Just to confirm - the splitter is a seperate piece of bodywork to the bumper then? If it is then I guess it wouldn't be too pricey to get one from Citroen, although if I can find one on ebay then even better! Got any pix up close so I can see the detail on the splitter? A comparison pic would be even better :P
-
Yeah noticed that but haven't found one to buy yet (if I decide that I want one) - how much are they from Citroen?
-
Another thing I never knew - the passenger side door handle on my C4 occasionally gets stuck, although a quick hard press will sort it. Doesn't sound good though! Personally I want colour coded door handles like on the VTS - anybody got black ones and want to swap for plain plastic? :P
-
Do you have a Trading Standards agency in Greece? I would contact some sort of consumer watchdog and complain - no company can legally get away with telling you the product was designed with the fault, and thus "is a feature.." :P
-
lol make sure somebody makes a video of you standing there playing with the bootlid lol !!! :(

Gave up my Saturday to wash and detail the car by hand using the products I mentioned earlier in this thread - here is the result: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c32/streettech/6b254021.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c32/streettech/20ee0b3a.jpg BLING ! :o Not bad...some areas need touching up, particularly the rubber on the car, but I was impressed on how the Megs Glaze almost completely hid the stratches from the chav/shoe incident. Just badly need some rims now! :(
-
lol Wait a few seconds for the water to run off the boot without hitting you, then lean into the boot? :(
-
Any ideas on what rims you like? Would be nice to see what other peeps have in mind. I had Boss XTR's on mine before. They were very simple alloys - just big spokes right to the edge of the rim to make them look at big as possible.
-
I'm thinking about getting black rims with polished edges....with the black paint and tints if would look v.mean and racer like (with a 1.4 engine lol) :P
-
You can use clay until it gets dirty all over - you just keep kneeding it to a clean side until no more clean sides! its very safe when used with the lube... :P It does make a hell of a difference too - look at some of the examples on detailing world - the paint appears to be clean but a quick clay brings up loads of "hidden" dirt - and your paint will feel like glass afterwards. As for PC polishers - they will permanently get rid of swirl marks - I'm in the same boat as Stuey...I was washing the car weekly with a sponge and so I have swirls and cobwebbing all over the car. A PC polisher will sort that right out, and if the right products are used then it is perfectly safe.
-
I went with black because I knew it would look awesome with tints, rims and lowering :P A better looking "Civic Type R" if you please :D
-
But a big difference in Va-va Voom ! :P
-
Btw - if you want any help/advice just ask - I'm not an expert but I can help in some areas :P

Well having looked on detailingworld for advice and tips, I settled on the following: (perfect for dark/black cars) Enrow Lambwool wash mitt - £7.99 2 Foam Applicator Pads - £2.50 MicroFiber silk edged cloth - £4.00 Megs Gold Class Car Shampoo - £5.00 Megs Quik Detailing System inc Clay - £13.00 Megs #7 Show Car Glaze - £8.00 Poorboys "Natty's Blue" Wax - £20.00 Total inc discount and postage from www.cleanandshiney.co.uk - roughly £53. Will have your car looking mint! The glaze is particularly good, and hides swirl marks, although im planning on gettinga PC polisher to get rid of the swirls permanently. Will also help me get rid of the scuff mark that chav left on my car from kicking it. :P
-
Stuey - check out detailing world and get yourself some "Natty's Blue" wax - its designed for dark coloured cars and it ******* awesome! Smells of bubblegum too :P

Because the latest Citroens have mult-something wiring...you should be fine as long as you ensure the car is turned off while installing anything. Failure to do this may result in the car's electronics getting confused...attempting to find something (I.E Standard Stereo) that is no longer there. There have been cases on C2's where the owners didn't ensure everything was turned off...and the installion of after-market stereo's has screwed with the car's "head", making it go hay-wire. :P

*COUGH* RIPOFF ! *COUGH* :P

The rocking feeling I'm talking about it when the car is stationary, say parked up or at traffic lights - with the clutch in the engine splutters...like its just between getting enough revs and stalling. It does tend to do it when the engine is cold...
-
Cool  I think the point of this thread was just to get my frustrations out about the fragility of the car. It appears fine in all aspects sometimes, and other times it feels like it's gonna fall apart at the seems.....GRRR :D
-
lol well I'm not a saint but I fear it will break if driven too hard! I did get it to 115mph going over the Severn Bridge in the first week of owning it though chasing my brother's Clio. :D Which I thought was quite respectable for such a heavy car - took an age to get there though!

Having had my recently engine/gearbox problems fixed, I'd like to ask anybody who has the 1.4 engine to comment on their engine and tell me what they think. I have the 1.4 and I want to know if anybody else has had the faults I have had, and wether the characteristics of my car's engine is the same as everybody else's! "Characteristics" of my engine: (Having had engine mount repaired and head gasket replaced @ 10,000miles) 1. When cold, engine is extremely lumpy, and the car can be felt to "rock" slighty when stationary. This may have something to do with my stiffer supension set-up though - I.E I feel it more than usual. 2. Engine is fairly loud, and emits noises leading me to think the engine is under considerible strain, particularly when accelerating on slipways etc. I know I not expecting any form of performance, but I'd like to think the engine is not gonna explode! Is this normal for a 1.4 engine? The engine is treated very well, with me being a smoker I have a ciggie in the morning and afternoons while the car is warming up to go to/from work. No racing either, and a lot of the car's 13,000 miles have been motorway driving. Opinions? :D
-
Erm...clutch is quite high yeah - my brother has an Ibiza and that has a very low biting point. As for the key...dont quite know what you mean - but I know the key annoys me now as it tends to shake around when going over bumps etc. :D
-
Well they are 19's...but nasty ones! I wonder how much a Turbo conversion would cost.... :)
-
Like this you mean? :D Note the grille on the front bumper... :) http://img316.imageshack.us/img316/8867/tw20060520tx.jpg http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/4381/grootc4120c41203qq.jpg
