Mine causes the car to vibrate a bit at times but mines the 1.6. Mine is near enough quite until around 3000rpm and then it gets a bit more grunty sounding shourtly after it sounds more wheezy. Best way to tell is to test drive another and see if its the same. And love the never raced comment I cant say the same about mine. As soon as I left the dealers I stuck my foot down and gave it some. Best way to break in an engine drive it like you stole it.

Its only just starting but its not massively noticeable can only tell when I was giving my car a proper clean. Its booked in for a week tomrrow anyways to have a few things done to it. Took one of the guys out in it today and let him hear some of the noises it makes so he said he would book it in to get it checked over as it wasnt normal...WOO they heard it this time!

The chrome on the front of my car is bubbling would that be covered under the warranty? Its the part on my bonnet where the chevrons are its just started noticed it earlier on not sure if something like that comes under warranty as a paint defect or not? Someone have a rough idea?

My new car smell ran out a while ago :D

Well theres the "fun" way find an empty bit of road do 30ish and slam your foot on the brakes if you skid you dont have abs lol. Although im sure someone will be able to tell you the proper way without doing that lol.

I actually liked the vanilla one. Ran out of air freshners though may have to go down the garage and get some more on friday. But there not exactly cheap are they? Was not a fan of the Menthe musc either the Ylang bambou was quite nice though.
-
Said it should be done for Friday. So was quite pleased with that.

Dropped it off in one of these little back street bodyshops which was recommended to me. And £60 isnt bad for it to be repaired and resprayed I didnt think. Was funny though he looked a bit confused when he said he was gonna get the colour code off my car and i said my cars red hwile he was holding the black spoiler. Didnt realise they came like that..
-
Oh i got ya now i thought you meant something to do with when the key is in the ignition since you said ignition earlier. Yeah mine can be put back in without pressing the button doesnt really matter as it doesnt open up without me pressing it again to open it though. When it was new it was a little harder but now not so.
-
Wouldnt have a clue without going out to the car to be honest never really paid attention. I stick the key in and thats about it lol.

Apparently my clutch bites quite high up as well according to a couple mates that drove it. But I just think its normal. Doesnt seem much higher than what my Clio was. Just one of those things between cars there all different no 2 are alike.
-
Well spoiler has been dropped off in a local bodyshop a mate recommended. £60 its costing for it to be reapired and repsrayed. Which isnt too bad still cheaper than claiming off insurance or buying another one so quite happy. Even happier when he said he can have it done for friday so i will be sticking it back on once i have polished it up and given it a few coats of wax etc. And it'll be on for FCS again :D

On the 180 engine around £3000 for the bolt on kit. Then installation and mapping after that. Depends how mechanically minded you are not that hard to actually build it yourself but mapping it you need someone who knows what there doing. Theres a turbo kit available for the 1.6 engine taking it up to 200+bhp. SUppose with a few other bits throttle bodies etc could get it near the 300bhp mark but i doubt it would be very reliable after that much tuning. Although the 1.6 is a rather good engine. And 19's just about fit the arches there lol. Think some nice Super tourismo's or some speedlines etc would look better. Just think multispokes or certain styles of 5 spoke wheels suit the C4 the best. I would love the C6 wheels on my C4 just in a bigger size as they look lovely in my opinion.

