Well look at a lot of so called prestige cars now that are all suffering from known build quality issues. Mercedes for one. There dealers arent that great either least the one round the corner form me isnt its bloody awful from speaking to people who use it. My Citroen dealer sounds like its better. But you do have a first version model of the C4 in all fairness it was bound to be worse than the newer ones which arent that bad. Judging by review sites most people seem to be praising the car lot more people totally happy with it in everyway than there people that hate it. Most reviewers have said build quality is not that bad either. I think it just depends on how old /new the car is if its an older first version like yours its likely to suffer form a lot more glitches and issues that were refined as the years went on. If they had some more performance targeted versions they would do well. I mean the Saxo VTS sold amazingly but i see very few C2's on the road in comparison. mainly cause the C2 VTS is a fair bit slower. Maybe if they drop the 1.6 turbo into it might find a few more people looking at them. The C2 VTR's gearbox is naff. The C4's 180bhp N/A engine is not really the right engine for the car in my point of view. The revs need to be wound up way to much and just does not have enough power to move a car like that compared to other marques with similar size cars who all have 2.0 turbo's. If it wants to compete there gonna have to join the rest of them and make a 2.0 turbo to get the sporty versions selling better. But keep the N/A on for those that cant afford the turbo version. Renault have done it for years making sportier cars and they always sold well. The clios have appauling build quality but you see loads of 172 / 182's on the road because there a bargain performance wise. Citroen need to follow suit. If they did i reckon they would sell more. And I have seen a few meganes the only thing is a lot of people are put off buying them due to how many "special" versions they release so they depreciate like a brick. But as a performance car there the best hatch that size aorund. Faster than a focus st 0 - 100 - 0. Better handling and a remap takes the things up to the 270+bhp mark. For £300. And considering you can pick them up for £14,000 new thats a bit of a bargain. And as a result i am seeing more people looking at them.

This sounds like the same thing I have had for ages as well. Anytime you touch the accelerator or tap the clutch I tried loads of things to see what recreates it. And does sound exactly the same had it into the dealers for it a few times now came out and was sorted for 2 days before it started up again. I was told it was exhaust related.

Live people with air con they wonder why it stops working when they have only used it once in a year. Well theres you answer. USE THE DAMN THING MORE! And they they think the techs are idiots for it not working.

If the aircon is on it should make things better. -
I would prefer they dont clean mine they use cheap nasty sponges and the stuff they clean it with takes all the wax and polish off as well. Meaning i get swirl marks and a less sparkly car.

Mine sometimes mists up in the auto setting but never on manual just using it without the A/C on. Strange that you said the complete opposite. <_< -
Think the problem with me being a moderator and all is that i spam as well. As can be seen my the rather large postcount.

Was the fan speed on the highest setting? Sometimes it knocks down so its a bit slower so put it up again should not take that long to demist. I wait till mines demisted enough to see out then start driving by the time i reach the main road off my estate its all done. -
Nice cars but for a car costing over £30,000 and projected to be worth less than £10k in 3 years not exactly gonna have people running out to buy them. 3 years time though I think they might be a little more sought after for a motorway cruiser they are very comfortable cars. Few of us had a good poke around one when we were in Birmingham at the MPH show and think everyone liked it.

Always that thought was weird not having heated glass in the lower models. Even my base model Clio had heated mirrors. The only other luxury it has was electric windows.

And bring you back in line I will. If not its 10 lashes for the lot of you! :D

Its likely as he says the HDI's have an Overboost function which gives you a bit more torque when you put your foot down. http://www.citroen.com/CWW/en-US/RANGE/Pri...OTORISATION.htm Hopefully that link works. Tells you what is what.

I know my speedo is accurate but my computer im gonna guess is pretty much right as well i did a calculation which was very close to right. Currently showing me getting 26.4mpg but done lots of rush hour driving through centre recently so not got out of 2nd gear. Forgot to say welcome earlier as well so welcome to the board mate.

And when you fill up remember your filling the pipe somewhat as well so can get a bit extra in there. Meaning calculations will be slightly off.

No worries you got there eventually :P :D

Would still love some anthracite supert's with a polished lip.

I wanted to do it on mine but im not sure if the C6 is a 5 bolt patterns or still a 4 bolt like the C4. You can get them in a 17" from citroen for the C4 though. But prefer the 18" C6 ones as I said ages ago I liked them and would love them on my own.
-
Im not sure the C4 is doing well in the WRC ford used that as backing for there sporty focus'. Why cant citroen. Renault did it as well with some of there cars. Clio williams, Megane F1 etc. And they stuck a 3litre V6 in a clio and priced it at £27,000 it still sold. If they do something daft with the car there would be a sort of cult following and more people willing to look at them. The sporty models usually sell the lower end models. And if ford can put the new RS out there with 4wd and 280bhp and sell it as what people are saying a rally car for the road why cant Citroen? The focus is very similar in terms of build quality, handling, power etc as most of the C4 models. And if they can sell sporty versions when there normal focus' are so cheap whats the problem? And on another note i saw a C6 on the road yesterday first time i've seen someone driving one.

Was on a website with a road map for the C4 of the various versions. Theres also "supposed" to be a C4 CC coming out which will be like the 307 CC. They need to offer a more powerful engine though as the 180bhp petrol engine is lacking a bit compared to the competition now. I mean the new Focus RS is gonna be 280bhp.

Now all we need to know is whens th facelift coupe / hatch coming?

Its always better to use an external amp as the headunit amps usually are a max of 60w thats not RMS most of them have about 25w x 4 RMS. RMS is the value you want to look at not the max figures. Amp under the door may still be suitable depends on the inputs. Think the door speakrs are JBL but they are likely to be budget ones. The JBL system is good as an all in 1 system but sub amp and uprated speakers for £300 or so they really do have to be budget versions. Keep in mind changing the headunit if you have the cd changer it might not work depends on headunit and even then just getting the same make can still sometimes not work as there often designed to interface with the factory systems only. But after market changers are fairly cheap to be fair. Alpines MP3 6 disc changer is £160 at retail prices and you can get it cheaper with a bit of haggling usually so if you go into a shop to buy a headunit etc haggle with them. And dont buy from Halfords whatever you do.
-
Not sure on the way its connected but i would guess headunit goes to amp then amp powers the speakers not sure if the sub is powered from the amp or if its an active sub with a built in amp. I would need to get a look at one and have a play with it. Upgrade wise can start by changing the front speakers for some new components there 17cm components in the front and changing to some better speakers may help. Or putting some sound proofing in the door as most people with the JBL thing say they get too many rattles with it at any half decent volume. Just depends how much you want to spend on an upgrade.

It snowed for all of 5 minutes earlier and thats about it. Nothing stayed though just meted straight away. I wanted snow would of got me out of having to do the shopping later.

Had the 1,500 mile service yet? As that can make a difference to the way the car feels etc as well.
