The Samsung phones only connect to the C4 as a "headset". I know Motorola connect and permit full functionality of the handset scrolling menus signal strenght battery indicator. Wondering if its worth making a sticky with a list of phones/associated functions so that we can use it for future reference?

Happy Birthday.... Get the cakes in...

He aint getting confused with the VW Golf 1.4 TSI engine is he? <_< 1.4 engine 167bhp with supercharger AND turbocharger? Cant think what reliablity issues this may have after 60,000miles.... Golf 1.4 TSI

yeah try telling that to SWMBOID, I have countlessly told her that there is a button to press. Yes if you unlock the car and dont open any doors it will relock itself thats quite a common feature on most modern cars.....

The Insurance Settlement For My C4..........
Rich_Eason replied to Ciaran2903's topic in C4 - Technical
My guess is that it got sandwiched by a truck and a car, possibly on a roundabout and was caught in the trucks blindspot. Them airbags are not cheap :P Believe me if that was sandwhiched between a truck and roundabout it would look a lot worse than that....Been there and done it. My mini cooper was T boned on a roundabout and subsiquently turned into a two seat in-line seater. The front passenger seat came up and over my head in the drivers seat :D  Would have thought a new dash would be £££££££ -
I see what you mean now..... Engrish was never my strong point either Wozza so shouldnt worry about it
-
But the car isnt locked....the locks dont go "insert locking car door noise here" when I drive the car above 6mph. When I tried the auto lock feature there is a definate locking of car doors sound......
-
Auto Locking is not activated I tried it and got fed up with it.... OK will try that Welsh cheers....just seemed odd that it "unlocks/works" when the drivers door is opened.
-
Can see the logic Wozza, the problem these old bids caused however, is because parking was at a premium they just wasted space by parking in the middle of HUGE spots and just created more problems than solving them. Another trick of theirs was to lay wheelie bins in the road so no one parked in the spot...apart from my mate in his brown Y reg All-agro and drove over her bin.

OK this morning me and SWMBOID (She who must be obeyed in doors) had a tiff. The senario... I get the car out of the garage and drive round to the front of the house to pick up SWMBOID. I have asked her to bring out my work bag. Car unlocked. I pull up outside the house where SWMBOID then tries to pull off the boot handle trying to get in the boot. All I can hear is her winging at me through the VTS double insulated glass (thank god for that option)..."I cant hear you love" After more pulling of the boot handle and pushing the button I ping the window down and ask what is the problem? "I cant get the boot open" I open the drivers door and imediatly the boot button then unlocks the boot. This isnt the first time this has happened but is a pain in this kind of situation. Is there some kind of interlock or something that stops people opening you boot say when sat in traffic or something?

Thinking about it.... Having lived on a street where people are "obsessed" with parking this is no surprise to me that they do not move the car. People get overly protective about where they park their cars and will do anything to "claim their spot" Typical examples of where I used to live include... Pulled back the curtains one Sunday morning to see our neighbour painting their own Disabled space outside their house, however it was big enough to park a bus in it. If you parked within 10ft of it, she came out and gave you a load of grief. Another neighbour used to park so close there was literally mm between mine and her car and would have to ask her to move so that I could get out. Of course she wouldnt move as I shouldnt have parked outside her house.... Knocking at the door telling me I have to move my car as it is outside HER house. Yet it was on street parking not allocated. There was a "hard core" of wingers and I am affraid I couldnt help but tell them to "Kiss My Grit". It got to the point where nails in wood were being left by the tyres hence why we move. I have seen these kinds of actions before where people HAVE to park in a specific spot even if it isnt possible to actually get the car in. People are mad

I hope to god they are not in responsible jobs....

What about discreet screen transfers for the e.g. back window? My mate has it for his skydiving club.... Oh alot of comments from the younger generation as well, mainly Cardi Wearing ones hold the "conversations" though

Apologies Wozza but Fiats fragility just scare the hell out of me.... So you aint going to like the story of when we stole me mates Fiat Panda using a pallet truck?..... Or when my mate took a hump back bridge too quick in his Fiat 126 with surf boards on the roof and got "air"? Subsiquent landing resulted in twitchy back end and meeting a wall..... But then there is the story of his previous 2CV folding in two.......
-
Ciaran2903, you sound to me like you have more "dings" than the number 73 bus....
-
Must be a northern thing all this attention to your cars :P Look dad, theres a car! Aye son, your're right. Don't see many cars up north  I'm no further North than Bristol...! so to me that classed as South West! I parked the VTS up once and some peeps were what I though "giving me evils" because I stole their space or something. As I turned off the engine they walked over and started to comment on the car...never had I ever had that....again they were in the "knitted cardi demographic" :P

Wicked Red for me

One of my faves total confusion although have just noticed the tag of "French Handling" Crazy Fiat 126 :P :P

Was he wearing an Aran Knit Cardi? Nothing like stereotyping!

