  1. Operation stages : When the ignition is switched on . The instrument panel compares the last fuel level displayed with the gross level indicated by the fuel sender unit (variable resistor fitted with a float) . If there is a significant difference (about 10 litres), the gross level information is displayed, otherwise the last fuel level displayed remains . Operation stages : When driving . The fuel sender unit is no longer used . The engine management ECU supplies the fuel flow information to the BSI . The BSI encodes this information in a VAN frame . The instrument panel takes this consumption information into account to calculate the fuel level . The instrument panel sends this level to the BSI via the VAN network . Special cases : Low fuel warning . Below a certain sender unit value, the instrument panel sends the minimum fuel information to the BSI via the VAN in addition to the fuel level in order to warn the engine management ECU . In addition, the instrument panel displays the warning message : "LOW FUEL WARNING" . The warning lamp is illuminated . If you parked you car on a slope/2 wheels on pavement this too can alter the fuel level and cause the type of problems you reported.
  2. Bought some PTFE tape the other day.......it didnt come with any instructions as according to the bag it came in it said....."no instruction provided as for professional use only"...........but we can fit brake pads!
  3. yes it only comes from a dealer.......and once you top it up you need to have the computer programmed to tell it you have topped it up......you will probably also need to replace the particle filter beacuse if the reservoir is empty the particle filter will be blocked. Of course it maybe that its telling you the fluid is empty/low beacuse it has a computer or a level sensor fault.
  4. You will need to change pump, pump mounting bracket, pulley, injectors and pipes......and make sure its suitable for your engine as whilst the enjine may look the same as another externally you may find it has larger valves/different camshaft which will in turn affect the amount of fuel required.

  6. Try reading this post
  7. Dont you just hate it though when you cant get a decent photo because some idiot has parked his car some where he shouldn't. Personally i think if they provide car parks in these quaint little villages we should use them and if you feel the cost is too much, dont take the car, catch the bus or maybe use a taxi, i'm sure the locals would be happy if we didnt clog up there roadways.......just because we have cars it doesnt give us the right to park where we want.....and that includes outside our own houses. .............Dont get me started on Parking and the drivers right to do as he pleases as long as its for his convenience!
  8. A pity all fixes cant be so so quick and cheap
  9. should be able to reconnect and check straight away
  10. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery lead - make sure you have your radio code first though.
  11. iirc - if i remember correctly
  12. post the letters of your chassis number here an we'll tell you the engine code....it will start VF7.............
  13. Without wishing to be rude.......i've told you what to do, the other option is book it into your local dealer and ask if they will turn it off for you.......but that will cost you if you find someone prepared to do it. So if you find the irritation this causes worse than the headache you will get when your head goes through the screen i suggest you do as i first said.......take a knife down the localbreakers yard and go cut a buckle off a citroen seat belt.......now that isnt rocket science, its a way of bypassing the buzzer.......of course if your journeys are as short as you say you could walk!
  14. the switch is in the seatbelt buckle.......go get a bit to push in it from a breakers yard!

    Exhaust Smell

If you take a look at the injectors you will find one or more of the injectors have diesel around them and the noise you are getting isnt so much a ticking as a chuffing noise. Because the injector is leaking combustion gasses it builds up in the engine compartment and comes in to the cabin via the heater inlet. You need to remove the offending injector and replace the copper seal on its base before reassambleing. Its unlikely that you will be able to tighten the injector to resolve the problem, and also liely that the seat in the head where the injector sits will require recutting to allow the new copper seal to seat. If you need to get this done by a dealer allow £350, it needs a special tool to clean the injecor seat, something i doubt anyone but a maindealer would have.
  16. dunno....... but the part number of the ignition switch for a C15 is 4162w8, complete lock set 4162v1, thing is the electrical part may be the same with longer or shorter wires, but you have no means of checking if the steering lock part is the same specification. If it isnt you may find the lock comes on when your driving....not nice.
  17. C8 Navidrive info is here - any help?
  18. has it only had the problem since it was regassed? or did you have it regassed to try and cure the problem?, do you know if the engine cooling fan is working when the airconditioning is activated?....if it isnt you need to find out why.
  19. Well done glad it helped you
