  1. If you have the Bluetooth module and a mobile phone that plays MP3's could you set up a wireless link???? Ian Black 55 VTR+
  2. This also helps to keep premiums down From this website http://dws.keycast.com/DWS/CF/Default.aspx...94&infid=171486 Ian Black 55 VTR+
  3. They should just say we don't want to cover you. A few years ago I went through all the question with an insurer on the phone and then when it got to the part where they were about to tell me the quote they said..."We don't insure that car". Just another case of "The computer says NO". Rather than just waste time they should ask the questions that would stop them covering you in the 1st minute of the conversation not after 20 minutes of interrogation. The reason they wouldn't cover me was because the car was left hand drive. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  4. Which would indicate the car calculates in metric and converts. Shame they didn't allow the trip computer to have another digit so you can reset after each service (12,500 miles) for the diesel. That would take it to 99,999km or just over 62,000 miles. Following the above logic would mean the speedo can't show more than 620mph (999km/h) so not much point in getting all that tuning done that other postings mention :D Ian Black 55 VTR+
  5. Just seen this article on the AutoExpress website http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/previews/6854...efficientc.html Ian Black 55 VTR+
  6. I would imagine most of them need extra hardware rather just being software enabled e.g. parking sensors, bluetooth module, lane departure warning system, folding wing mirrors. Most of the other things can be set by going into the menus. Rear wiper when in reverse, follow me home light time, metric or imperial displays etc etc. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  7. So if you carry spare bulbs you are within the law. If the law says you must change them there and then you might be in trouble, but you can then show the police officer the page in the handbook that states you are not allowed to change them. You can also point out that the car you are driving has been certified in all EU countries as complying with their safety standards (all cars have to pass these before they can be sold). It would be an interesting test case to be fined for not changing a bulb the manufacturer states you are not allowed to. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  8. I have been using my trip computer with trip 1 reset at every fill up and trip 2 as information since new. I noticed today as the car reached 8,900 miles on the odometer that trip 2 had stopped clocking up the miles at 6,215. Is there a limit on the trip computers and if so why is it 6,215 (not a number I saw mentioned in the Da Vinci Code)? Ian Black 55 VTR+
  9. Isn't that what everyone does at Ascot, picnic from the back of one's Chelsea Tractor? Range Rover design the split tailgate to be used as a seat, stops you getting ants in your pants or grass stains (cue Lurpak ad). Ian Black 55 VTR+
  10. This weekend was a good test, temp reading 37 deg C climate set to LO, serious fan action :D Also the first time I have seen the 3rd segment of the water temp indicator stay on for more than 2 mins. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  11. Not sure how old your car is or where you bought it from so some options would be. If the car was bought new and the garage has had 3 attempts to fix an issue and failed you can claim the car is not repairable and start action to get it replaced. If the car is still within it's 3 year Citroen warranty you can take it to ANY Citroen garage and ask them to have a look. Some garages have more experience of certain issues than others. (Some garages are more helpful than others). You can keep taking it back to the same garage and drive a loan car of theirs that works until you are 100% sure yours is fixed. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  12. If it is just you in the car I think they will fit in with the rears seats folded and the front passenger seat reclined. You have to use all of the space from the passenger footwell to the rear of the car. Otherwise you will have to get your saw out and find some way of keeping yet another set of rubber seals water tight. You would also have to make sure the track for the roof remained aligned every time you put the bars back together. It can probably be done but won't be cheap. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  13. Depends how heavy they are, mine had the loading weight written on the plastic trim inside the boot lid, can't remember how much it was, but it was in kg. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  14. Thanks for the confirmation kfk. Glad to know it has been fixed. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  15. I'm sure all the pigeons in your street are very happy now they have such a bright target to aim for :) Ian Black 55 VTR+
  16. You're not talking about the air vent in the glove box to keep your drinks and choccy cool in the hot weather? Do you get a breeze through it when you air circulation fan is on? Ian Black 55 VTR+
  17. That will be the "internet download" they did to my car whilst they had it in for the XYD recall then. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  18. As long as you don't end up calling it Jemima (Puddleduck) becuase of all the water leaks. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  19. Wouldn't reversing at about 10MPH and then braking hard have a similar effect? It would make sense for any brake compensator to apply more braking power to the rear discs when reversing. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  20. Had the XYD recall done yesterday, whilst the car was in asked them to check the fault log as to why the cruise control was failing. The response to what was the cause/fix for the cruise control failure is "we have done an internet download". Now I do internet downloads all day and none of them have fixed my cruise control problem. Why can't they be more specific? The car knows there has been a "speed control system failure" so it must know what casued the error state. Also any software patches I run on my computers always state what has been modified or why the update was required. I suspect the cruise control fault has not been fixed (sceptic that I am) but I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  21. You might have the connections not sure you will have the things that make the seat vibrate or the sensors around the front bumper installed. There is a video here http://www.citroen.com/CWW/fr-FR/TECHNOLOG...Y/AFIL/AFIL.htm that shows you how it works. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  22. Now for the saddo bit...just downloaded the movie and had a frame by frame look at the transformation. The headlight (covers only) are turned upsidedown, brought together and are placed in front of the thing which makes the head. This appears from under the bonnet (not seen any red glowing things under my C4 bonnet but hey). This shines through the headlight units giving the appearance of red headlights, oops I mean eyes  Other notes, the windscreen moves to behind the head to become like a cloak. The rear doors have their windows fold 90 degrees to make an L shape to form the front (window) and side (door) of the lower part of the leg (below the knee, which is made by the rear wheel). From the looks of things the only part of the robot which could not be part of an actual C4 is the head behind the headlight covers. The skates are a bit iffy as well. The coupe tranforms in a completely different way and you are not shown where the head appears from. They could easily have used the speed display and made it a cyclops, but I don't think they have. 23. If you are new to sensodrives it could just be your driving style. It takes a while to adjust to a sensodrive, nothing like an auto or manual box. The other time other owners have reported this was in damp conditions. If the car is an 04 it must have just had or be due for it's 2 year (20,000 mile) service you can get it looked at then (or find out from who just serviced it, if it was looked at). There have been some software updates for the sensodrive box and any Citroen dealer will be able to tell you if your car has the latest revision. Have a search through the forum for other posts about the sensodrive system. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  24. The non technical way is to look on the V5 and see what the DVLA say it is. Ian Black 55 VTR+
  25. Doesn't take much for eco mode to kick in. Just load up the car for a trip to the tip, leaving the boot/door open for 5 to 10 minutes (interior lights on) and it happens. Ian Black 55 VTR+
