  1. "Hitty" the Bat.... is he pedigree Baseball or Cricket?....or Table Tennis (the Poodle of "Bat" pedigree)? :P As I said before "Rusty" the Scythe was found in the depth of the garden and might come in handy if required. I'd imagine that would hurt point first. :D Just had a thought....I could put the Mother-in-law in the garage with the car. She could then talk AT them for hours on end and give themselves up to the bill to get away from her :D That would be better and cheaper than installing a Clifford Alarm! Dont do German Shepherds I'm affraid, One ruined my brand spanking new T-shirt at the weekend jumping up and putting his claws through it....I'll be keeping the t-shirt for when the "torn t-shirt" look comes round again....or not :D What pee's me off even more is our nextdoor neighbours are so flipping beaky that they'd know the measurements of our clothes on the washing line if you'd ask them but they didnt see a bloody thing.
  2. Yes the oiks come from miles around and congregate about five roads down around a post box?! :D :D Kids are wierd these days I cant imagine how much fun that would be, infact I think I'd get so excited about "hanging out at the PO box" I'd wet myself. :D At bed time they all walk up the back lanes back to their homes. I have seen them a number of times at night meandering back up the lane. Cant be sure its them though..... They are probably immune to Cider at that point in their life and are on to tougher things. I have some old Creosote and Antifreeze that they can have..... Creosote Chasers......mmmmmmmmmmm :D :D :P
  3. I dont write down my PIN codes, they are safely stored in my noggin. However I struggle with big numbers...anything above 4 digits and I'm done for. :D Again the dealer confirmed its stature by informing us not to scratch off the panel unless absolutly neccessary. He put so much emphasis on this damn card I wondered if the car self destructed on removal. I just hope that if I scratch the panel off 3 £10,000 pounds are printed under it and I can take it to the local news agents and claim my winnings :D
  4. I bet even when I do cast the post in the concrete the little shits will walk all over the wet concrete......
  5. OK we all have them (?) The little grey scratch card that is the holy grail to Citroen Ownership. Dealer offered me his wise words of wisdom... "Dont loose it, if you loose your keys they need this is what you need to get a new set. If you breakdown or get locked out the number can be used to assist you to get back in and going again, but dont leave it in the car as a thief can use it to get your car" Now am I being thick but if you leave it in the car chances are if you are locked out and its in the car, thats not much use. Take it everywhere with you with your worldly belongings and it get lost, mislayed, stolen, et al. So you leave it in a safe place at home somewhere where you know EXACTLY where it is. Only that when you are on the M5, 34miles from home in the rain and the AA man is asking for the grey scracth card you can confidently tell him that it is in that safe place at home. So where do you keep yours?
  6. Just to be aware to all the 2.0 VTS Petrol owners that there is an erratum issued within the C4 Manual, loose bit of paper that always falls out of the book. Basically it says that the oil stated in the user handbook is wrong and that the correct grade of oil is the one on the loose piece of paper :D Handy that especially if the dealer has a.lost the loose piece of paper, or b. it didnt come with the car from the previous owner. Now what grade of oil it recommends or actually says.....I cant remember!
  7. As I said before I am concreting the approaching driveway next week and have invested in a post to cast infront of the garage door. I have seen/heard of cars being dragged onto the back of low loaders before, which is why i've left the wheels on full lock, if they get in and snap the steering lock not much point, but its a deterent at the end of the day and will take them longer to steal.
  8. It dont scare me Wozza if they want it they can have it, afterall thats what the insurance is for...but I rather they didnt! The gf will be heartbroken for a start.... If whoever does get in the house I wouldnt be too worried as I'm sure they will trip over the girlfriends handbags and shoes that left everywhere, and if that dont get them the washing basket is always left where you dont expect it and trip over that! When me moved into the house I found an old rusty Scythe in the deepest depths of the garden - that would come tight with a nice applied swing i'd imagine. I might be shot in the process but at least I gave it a go. They certainly wont find the keys I can assure you......They are well and truly hidden.
  9. Sounds a good idea....I've already fitted hefty bolts to the door into concrete and locks to the corner of the door to prevent it being opened by levering up the corner. I'm just about to concrete the approaches to the driveway and thinking about the large drop in posts you can get. Just a flipping pain everytime I take the car out I have to take out the post.
  10. Last week someone broke into my garage and had a good 'ol snoop about. Bugger all in there to nick (or got nicked) just a bucket of car washing shampoo and waxes, 3000 spiders and associated webs, and the VTS. Went out and bought and fitted an alarm to the garage and nice chunky shiny new £30 lock plus additional door security. Being that yesterday was the first day I didnt drive to work since the snoop about, I walked home to find that someone again had had a go at the garage. The door had been pulled out but not open or got in, alarm had gone off... VTS fine. So apart from the additional security devices and to the garage and the car, I've put the wheels on full lock left it in reverse (so it cant be physically dragged out). What more can I do than bolt it to the concrete floor?! Without meaning to sound like a complete nugget, its not an area known for crime, but have now got the feeling that we are being watched for the car. Other than the forementioned bucket there is 'out all else in the Garage! What a great feeling it is to know you are being watched....
