I think it must be a change in air pressure increasing the air being fed into the blower and thus giving the impression of it heating up. The water system is under pressure and doesnt really slosh about as this would effect the heater matrix. If you did you would get air locks. I used to get this heating effect on my old Focus too but only on certain roundabouts, usually the tight ones

Glad to hear it and hope you put them in a bucket of water after use. May have just been some head lights refelcting of something underneath. Have you had a look under neath to see if anything is dangling down or showing signs of abrasion? Might be worth a look just as a double check. Daft Question....and having never driven on the A1 once in my life... The Highways Agency arnt trying out the illuminated cats eyes ("solar studs") on this stretch of road are they? They can give off a strange illumination especially in your mirrors.

Where abouts on the right hand side? Underneath, on the roof, by the lights? Was it dark or day light? Wondering if it may have been an earthing point making a fleeting contact or something? But then I dont know where the major earthing points are on a C4?!  Obviously most of the electrics are probably earth as near to the component however I'd imagine there are a couple of chunky jobs just for good measure.

Perhaps we could start an "I saw you" thread as on other car model specific forums?

Yes! I thought this was just me being weird!

I'd say lost it and its belted up against a curb and then up against something "hard", which is probably why the wheels are missing on one side. Exactly the same damage happened to my Mini when it was pushed up on to the centre of a roundabout. To repeat Wozza, nicely modified however.

How in gods name can you drive so bad to end up with a two and half wheeled C4..... Link :P

As much as I am partial to French cuisine I couldn’t quite stretch myself to eat French manufactured carpet :P

This is worrying as I thought the whole point of it being self adjusting was to maintain the biting point posistion until the clutch is worn beyond its wear tollerances? At this point the clutch would then start to slip. This is at least what I have had on other cable operated clutches, unless the cable has stretched? Would have thought though this too would be self adjusted. Side note off topic -sorry- are the c4 clutches cable, cable/hydraulic? Just curious.

Only the ones that wernt soiled with carpet fluff or grease from the seat runners ;)

best place for them I say Had M-I-L in the back of the car the other day whilst out on a long drive and tasked her to "simply" open up a nice big bag of Rountrees fruit gums. She managed to pull the bag so hard it split and emptied them into the rear seat foot wells. ;) Once home I then spent about 40mins hunting the damn things down under the seats.

I'm 6' 2" and its no probs. I can say it is the first car I have had where there has been plenty of leg room. Certainly alot better than the Ford Focus and Minis I have previously owned! In fact it is the only car I have been able to take my feet off the pedals and strech/move about which is handy especially on those long journeys. I'd imagine that the car you sat in had the seat raised in the highest posistion which doesnt necessarily help matters or provide a very comfortable driving posistion... Wouldnt worry to much about the clutch posistion you will get used to it, especially if you have been used to only driving a particular model of car.

So top right of the steering wheel had no buttons at all or just blanks?

Cut your jibes Welshguy, this is a very sensitive and personal matter!  Nothing different just got in and drove away and would not or could not make it make the noise..... I guess I'd put it down as just one of those things

Got back in the car last night and is now back to normal and completly noise free

This might be the way in which it controls the ambient temp. If you continually blast out heat of the vents, plus the heat from solar gain, plus the heat caused by you in the car, plus the mother in law in the back seat will gradually increase the temp in the car to way beyond that indicated on the dash. Besides which it would be flipping uncomfortable. I suspect it is where the car is trying to maintain a specific temp.... Why not stick a thermometer in there just to test?

Hi all Assistance required. Yesterday went on a bit of a Sunday drive taking in the sights of Somerset, Devon and Dorset covering nearly 300miles. As the day progressed I began to notice that my exaust on the VTS was starting to "chirp" and "plonk" whilst going over pot holes and "Cats Eyes"...basically sounds like it is rubbing against something at the rear. Only heard with the window down whilst going along and I can replecate the noise by slamming the boot. By the trip home it had turned into an audible noise inside the car in and around the driverside rear seat...I have managed to discount the mother-in-law who was sat in the back at the time...are there any known causes of this as I thought I read something similar effecting a diesel varient? Or do you think this has been caused by exessive heating over the long journey times?... typically 1.5 - 2hours. Sidenote....Although plastered in road dirt, mud and seagull sh*te (and still is) it was parked up along Weymouth Harbour for a while. Whilst walking down the other side of the harbour, again witnessed some people were peering in through the windows...if people are that curious about the car get down the citroen garage and buy one....or is the dealer "the issue" why we dont see many more of these cars on the road?
