  1. Grrr... Driving to work this morning only to stop behind a white transit as it looked like he couldn't figure out what turning to take in the road...turns out he'd gone past the turning he wanted so he thought he'd reverse...without looking. Result? New Bonnet and Front Bumper required for me. <_<
  2. Not sure about an interlock...but the boot lock is a known problem for the C4. Mine stuck occasionally and had to be replaced. To test this...next time it fails to unlock put some pressure down on the boot and try again...if it unlocks you know what the problem is! Will be replaced F.O.C at your dealership if this is the case.
  3. Even though I own a Black C4, I'm going for the Metallic Blue colour available on the VTS.....awesome...
  4. Remember to take plenty of pix!
  5. How much of a drop are you looking at Stuey? Mine is dropped 30mm and the arches still accomodate 18's with 225/40 profiles easily. Was admiring the car while out on a cig break.... :P
  6. This happened to me this morning - woke up and the gf went to start the car..and found that we'd (!) left the passenger window wide open..and overnight we had a torrential downpour..nice pool of water in the rear footwell. I've just driven to work with the heaters on full and a towel in the back! Thankfully no electrics have been touched. No smell yet..but if one does surface...any ideas on how to shift it?
  7. Make sure you post some pix when done - I have black strips on my black car, but ideally I'd like them painted.
  8. I feel your pain! :D I have that problem with the clips in the boot - except it was caused by my brother installing the spoiler..it went something like "how do you get this trim off?...Lets yank it and see...SNAP..." Back on-topic...I really do hope they fix the grating noise..as I said to this manager guy...the noise doesn't sound good...therefore it can't be good for my car. I dont mind waiting three weeks to hand the car over...but I'd like it sorted asap.
  9. Having recently received a re-call letter relating to a control box underneath the steering wheel (it's been mentioned on here and planet citroen a few times), I booked the car in yesterday to have the replacement box put in and the grating noise investigated. Lol I've lost count of how many times my car has been into the dealership in the year and a half of owning it! Anyways...picked it up yesterday, and they'd replaced the box, but as part of the recall they also had to replace the left (indicator) stalk. Unfortunately the only one they had in stock was for a VTR/VTS and so comes with the option to turn the fogs on and off, which I dont have. So the car will need to be booked in AGAIN (lol) to have this changed once new stock has arrived. On the grating noise issue..I was impressed to be told that a manager had come down the dealership from somewhere (can't remember where exactly lol!) to take a look at the grating noise, as the engineers had no idea was what causing it. The manager asked if I could take him for a test-drive (as he has a broken leg!) and the car would make the damned noise! SOD's LAW or what! Well he has assured me that if he can find the noise then he will fix it - I am handing the car over to him in 3 weeks time when his leg has healed. Hopefully he can fix it! :D
  10. Sorry m8. Country lanes can be dangerous..they is a prime example leading into Cardiff from Llantrisant..there are sections where you can do 100 easily (straight line) but some nasty bends and blind corners. In fact recently one corner has been resurfaced in a more "grippy" material because of the number of cars crashing in that section of road. Not sure if it encourages the brave ones to go faster or slow down though :D
  11. Lol I do this on the way home from work every day - with my added stiffened suspension I fly round a 90degree cover..fun watching all the other cars (its a two laner) disapear to my rear view mirror!) :D
  12. Welcome Back! This has happened to me. Easy Peasy to sort out. Your dealership should sort it.
  13. I have an excuse for this - behind the camera there is a just bushes and nettles...so couldn't exactly park the car normally and climb into the bushes to get a frontal shot. Then again I could of used one of the 60odd other spaces available...but hey! :) Legal? Hmmm not sure...but they are lighest the guy could do, and he professionally tints cars for a well known car company before they reach the dealerships. It is definately a lot lighter than the back windows..but the lighting conditions dont really show that. Never been pulled over. Not once. Ever. Simply because I keep the car looking good (I.E not chavy), drive "reasonably" sensibly, and dont wear a cap and bling! :D

Do you ever get the urge to open her up on the motorway Ham? I know I would find it difficult to avoid...would help if I thought of the petrol I'd be going through! :D

  16. Yeah to my alloys make all the difference to a car's styling. Personally I would have loved to have had the VTS alloys (and the engine :D ), but having bought my alloys for the amazing price I got them for, and their effect on the car - I'm well happy :)
  17. On a side note the car is now booked in (again!) to have the latest work done - something to do with the control box underneath the steering wheel - I think it's been mentioned on here before. Gave the guy another list of little things I'd like looked at while the car is there! :D
  18. lol guess I'll have to live with it then - just as long as I know other people suffer this then I'm fine :) Definately prefer tramming a bit and having sweet alloys :D
  19. I've had a quick look on the planet citroen .fr site and apparently it is a known problem, but with no current cure. Something to do with bad balancing and possibly linked to the brakes as well? Can anybody recommend a state of the art balancing center? I could try that and see if it sorts it.
  20. Does yours? If this is the case and the steering does react quite badly then im guessing because I have a stiffened suspension and larger alloy wheels (i.e. more surface area on the wider tyres) then the steering is going to react even more?
  21. Having driven the C4 to work this morning, the ride quality is starting to get to me. The roads in Cardiff aint what you'd call perfect (i.e. they are crap) and the car seems to "travel" in the direction of any bumps I hit. On reasonably "straight" roads the car is pretty much ok (but does seem to follow the chamber of the road), but if I'm cornering as soon as I hit a bump the car's steering wheel reacts quite badly. Are my alloys to blame? When I had my old alloys on the car it did it badly - with the new alloys at first it seems ok, but has recently done this more and more. I dont believe any of the alloys are damaged (like my old set) as they are brand new and I have been taking care over speed humps etc. The bumps are also quite harsh, even though I have a stiffened suspension - I have seen a solution where something related to the car's suspension is modified? Anybody shed some light on this please? Cheers!
  22. Had the car back on Monday - Citroen fitted spacers between the gear linkage and exhaust, and so far so good - there is still a small knocking noise between 1st and 2nd gear, but to be fair I have have the 1.4 so the engine and gearbox are going to be under a fair bit of strain in lower gears. No knocks in all the other gears though :) :) :) The engineer also heard my "grating" noise which I reported - he heard it on saturday (was supposed to have the spacers fitted on Friday but they ordered the wrong ones so the car was kept over the weekend) - they are reporting back to Citroen UK to see if it is a known problem. So the car will be going in again shortly. lol I was gonna ask the receptionist if I qualify for my own personal parking space outside the dealership, but I thought she might take it the wrong way :D
  23. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you can get the 3D moulded mats from ebay for £25 / £30 ? :D
  24. Yeah I think Jet-Black tints belong on Limo's only, but I see nothing wrong with light tints - I still have very good visability, and it improves the look of the car. (In my opinion :D )
  25. Cos you can still see me as long as the light is ok. They can see I'm not wearing a baseball cap, and I'm not carrying 4 other people with baseball caps   :o