  11. Wozza - I share your thoughts exactly. Its worth the arguments to get them to admit that it is all tosh. My theory is unfortunatly you are just paying to make yourself legal. :( Still to this day they have never explained why as a returning customer I am effectivly being quoted nearly 200quid more for the same "product" I can buy as a "brand new" customer. One excuse was to cover admin costs! at 200 notes?!
  12. As a returning customer with AA every year my renewal is £100 plus more than a new AA customer. Argue the toss with them and they eventually give up and give you it at the online discoutned price. Tip with the AA Also get online quotations at 30 days, 21 days 10 and 7 and watch it get more expensive as the renewal date closes in....save all quotes and then refer them to the cheapest ! You then get the insurance at the cheaper proce
  13. However my V5 describes my VTS as a "Coupe" not "Hatchback"... :( If the two docs dont align more chance they have of getting out of a claim
  14. But complete bunch of nuggets at renewl....be warned. They tried to convince me to change my vehicle details from C4 Coupe to 3 door hatchback to get my renewl price lower. The fact that in doing this would also invalidate my new insurace was the bit they "forgot" to tell me. They also tried the incredibly hard sell tactics and told them to stick it both up their pipe. Worth the hassle of complaining as you do get something back for your hassles. Apparently the operator has gone for "re-training"
  15. North Bristol, Car locked in a garage overnight
  16. My worst quote I think I ever had was 17 year old driving 1990 1275 Mini Cooper - £1170 third party :( From what I can remember I got it down to high £600. Dread to think what the yoof of today are paying....if anything at all. I strongly suspect Mummy and Daddy are paying.
  17. Hardly an old fossil! Not even 30 yet! £340 Fully Comp with the AA - VTS 180 They have great difficulty in knowing what the car is but got there in the end.
  18. Have experienced this as well, enough to get the passenger seat to vibrate(no one sat in it).... :( Thankfully this is a v.rare occurance. After sitting in traffic yesterday on the way home the vibration has raised its ugly chops again. Nowere near as bad a sprevious experiences though...
  19. A cop shop is just up the road from me, and a speed camera in a 40 limit dual carridgeway. I have seen more times than not a pig fly past me ping the lights on as he goes through the camera and turn them off to save slowing down. Also seen Ambulances do this too.... I suspect an "ISO Environmental Proceedure" to save wasting fuel by using the brakes?!
  20. Dum de dum de dum dum dum........ oh a train! Add sound effects as you see fit Link 1 Link 2 Reverse Angle
  21. Absolutely...which is why I didnt buy a flipping 'nother Focus!
  22. You said it! Our flipping taxes buys their Elizibeth Duke bling and feeds Terrence the Staffy
  23. Errr not sure on this one.... things to think of on this one I'd guess is Splines on the arms....posistion/location may end up parking funny length of blades - make sure when swapped they dont hit the top of windscreen would imagine KFK is the guy to ask....
  24. Hey all :D I wasnt trying to get all your backs up over this however I'm free to put my point across as much of the rest of you, after all thats the point of the forum! :) I'm happy to read/listen to everone elses point of view and make my comments just as the rest of us can. :D Besides which the Wickpedia quote "argues" the point not "defines" the point, anyways isnt it written by Jo Public? So what makes them the expert ? :D Anyways I'm happy to admit that I may of got my facts wrong but thats my personal point of view. Ciaran its a forum and pointless getting your hair off, I cant hear you for starters! :D I could wind you up more saying that you obviously DO speed and you are aware of it, being that have you got all defensive about it and got your knickers in a twist over it, but being a sensible and grown up chap I wont. :D My opinion and views are my views and as much as I respect yours you need to respect mine, and not react not by getting your man boobs in the air  I'm off to get some chill pills for us all starting with a box for Ciaran and then gonna pick up the toys that have been thrown about..... :o Peace out yall...thank god its friday.....
  25. It may not be the damage to anyone that they are trying to prevent what about yourself? Perhaps they know that people will see the three lanes and open up. I dont know why they have chosen to stick a 30 limit on a 6lane road but they have their reasons. Agree that does seem a bit harsh. I'd disagree with your second comment I'm affraid Wozza <_< the limits are set because of road condition location and type. You have to remember that reducing speed limits just is a bit more than "because it saves lives" (assumption) it causes other problems such as congestion and traffic light sequencing issues which costs to rectify.....yours and our money. If they set the limit in your eyes artificially low there is more than a possibility there is another reason other than saving yours/my skin. Taking a car up until it rides off the limiter, in 9 time out of 10 cases has gone out of the power band and your power has peaked. Besides which this is digressing away from the original topic...I've said my bit! Drive safe on the limit...or not the choice is yours.
