deal. Best thing to do is use a broker to shop around for you or trawl the internet. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Welcome rikebo I have had my 5dr VTR+ 1.6HDi (110bhp) since new in December. If you are doing lots of motorway miles and keep between 65mph and 70mph on the cruise control you should get between 50 and 55 mpg which means over 600 miles per tank of fuel. Around town mpg can drop to the low 40's. You can get enticed by the toys and rely on them too much. Remember you can override the auto lights and wipers as they can become confused. I found bright sunlight (when the sun is low in the sky) can set off the wipers B) I find the car is great to drive and at it's best on long motorway drives. Very smooth and quiet. The only difference you may find between yours and the newer models is that it is not Euro IV compliant. Ian Black 55 VTR+

The shocks on mine don;t seem to have too much travel if going over a large bump the front seems to knock and when fully loaded with passengers the car cannot handle bumps as well Ian Black 55 VTR+

Roof leaks, broken seat trim and various other bits. The Pluriel was a great concept poorly executed. I got rid of mine before the warranty ran out and just after the whole roof cassette needed replacing due to it depositing buckets of water in the middle of the boot. Ian Black 55 VTR+

My black 5 door VTR+ has those wheels, 17" Resolfen. Citroen site has the following wheels as standard styling specs: 5 Door LX & 3 Door VT - 15" full width 'Arromanche' wheel trims 5 Door SX & 3 Door VTR - 16" 'Radicale' alloy wheels 5 Door VTR+, 3 Door VTR+ & 3 Door VTS - 17" 'Resolfen' alloy wheels 5 Door Exclusive - 17" 'Toka-Toka' alloy wheels Of the 4 wheel options I prefer the Resolfen although being 17" the cost of the rubber for them (when the time comes for new tyres) will not be cheap. The citroen.com website has details, but they are in French http://www.citroen.com/CWW/fr-FR/RANGE/Pri...fault/X-TR.htm# and if you search the site make sure you put the hyphen in, x-tr, or you don't get many results. The rest of Europe has already reviewed the car... http://www.autoweek.nl/newsdisp.php?cache=no&ID=2598 http://www.autoweek.nl/newsdisp.php?cache=no&ID=4038 http://www.infomotori.com/a_12_IT_2745_1.html http://www.autowereld.com/autonieuws/detai...sp?artikel=2708 http://www.citroen.be/promotions/descripti...NL.aspx?menu=m2 and these guys can tune the engine for you... http://www.dieseltuninguk.com/47.html Ian Black 55 VTR+

I think SNOW MODE is one of the most dangerous features of the sensodrive box especially as it tends to cut in just as you are pulling out of a junction or onto a roundabout. I almost got caught out once as the car spent 5 seconds changing modes and after that always left much more time when performing these manouvres in my Pluriel. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Yes once the engine is running after all the startup checks have completed that symbol is telling you the indicator shows engine temperature. During the pre/ignition checking you should see OIL OK and the number of miles until the next service is due (at the top of the indicator). During this time the bars are showing oil level (I think). That's all part of Citroen's cunning plan, so you have to buy a new car when the warranty runs out :) There was no way I was going to run my Pluriel with no warranty. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Just broke a new barrier in my 1.6HDi (110) over 600 miles on 1 tank :) Actually did 632.7 with a claimed 35 miles until empty showing. Had to put in 54.31 litres (11.95 gallons) to achieve this. Giving close to 53mpg. The car now thinks it can go 733 miles until the next fill up (but I suspect this is optimistic). The car had been giving about 50mpg but on the last couple of tanks seems to have gone to 52mpg (in real terms this is the difference between about 560ish and 610ish miles between fill ups. So at just over 6,000 miles the engine must be starting to loosen up. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Thanks Lee that's brilliant, I have to admit it was starting to get annoying. Now I can tell the dealer exactly what to check for and don't have to take any BS as I know there is at least 1 other owner who had the same problem. Thanks again Ian Black 55 VTR+

I have been in owners clubs where comments were made about dealers. In this ever litigious World it might be worth just making good comments about dealers who provide best service and just not listing the bad ones. In this way no one can get sued for liable and also only the recommended garages get a mention (and business). Ian Black 55 VTR+

The problem with taking it to a dealer is that the fault cannot be repeated on demand. I had thought the issue was to do with overfilling the fuel tank but now the fault has happened twice with a half empty or less tank. The other problem is even when the fault happens as soon as you turn the engine off and on again the fualt is cleared. I still think is has to do with a sensor in the fuel system but don't want the car taken to pieces just to cure it. I will mention the problem at the 12,500 mile service and see what is said. And I agree that the CHECK button just tells you stuff you already knew, auto wipers/light on/off etc nothing particularly useful. Ian Black 55 VTR+
-
Can now discount the overfilling the tank theory as the failure is now occuring at least once per tank of fuel. Last time at about a 1/2 a tank and the time before at 1/4 of a tank. Also noticed the failure message which comes up on the radio display: SPEED REGULATOR SYSTEM FAILURE Have to say that you don't really notice the error message as your eye is drawn to the orange SERVICE light not down to the radio display and the message goes off after a couple of seconds. The fault is still cured by turning off the engine and turning it on again. Ian Black 55 VTR+

Snow mode is a function of the sensodrive gearbox and depends upon a few sensors. I think a couple of the conditions required are: Outside temp less than 3 deg C One or more wheels slipping (might be the ABS sensors that handle this) If your car is entering snow mode when none of these things are happening then there is either a problem with a sensor giving a wrong reading or the computer working out if the car should be in snow mode or not (sensodrive software/hardware). Has your dealer checked all of the above? Ian Black 55 VTR+

According to the Citroen website the VTS spec C2 does not have a speed limiter. The only way to get one is the luxury option pack on the SX and Start Stop models. It does have a Self-programmable audible over-speed warning which you use by getting to the speed you want and holding the button in. Then every time you reach that speed the car beeps at you. Have Citroen started spec swapping again? The switch for cruise control and speed limiting in the C4 is marked REG (regulate) and LIM (limit) there are also + - and Pause buttons to change settings. Do you have any buttons like that? To set the limiter in the C4 you set the switch to LIM use the + and - buttons to set the speed and press the Pause button to turn the function on. Engine management will also need time to adjust to the different fuel as it will have to change timings. I tried Optimax a few years ago when I had a Fiat barchetta, yes it improves throttle response but I didn't feel the price difference made it worth it. For lots of technical info about fuel from someone who works in the industry look at this web page http://www.fiatbarchetta.com/btech/petrol.html Then you might reconsider how you feel about certain products. I wonder if you can get Citroen to pay any speeding fines becasue there is a know fault with the accelerator. Sorry officer the car needs a new aceelerator, here is my recall letter. Ian Black 55 VTR+
-
I would get an independent quote on repairing the paintwork. For £850 you could almost get the car fully resprayed. I suspect the payment is actually to cover the difference in value of the 2 cars due to age/mileage. Have a look on www.autotrader.co.uk (I found at least ten 2 year old Pluriel with under 20k on the clock for around £6,500) and at other Citroen dealers and see what they are quoting for similar Pluriel then compare that to the deal you are being offered. Also remember a dealer will try to buy a car from you at about £2,000 less than they will try to sell it for on the forecourt. Ian BLack 55 VTR+

If you don't have the car with you why carry the remote? Just leave it on the hall table. Ian Black 55 VTR+

and the Germans, Italians, Swiss, Spanish, rest of Europe, Americans, etc etc. Remember RHD cars are a minority in terms of a global market. The fact you have to use the passenger door to get into the car is only a real pain if the remote key is not working and you have a narrow garage. Ian Black 55 VTR+
