That all the other cars have sub forums, but the C4 forum is just one big huge slab of a forum. It makes navigating through all the different posts very difficult. Sub-forums would be nice. Can we get this done???

2 sets??? I only found one set. There is a mighty life like reflection from the reflectors though.

I have a rattle in the seatbelt. I looked at it today. The only thing I could find was the actual part that bolts to the B pillar, where the seatbelt comes up and over is very loose. Its bolted tight, but moves a great deal and it taps on the metal of the B pillar. I put two small strips of dynamat behind it, one each side. Its cured the rattle, but unfortunately, I broke a clip off of the baige trim where the seatbelt comes out. Its a bit loose now, so be careful when you take it off. Also, i hate a rattle in the roof lining. That turned out to be a pipe (I think possibly for the rear washer jet) slapping against the roof lining. I just packed it out with thin strips of foam. You have to take the sunglasses holder and rear handle off and drop the lining slightly to get to this pipe.

My door panels aren't really that bad. I just hate rattles etc. The drivers door is the worst one though. It seems to 'creak' when the car is moving.

Yes it is possible to connect to an aux input. You need to buy part number 9706AG either from Citroen of Peugoet (whichever dealer is more convenient). If you dont have a cd changer, then just connect up as stated in the instructions and get Aux Port 1 enabled. If you do have a changer fitted, then you need to connect up the lead differently. The connections are as follows 11 - Black 10 - Red 4 - White You then have to have Aux 2 enabled. The cable is abput £20 and the configuring can be anywhere from free to about £35 depending on the dealership. Hope that helps.

Do you know which cables the signals are on??? -
Ive already got Dynamat Extreme on the door panels because of rattling. TBH, It hasnt made a mega amount of difference. A few more layers may help. I think its due to the physical size of them. They are very long and made up of many different pits if you look at them and dont ave that much support in the middle. Its not a brilliant design!!!
-
Yeah, i dont want to cut them for that reason.
-
No, thats fine. If someone else can get them through there, so can I!!! Ill just borrow the cable pulling wire we got at work. Should make short work of it.
-
Did you manage to run them through the rubber conduits from the car to the door??? Was it fairly easy???
-
How did you connect the amp output cables to the door speakers??? Did you intercept the wiring behind the dash or run new cables???
-
As far as I know, the C4 was launched with the 2.0L 138BHP petrol engine to Euro 3 emmissions standards. Then in 2005, they brought the engine up to Euro 4, reduced emmissions and upped power to 143BHP. Hence, me car tax cost me £190 last month, where as the newer engine is cheaper because its in Group E where as mine is group F :(
-
Ive just filled up with V-Power. Obviously I dont really know what difference its going to make, although the engine seems smoother at idle. Ill let you know how it goes. Anyone else use V-Power. I have the 2.0L 138BHP engine. Is the 2.0L petrol common in C4's (other then the VTS)??? The techs at the dealer I use say its a bit of a rarity, most people buy either the diesel or smaller petrol engines.

Any pics yet??? Can I request a pic of your boot install please!!!

Wiring Up An Amp In The C4.
Mike5483 replied to wozza's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Wozza, how have you connected the Front Speaker cables from the Amp to the speakers??? Have you just intercepted them under the dash??? -
I think its the Cat I'm looking at under the car anyway. Its a short, cylindrical canister type item under the middle of the car. Definately coming from there though.

Tis true what he says!!!

Well, I know what you mean. it just seems that everytime I take my car to them, they nevere seem to be a ble to find a problem with it, or they cant recreate the problem, or they give me some strange excuse as to why it should do what its doing. They never really seem that interested in helping me. Unfortunately, the two other dealers around this way, are not easy for me to get to with work etc.

This bloke is trying to sell guides showing how to reset the service indicator. IT TELLS YOU IN THE BOOK!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SERVICE-RESE...1QQcmdZViewItem

But now, I think its getting worse. i can now here the noise from inside of the car. It sounds to me like its coming from the Cat or somewhere there. I can here the same noise from he tailpipe, but it seems to start at the Cat. It sounds like a burburly, farty noise in the Cat, but just a burble at the tailpipe. It only does it if I blip the throttle. if I rev steadily, it doesnt make a noise. I also noticed the other day the car smelt like eggs. I have taken it to Citreon a little while back, but they told me it was the larger induction system on the 2.0 Litre engine readying itself for a 'performance burst'. Also, i feel as if the car isnt as quick as it used to be, although this could be just due to me now being accustomed to the speed and acceleration of the car. Finally, i notice that the exhaust moves a fair bit when blipping the throttle. Now, i know exhausts move, but this seems to me to move alot. Again, the dealer said it was just normal. Any thoughts??? I dont like to keep taking the car back to the dealer, cause they may think I'm being a pain in the arse. However, I really dont think my car should be sounding like this.

Sounds to me like you have a leaky air duct somewhere. Volkswagen group cars are renowned for having leak coming from the pollen filter that is fitted to the cabin air ducts. I would say check this first. Im no sure where it is. its normally up behind the glovebox.

Ask your dad if it was worth £90!!! Go on, I dare ya!!!
