Your last one was a lighter car with less power through the front wheels though. Makes a difference. And £80 each for tyres seems rather cheap the standard Michelins on the car are £130 each. Most of the top end tyres are around £130 and id be looking to put similar back on.

See alarms annoy me rather it just stopped accelerating and if i want to go faster past the limiter just push the pedal down so it overrides the limiter. Guessing its like the C4 on the C3 that if floor the gas pedal it turns off the speed limiter? Never heard any audio alarm though or seen any settings for it anywhere in the menus.

There should not be a speed warning alarm on the C4 as far as I am aware.

Sounds like you have a dodgy dealer more than anything if they cant even sort out the service indicator. Few people have had this and all it required was 5 minutes to plug it into the computer and update the software and it was cured.

Im moving house soon further out of Manchester. 2 buses just to get to Manchester. I dont think thats gonna happen. I'll be taking the car. Simply because it does not work out much cheaper getting a bus than taking my car and paying for parking. A 4 week ticket for the metro for me is £82.10 but i also need a bus to get me to the station so add another £40 on top of that. So using public transport would cost me £120 a month to get to manchester i fill it up with £50 of fuel every 3 weeks and parking if you know the right places is free or £2 a day.

£165 for the 1.6 C4. Manchester is also getting a congestion charge. It bloody stupid really the buses arent good enough and the metro while fast just does not have enough stops its still being expanded. There arent really any other ways to get into town apart from the car.

so buy a 2nd hand VTS where most of the depreciation is done rather than a new one where it will lose an incredible amount of money. Can pick up 180's now for under £10k Then when and if the new one comes out get rid of the current model and buy a new one if you want.

It starts getting better after around 10,000miles 28mpg is fairly normal though. Especially aroun town think Citroen list it around that for urban consumption.

All I remember was seeing a thing saying C4 facelift was due this year between 07 and 08 with a CC model following in 08. But hey this is citroen were talking about not the most reliable of marques for information lol. Although with both the picassos having some differences to the cars would lead me to believe some of that would get incorporated into the facelift. 207 being heavier is probably cause its had the same problem the new clio did. Which is also a heavy car compared to the old model now. Superminis are getting bigger due to the need for 5 star safety.

1.6 turbo C4 would give a kerb weight around 1200kg. So 140kg less than the VTS with 175bhp. That 5bhp down to a 140kg weight reduction power to weight would put that 0-60 wise in the 7 second area after a remap expect power to be boosted at least 20% taking it to around 210bhp with a lot more torque than an N/A 2.0 lump. What you get is a lighter car with more power and more mid range punch. And with power to weight ratio above 170bhp / tonne you get a car that can accelerate to 60 in around 6.5 seconds or there abouts. Meaning a 2.0 petrol VTS would be left for dead. Remember a news thing a while ago saying the engine would go into the MCS and the 207 first then works its way into the psa lineup. Its set to replace the 2.0 VTS apparently. Not sure if the C5 has it yet or not but the same release also said the C5 would get a twin turbo diesel engine.

I get an error occasionally with this switching off and on again usually fixes it though.

320 - 350 seems average on my 1.6. When its mixed with some motorway driving it jumps to 400+ miles.

Think the whole point of a Vtec engine is to mistreat it lol. Nice cars but dont the earlier ones suffer form certain quirks to do with the suspension setup resulting in the car being a bit twitchy?

The K series is not as bad as the rep it carries. If my mates has lasted 3 years without failure it cant be that bad and lets just say I drive my car hard but he abuses the f**k out of his motor.

Are you 6"3 and weight a lot though? The one I had the seats were about half the width of the C4 seats which hug me being the sports seats. So it just made me feel like i was falling out half the time going round bends. Not nice. Also could not get the steering wheel in the right place (I have huge legs 1 of my legs is actually the same width as my mates waist) Good for smaller people not for fattys like me lol. I suppose its what you get used to I loved my Clio but after the C4 i couldnt stand the C1 which is similar to the Clio. Just not as good in the twisties.

I have seen a chop of a CC C4 apparently one is going to be built and is on the roadmap for the car but in the next version of the C4. Since the car is basically a 307 underneath its not so hard to do. Being serious about it yes there are companies that can do it. But on a bad side the extra strengthening means the cars weigh a hell of a lot. To the point the 180bhp engine just about manages to get the car to 60 in 10 seconds. So think what happens with a smaller engine. But if your looking for a ragtop how about an MX5 or an MGF? Good cars cheap to buy now and there fun to drive. Mate of mine has one and have ot sya his is pretty nice modded his slightly though but there decent enough cars the MGF just we all take the piss out of him for driving a girls car. Do not recommend the Itrip. FM modulators generally are crap and they dont do too well in cities due to interference etc. Just results in loss of sound quality and a bad signal not the best thing when you have spent a fair chunk of cash. Ask most of the local car audio places that will sell them and I bet half of them would advise you against buying them due to how badly they perform.

Do like that model Cupra lot more than the new one. Looked at one with my mate great cars and engine is easily tuned to silly levels and just about bullet proof.

As a work car I see nothing wrong with it but dont think I could go back to something that small as an everyday car not particularly comfortable on the motorway or flying up country lanes. There alright cars would not say girly although my mates gf has one... make of that what you will lol. And anyway i used to have a clio and a cinquecento there "girly" cars apparently. As a cheap runabout there pretty good though. I drove the 1.0 was alright I just could not get comfy but im a big guy. Was fine though while I had it. Just could not cope with a 1.0 everyday lol. I felt like I had to gun it everywhere to make progress. But not a bad sounding engine for what it is and felt pretty nippy.

And riding the clutch is a good quick way to destroy it generally. And well we have already discovered there not the best clutches around. People that sit with the brakes on at light that have just turned red annoy me there so bloody bright and if your gonna be sat there for a few minutes put the sodding handbrake on its better for your brakes as well.