I dont know when they tell me they cant find the rattle on my door and i then point out exacly what causes it and how i know how to stop it and it takes them 2 further attempts to still rectify this. I was a little peeved. Some of them are alright but my dealer seems to rather just give me the usual crap about nah thats not a problem on these cars etc and fob me off. I know theres something wrong with my car when the steering wheel wants to turn on its own when im brakign and it judders. Its just not frigging normal i dont need to be fobbed off with an excuse. And they still never did anything about it! I actually told one of them to take it for a drive and he wouldnt.
-
I know you stick up for the technicians etc since you are one arent you? But you can kind of appreciate where he is coming from. I know if they just told me they were going to keep my car for 3 days and I wouldnt be too happy without some form of travel for that time. I absolutely need my car every day so if they did that to me i couldnt get to uni etc. which is a 40+ mile round trip or 4 buses there and 4 back. It would screw me up if they didnt at least offer me a car. I would appreaciate them fixing it but not leaving me stranded which they would do if they took the car from me like that.
-
Oh they will have made profit still. Just not as much. But then again they can probably claim money back from certain companies who supplied there parts if they were faulty. But these are just teething problems theres a new revision of the C4 due in 2007 apparently will likely be much better since we have been the guinea pigs for this model. Although i still love the car to bits no matter how many problems it gives me. I personally think they need to stick the V6 lump in one though. Or a 2 litre turbo unit. It'd be a laugh at least and a bit more of a serious hot hatch for the current crop thats around.

Looks like they had just yanked at it on 1 side. The upper part of it is fine just the lower lip section is completely shattered. Not sure if its repairable. Body shop my mums car went to did a great job on her badly damaged bumper and it wasnt a lot of money so will take it into them to have a look. Just been and asked the bouncers at the pub and club there and they didnt see anything. And normally there pretty good if anyone tries damaging anything outside they will usually chase them down etc and the pub there with CCTV its pointed the other way :) Just annoyed me big time this morning fitted the lip spoiler back on for now though until i can get a new one or get this on repaired. Although if i can get it repaired which i think could be do able i might just get it all smoothed into 1 piece might stand up to a bit more abuse then in future and get it properly bonded to the window rather than just using those sticky pads on the spoiler.
-
Well my car has been parked next where its been for the last few months only to go down today to see my nice VTS spoiler poiting upwards and all cracked and smashed. bastards have obviously come out of the pub and just had a go at it and tried ripping it off. So thankful it didnt smash the glass but im just gonna leave the old one on for now until i move back home again and then i will get a new one not putting another one on it when its likely to happen again. Rather upset currently though. And not sure how much a new one is likely to cost since the only one on ebay is unpainted and in greece. Yet still over £100. Gonna see if i can come up with a way of keeping it though as the bottom half of the VTS spoiler is basically just the original lip spoiler and the top part of my spoiler is unaffected i might be able to fix something up somehow i have no idea if its doable though.

mines like this i asked about it and it got. "its a mass produced car it wont be perfect"

Insurance is rather odd. You can get cheaper insurance on a Ferrari F430 in a fair few places than you can for a Clio172 Cup. Work that out!? Apparently its to do with how many are written off as well and the types of people that are likely to drive the cars hot hatches are seen as high risk young people's cars who are more likely to crash etc.

Try greenlight, Adrian flux. And have you been to endsleigh into an office somewhere to speak to someone? Remember going with my mate into the stuent union one in manchester he took a quote that he had printed off the cheapest one he had with him. They couldnt beat the quote at first but then the manager saw the info and knocked him off £100 basically on the quote he was given. Play companies off against each other after all they usually will prefer your money rather than a rival company getting it. 10 month accelerators are best avoided there not transferable to all insurance companies. And what excess did you have for that £900? When i did mine last time just seeing how much it'd be was £1187 or something along those lines for a 1.6 VTR+, 15,000 miles a year parked in the street centre in the centre of manchester for business pleasure commuting. valued at £11K and im 22 with 1yrs NCB. £250 excess Mileage/ postcode and value of the car make big differences. Also try different professions you can be classed as sometimes makes a difference. And add other people preferably female that have held a license a while and are proessionals can knock a few hundred off then. I added my mum and it knocked £100+ off my quote even if they will never drive it just try it anyways. Some companies will add some on the premium some will subtract.

I used a BMW iso converter and then had the wiring changed to match the C4.

No Alpine unit interface? Know a couple of us are using Alpine decks.

VTS doesnt have it but the exclusive does i think. Lee's exclusive had the chrome inserts all over.
