So in theory being that the engine is used in the Cooper S, we could all take a cruise down to Worthing in Sussex, and get The John Cooper Works to weave their magic on the engine of the 1.6 lump? Excellent! If you are wanting to buy a VTS I wouldnt wait for the release of the 1.6 unit as you could be waiting a while. Are there any spy shots of the face lifted versions yet?

About mid point along the bottom of the door pockets just aft of the pocket divider.

Well done...perhaps with a tail wind all accesories switched off and no luggage, it may be possible! Make for a pretty dull and uncomfortable journey though!

£730+VAT! Click

Why not try and fit the ambient door pocket lighting out of the new picasso whilst you are at it? The door mounted lights do shine into the pockets by a small amount but by the time you have something in the pocket you cant see the light.

The twitchness was probably the drivers getting twitchy when thye realise how it handles. Isnt the insurance still way up in the clouds for them though?

Although the GF hankers after a Pluriel, I'd hanker for her to have one of these. Its the official Rover job so its all strictly cosher weighs a bit more than your average Mini and looks a bit like a pram with the roof up however... http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/9955/ado15cabrio02cq9.jpg Easy to tune (and work on) and to get half decent performace figure out of it for the size of engine and lots and lots of fun...however its not a car any man would want to see be dead in strictly girls only. Only avalible in Black, British Racing Green or Nightfire Red. Cheap as chips to run, insure, tax.... I'm biased anyway as I've always had Mini in my blood, but thats my reccomendation  This place is particulary expensive, however they fully restore the cars prior to sale. FOR SALE

How long is a piece of string? Depends on so many factors driving style, speeds, loads its like tyre wear completly unpredictable if you live in an area with long straight roads on on a road with multiple roundabouts.... You should use the handbrake where ever practicable. Take the senario you are sat at a red light foor on brake pedal. Car pulls up behind stops. Car careers into the car behind which goes into you. Your foot will leave the pedal and the car will shunt forward many feet uncontrolled potentially into the path of another vehicle. This risk "could" be reduced if the handbrake was on. Also there is the fact that people get jeffed off with brake lights in their faces.

You need to remember in all of this that the discs may not be at all at fault. (Early) Worn suspension components may be a cause...

Just imagine how much fun you'd have trying to get the dash working after your Martini has got in to the Electrics....

Mine had warped discs when I took it for the test drive and were replaced prior to delivery. They only had 11500 on the originals and were well and truly shagged. I did wonder if they had desert bowls mounted behind the wheels. When I mentioned it to the salesman, he at first tried to convince me it was a "trait" of the car. "I'd like to buy a car that violently judders when you brake please"

She goes to the gym...I go to Tescos...She does the running around, I get the injury...work that one out. :P Nearest BP is miles away for me, so its second best or third(?) Esso stuff. Tescoids is desperate measures, besides which the nearest one is one of the Metros and I hate them. Probability of getting car pranged by some dope running about like a loonatic desperatly seeking bread and ginger nuts = high

Now that would have been a missed opertunity for a wave if it was you Ham...or a pint.....cant you do a blanket email to find out who it was then I can invite them on here....? You'd want an RB199 as fitted to one of these :P ..... http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/8466/0623997w4uq4.jpg I'd imagine getting it round a corner might be an issue....

Perhaps a bit unfair....but necessary :P What's the difference between a Skoda and tickets for an Oasis concert? Oasis tickets go fast! Why do skodas have a rear wash wipe ? ........To remove the flies that crash into them. How do you double the value of a skoda? Chuck a penny into it. How do you double the value of a Skoda ? Fill the tank ! What do yuo call a classic skoda ???? A Lada. Ive just bought the new 16 valve Skoda .......4 in the engine, 12 in the radio! Wanna new petol cap for a skoda? No thought not, not a good swop. What do you call a skoda with twin exhust pipes? A wheelbarrow. What is the difference between a Skoda and the flu ? You can get rid of the flu ! Why do Skoda's have a heated rear window? To keep your hands warm, while you push it. So does that mean then that you are no longer going to contribute to the forum? Who is going to wear the golden anorak now? Good luck in your new job :)

Black VTS Coupe Friday 2nd March about half three leaving Gate 5 of Rolls Royce, Bristol. I think you might have been the first Petrol VTS I've ever seen in a year of ownership!

I can tell you how heavy they are as lastnight one blew shut on my leg. :( :) Combined with 40mins at Tesco doing the weekly shop and the pouring rain, as you an imagine my mood levels were sufficiently chuffed off..

I just dont see what planet they are all on. They wish to promote congestion reducing schemes so why do they permit, Bath as an example, reduce the cost of the Main car parks but increased the cost of the Park and Ride? £3:20 all day in a car park or £2+ per person? Its cheaper for two of you or more to take the car into the city center park the car than it is for two to get the bus in on the Park and Ride. Where is the incentive in that? For Bristol congestion to seriously be reduced the cost of public transprt MUST be reduced. Train services are very limited due to the few local commuting stations and the locality of the Main stations in relation to the City. At day rates for me and my girlfreind to catch the bus home is only 2quid cheaper than a cab. Something SIGNIFICANT must be done with public transport and sticking black boxes in cars is not the solution. People are lazy and will pay for convinience. Make the public transport system convinient and cheap people will use it. Having lived in both Birmingham and Bristol, for those who think Birmingham Public Transport is poor try spending a few weeks commuting in Bristol.... Hence why I walk to work :(

it should spring back as soon as you let go, not when the door is slammed.... ps this has to be the fastest moving thread on record look at the times!

Is this a door wont stay shut question, or it wont fit in the hole question? :( If it is the first, i.e it wont stay shut have you checked to make sure the door handle isnt sticking in the out posistion? This releases the catch inside the door and thus the door does not stay shut. If it physically wont fit in the hole I'd look at your rubber trim/seals and take it to a dealer.

Just out of interest how do you know it has stopped working? On a previous car with heated mirrors only once did I see them steaming off ice and condensation and that was a cold day! Not sure if they are turned on by themselves ( :blink:ooo er ) or if they come on with the rear demister switch...again on previous car this is how you turned them on.