I'm in the same mind as Stuey ref the new Civic...I'm still not sure. :P The type R in the pic seems to hava a shorter nose profile but then may be the angle it was taken at, dunno looks a bit different that the other trad Civics. In pics they look ok, in real life to me.... too many conflicting angles and shapes and confuses the eyes. Where take the C4 the shapes are flowing and sinuous i get the feeling the designer of the Civic was "on one" :D when he thought the triangular exhausts went well with curved windows and rounded curved bumpers. To many conflicting shapes. Too much plastic and as Wozza points out too much "bling" on the front. I guess this is to get away from the Arran Knit Cardigan Brigade of Honda Drivers of Old. The C4 on the other hand always to me looks something special. Never driven a factory standard car where someone has always stopped and commented like I have with the VTS. I was even walking up the street the other weekend and someone had their hands cupped up against the passenger winder having a look in. Unfortunatly the age demographic of all of the people who commented could be put in the Arran Knit Cardigan Brigade of Honda Drivers of Old...does that say something for the design of the C4? :)

My mates got a Integra Type R (Original Shape) good fun cars but personally I couldnt put up with it on a daily basis. OK part of the fun of owning a car with a VTEC heart, however it is worth remembering that these cars are built with limited/no sound proofing. A trip to the shops fine, 200mile trip tests your sanity... Again ride is fine for short journeys but unless you enjoy your teeth and fillings (if you have any) hammered out of your mouth, those with falsies need apply...you have the option to painlessly remove before setting out in the Integra. And it only take 98RON and above It goes through tyres like no tomorrow Great fun, but only in short bursts and tiresome on anything other than the track. A guy in work has the new shape Integra (Imported) and looks a bit naff in the Blue......have read it is supposed to be marginally better in terms of refinement, but then isnt that point of the Integra - the hard-core unrefinment? The Images of the new Civic Type R due in 2007 look "quite nice" :P 2007 Type R

A Note With reference to the Citroen Bluetooth Kit Depending on the make of phone/type depends on the functionality of the system. Samsung D500 - you can make calls and receive calls through the kit but you have to use phone key pad, and speak through car mic. Start and end calls using phone No ability to scroll through phone book entries etc by steering wheel or dash control....just very very basic use. Motorola Pebl - Make/Receive Calls via steering wheel control, navigate phone book signal strength displayed battery condition displayed, full functionality of the Bluetooth kit. Unfortunatly these are the only two phones I have tried but have a marked comparison in the Bluetooth Kit function. This is obviously due to the way the phones are configured by the manufacture for Bluetooth

I always remember my uncles "sound advice" "You've not experienced proper driving until you had a prang..." I think about three months later my Mini Cooper was t-boned by an Artic that didnt stop at a red light comming off Jct 15 of the M5 motorway slip road. Unfortunatly Ciaran2903 there are hard ways to learn and this experience will be etched in the back of your mind for the rest of your driving life. For me I can vividly recall seeing the Mercedes Badge on the front of the Christan Salvestian lorry and the sound of skidding rubber. It makes you stop and think...Cars can be replaced. Your experiences will certainly influence the way you drive for the rest of your life

Very true! Im not sure if anyone saw the newspaper a week ago, but there was an article about country roads, and the fact that the 60mph is actually unsafe in places. A month ago i would have said that was rubbish, but after having written off my C4( :D ), i believe this to be correct. The police that came to my accident said that they get called out there all the time and that it is a very dangerous piece of road! I am not saying that the speed limit needs to be put down in all these dangerous places, but there should be some indication of the severity of danger. p.s. I was not breaking the "safe" speed limit at the time. So is that bye bye to the Oriental Blue 1.4 VTR then? Sorry to hear that if that is the case. :) Road, weather conditions, surrounding vehicles, road surfaces, junctions, the idiot overtaking the car coming the other way in your lane, Johnny running behind the creamer van, visiblity, are only a few of the factors that dictate your speed not the sign on the road telling you what speed you can legally drive at. If it says 60mph that doesnt mean drive at 60mph. The majority of drivers think they are good drivers but are we all really that "Good"?

Heavens forbid no.... :D :)
