Sorry to be pedantic <_< The limit is not a goal to achieve, it is the maximum permitted speed on that stretch of road. if the signs say e.g. 50 that doesnt mean you must drive at 50. Depending on the road conditions and surrounding circumstances e.g junction, corner, ice cream van et al, you should adjust your speed acordingly. Perhaps if you slowed your driving pace down you may not have been enraged to have to had stopped so hard? Afterall you have identified that you knew he couldnt/wouldnt see you so automatically this hould make you cautious.... If he did run the light then that is unfortunate, however these things happen. Speed limits are not set to compete to see how quick we can get to the limit. Agressive and competitive driving is for the race track, not the road.
-
Why...? <_< Why would you want to accelerate all the way up to the limiter? Does that not make you just as mop head as well? :o He probably thought you were trying to race him or something....so being a mop head put his foot down

If its a classic convertable then there is every point. :o Like any feature on a car if you can use it you use it, not for the sake of having it and not being able to use it! You dont have a Stereo just because it looks alright stuck in the dash and not use it....same as having a roof that comes off...you use it! Each to their ow...If you enjoy freezing your buns off and being soaked floats your boat... then enjoy it! Bobble hats have never been fashion items and 9 times out of 10 they look stoopid on anyone so thats why they look like idiots when its 2 deg c outside .... :P

Ciaran With the potential of penalty points going on your licence, is this just not something else that has the potential to increase your insurance premiums?! I'm with KFK affraid. These kits are lowering kits may appear "great" but they havnt been through the testing that the original C4 suspension has. They may have all the right quality standards and marks but this doesnt make them suited for the vehicle or a good product. You said yourself it looks great standard, so why change it? If you want the look of a VTS...get a VTS.

The One Time You Loose Concentration.....
Rich_Eason replied to Ciaran2903's topic in C4 - Technical
Its pointless trying to speculate the outcome Ciaran if you have been caught you have been caught. If you are unlucky enough to receive a fixed penalty then you at least know what you are in for. At more excessive speeds you "could" be in for a court appearance and you are totally at the discression of the magistrate. Just hope he/she didnt have an argument with their spouse the night before, didnt get out of bed the wrong side and had time to eat his/her breakfast that morning. -
dont be too hasty throwing the back to black away, you will still need it to back to black the aerial mount

All you guys have the luxury of being able to bomb about and try out all these things... I've spent the last week driving about in Bristol and my VTS is currently recording an average of 14mph  B) hardly blisteringly quick enough to test the back end and traction control :P

Scooter Yoofs - Your Thoughts....
Rich_Eason replied to Rich_Eason's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
Yes but the fact I used to fold cardboard and put it in my spkes to sound like a motorbike and messed about on my bike with me mates (e.g. a neigbours son who went over a ramp with loose wheel nuts  "insert outcome here) all happened away from the public highways and byways and the worst we came off with was a bruise and battered limb, at the age of 16 I was mature enough to know that cars belong on the road and needed respect. These numptys are messing about on the UK highways thinking that it is ok to pull wheelies, go on the wrong side of the road and watch the cars swerve as its hillarious. Almost as funny as the one the cars that didnt swerve and sonny jim looses a limb. The local plod recently had a massive crack down one weekend here on the yoofs and reported that "the majority" of the yoofs stopped had been modified some how or exceeded the noise regs, and at least 10 were not insured, great for when he steams in to the side of your car on the wrong side of the road.... -
Climbing onto my very large soapbox without the risk of sounding old... Is it me or do the "yoof" of today buzzing about on flipping scooters/mopeds have absolutely no perception of risk or danger? Over the last three weeks I have seen the following from the scanky chavs 1. Pull up at some traffic lights on a dual carriageway and a number of "yoofs" distribute themselves equally across the lanes. As we sit there at the red light they rev the "bikes" on the brakes so they lurch forward. As the lights go to green they all jump off the bikes and continue to walk them down the dual carriageway. They guy who was beside me in his car nearly had two under his bonnet. 2. I recently watched a yoof turn out of a tee junction looking left but positioned himself on the far right of the central white line following right hand apex of the kerb so if anyone did come round the corner the only place he would be going is on the dashboard/windscreen. 3. Again at traffic lights....the revving of bikes and brake routine again, as the lights change yoof leans over and takes the keys out of the ignition off the bike and rides off. 4. I drove down a road behind group of 3 yoofs one of which was kneeling on his seat. As we pulled up to some traffic lights he then decides to do a donut not realising a double decker (bus variety) was coming down the adjacent bus lane. Very nearly a one under. 5. I take a sharp left hand bend to find a group of moped riders coming the other way all linked arms and over the white lines. Do they think that doing what they are doing is just some sort of game, like playing a game on a Playstation in that you just hit "restart" when you come off? Get back on your bike and everything is alright? We all know that it don’t work like that. Unfortunately there is only one way they are going to find out and that is the hard way. I feel sorry for the ambulance, police and fire service that have to peel said yoof of the road and inform his parents that Little Jimmy is dead. Unfortunately when you read the stories in the press they are always "a promising bright young lad/lass with a bright future"...are they were really that bright not to understand that a car hitting you can kill?

Thats the reason why it smells, you arnt using it enough. You are alowing the bacteria to form in the vents which causes the smell. Also you should be using it frequently if not all the time as this maintains the lubrication of the pumps compressors and system and saves you having a nasty seizure later on in life....be it mechanical or you finding how much it will cost to replace... :P

For the volume of cars produced and the C4's relitivly new inclusion into the market place, these are issues can be expected and have only come to light through the experiences of the owners on this forum. I believe all have some form of dealer fix /work-round or recall. You would be very inlucky if you encountered multiples of the items listed. As Mike mentioned, severity is low. I came from to buy Citroen from Ford as I "thought" Ford was OK reliabilty. How wrong I was. I beleive Citroen are working their socks off to try and rid the poor reliability image that they have with producing great cars such as C4 et al. They just need to change their pricing schemes to slow down depretiation. I'd say go for it, my dealer experiences have certainly been miles better than that experienced with any other brand, but then that depends on location.

You dont even need to fill it until overflow there is a level meter built into the washer bottle cap. As you pull off the blue cap you will see a very long tube comming out of it. First pull off the cap and reposistion it as if you were going to refit it i.e. going to push it back on. Put your finger over the small hole in the middle of the cap and lift cap away from car. You will see as you pull up the pipe water remains in the tube and this is an indicator as to how much water is in the washer bottle. Handy if you have some form of screenwash in there as this is normally coloured and makes it easier to see.

Thats the VTS badge, same as on my VTS. The VTR badge in the Flickr is Yellow....
-
Found this pic on Flickr. Link Am I a right in assuming that the UK VTR and VTR+ badges are all mounted on the B Pillar and not as shown on the pic i.e. where the VTS badge is on UK Spec? I actually think this badge looks better than the miniscule badge on the UK version or am I right in thinking that this is this an ebay after market jobbie?

Does the Citroen not have a emergency shut down on overheat system/get you home mode? On the Ford Focus I owned as it approached overheating the the usual lights come on, but shuts down two cylinders of the four. The manual states that this is to enable the engine to cool with the two cylinders out of operation relying on air compression. B) You obviously drive the car with care not exceeding 2000rpm and only go "home" or to a dealer. This is obviously only a useful feature if you still have oil in your engine or things could get a little "tight" :o I fortunatly never had the pleasure of experiencing this feature.

Trust me there are Cars in the U.S that you would Die for.. B) .. Comin back to yer C4 would be like gettin into a 3 Wheeler.... :) .. Arnt most token american cars suitable for going in straight lines only? :o

"Slightly off topic" Captainsensible...when you get your new C4 will you be driving it with your stuffed parrott on your shoulder and wearing your red beret at a slightly jaunty angle? :P

I looked at getting the Megane 225 although the prices were tempting the insurance quotes were not. I dont want to go reiterate "the I got a quote at x£" again, but can assure you it was substantially more than the VTS, but then you would expect that as it is obviously more powerful. Besides which there is something about Renaults that just dont look "finished". Focus ST just looked boring and was an instant No. Car per £ I dont think you cant beat the C4 VTS in terms of looks, equipment and performance.

I think you always need to be careful of reading too much in to these articles. Any car has its issues and I could honestly say that my previous car (Ford Focus) certainly did not meet the "high reliablitly - great car image" manipulated by the press. That car was more fragile than my first car which was a 15 year old 130,000mile Austin Mini. 34 owners is hardly a representative sample of the total number of vehicles that are sold in the UK. And to be honest...if the only fault they could find is a sticky lock its nothing that a squirt of WD40 couldnt sort out, if it hasnt already been sorted out. Its not exactly going to go BANG! and need you to pull in to the hard shoulder making you wonder how much the bang has cost you....

Recently I have noticed slight "lumpyness" in the clutch pedal whilst depressing it beyond half way. Although it can be felt through the pedal it has no effect on the operation of the clutch, although only seems apparent whilst engine is running. Any ideas? My thoughts are...in order of severity Clutch pedal return spring requiring some grease? *If applicable* Hydraulic clutch has air in system *If applicable* Clutch Cable Snagging Clutch release bearing  All of the above! It tends to go away and then come back which makes me worry even more. Any ideas?

It appears that the functionality of the Bluetooth kit installed by Citroen is limited by the type of phone you connect to it. Please help and add to the list to build an information source of the phones with full/limited compatibility with the Citroen System. Samsung D500 Very limited funtionality. By connecting using Bluetooth you are effectivly using the C4 as a headset. You are unable to make telephone calls, hang up using the function from the steering wheel. All calls have to be connected and terminated using the handset. You are unable to scroll through phone book enteries or SIM functions again using the sterring wheel controls No signal strength/ Battery indicator displayed. Motorola Pebl What appears to have full functionality. Provides information on the centre consol display battery condition, signal strength and Network Service Provider info. Phone enteries can be navigated by using the steering controls. Calls can be made and controlled by the buttons on the steering wheel.

OK Wozza will do, will i need to start it as a seperate thread? Footnote...it happens with the Samsung D500 at least When paired with the C4 and you go out of signal with a base station, you loose the paired connection with the C4 and need to re-establish it. Very anoying when you live near the country and signal quality is sporadic
