  1. This sounds like the Citroen one the dealer fit to the front of our C3 which has a small on/off switch with a led in the switch to show when it is on. But it does not show on the car screen display, only buzzes with the buzz frequency increasing as you get nearer an object. Similarly the ones at the rear except here there is not a switch, it must work from the reversing lights and the buzzer has been stuck on a rear pillar.
  2. Welcome to the forum. If you do not have a handbook these can be seen/printed/saved from the service.citroen site http://service.citroen.com/ddb/ One for 2014 says the 3 fuseboxes are at the passenger side of the dash (looks to be low down on the dash), in the driver's door pillar, in the engine compartment. The windscreen wiper motor one is listed as in the dash fuse box, fuse 43, and 30 amp.
  3. An indexable passenger door mirror is not mentioned in any brochures for the mark 3 C5 (X7) as far back as 2009 so it may not be on the car. On our 2007 C5 with the front/rear parking sensors fitted as the parking assistance pack, the mirror selection switch on the driver's door has to be left in the passenger mirror position for the mirror to index when reverse is selected. A look in a handbook for 2011 does not mention mirrors but one for 2008 models does mention the indexing when reverse is selected - so maybe it was included on early cars but then removed to cut costs. For the electric seats the brochures state - electric front seats (slide, tilt, height, seat, lumbar, shoulder with memory for driver's seat) - but no mention of the mirrors. A quick look in a 2011 handbook did not mention the mirrors but one for 2008 does. So possibly again the mirror functions were on early cars but then removed. You can see the handbooks on the service.citroen site http://service.citroen.com/ddb/
  4. If you go the dealer route you need to get a guarantee that it will integrate with your car screen before anything is done, however, I am still not convinced these kits do that so the guarantee is important. Our 2007 C5 has front/rear sensors as standard and the screen shows a car and which sensor is detecting something as well as giving the bleeps - it is not an LED display. If you order the parts to fit yourself from a dealer, make sure it can be returned if it is not what you were expecting since special order items are usually non returnable unless faulty or the dealer has got the part wrong.
  5. Welcome to the forum. You will need to use a Citroen dealer for a diagnostic check but you could try to disconnect and reconnect the battery but do not do it too quickly. It could be one of the abs sensors is faulty since this may be used by the things apparently showing a fault to give the cars speed. Copied from the Technical section Common Problems pinned topic: Odd electrical problems caused by wrong battery disconnection procedure. If you need to disconnect the battery and not do a BSI reset procedure, I have found the following has not given me any problems on a 2004 and 2007 C5 and a 2003 C3: - remove the ignition key from the car - open the bonnet - wait a few minutes for the BSI to shut down - disconnect the battery negative terminal When reconnecting - ignition key out of the car - reconnect the battery - wait a few minutes - insert the key in the ignition and wait a minute - turn the key to the first position and wait a minute - turn the key so the dash lights come on and wait a minute - start the engine - take the windows down and up to reset the anti pinch - reset the clock (and radio on the C3).
  6. Front and rear coil spring failure is quite common on cars these days, the springs may be thinner to save weight/cost and there are lots of bumps on roads. We had a front one fail on a 2003 C3 and a rear one on a 2010 C3. In both cases they were replaced at no cost to us for both sides by the Citroen dealer. They said Citroen replace them up to about 80k miles, whether or not it is called a goodwill gesture and on the second car it had not been serviced by Citroen. On the 2003 C3 there were cups fitted at the bottom of the springs to catch it if it failed and prevent damage to the tyre and brake hose - there may have been a recall to fit these on early cars but I would have thought they would then be standard. The AA site lists recalls. Have a look on the C3 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic for a few things to check http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/20273-common-problems-rev-1822015/
  7. On ebay eolys fluid is about £40 a litre and a complete fill is 3 litres. A Citroen dealer may be more or less than this. Refilling is needed about 70 to 80k miles so if your car is not at this sort of mileage you should check the service history to see if it has been done. As well as filling up, the car will need to be told it has been filled by a diagnostic or it will give low level messages but the fluid will continue to be dosed. This is since the level is not measured but is calculated based on the number of fuel tank fills. The car needs to be told the fluid has been refilled and the level calculation reset. To do things like the eolys fluid will need a Lexia, copies are available for around £100 from ebay and easydiagnostics that are installed on a lap top. The member list able to do diagnostics is in the C5 technical section http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/20345-diagnostic-help/ The diagnostic 16 pin socket is in the glove box behind the pull off panel at the left side. If buying a code reader you need to check it will do your car with it being before 2004 but things like the eolys fluid would not be covered by a low cost reader.
  8. I put the post on for another member (sloppysod) who is thinking of fitting them and using a Citroen kit - about £290 fitted from the Citroen Accessories website depending on which dealer you use. However, these are a stand alone kit, maybe 10 times the cost of something from ebay, but will not link in to the screen as ones supplied with a new car, which had been hoped for.
  9. Welcome to the forum. You can get the Citroen service box manuals as 3 dvds to install on your pc from such as ebay and sometimes from easydiagnostics. As well as the workshop manual they include the parts diagrams and wiring diagrams. The parts diagrams can also be seen as a free service on the service.citroen site if you register as another professional and a member of the Citroen Owners Club. http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres
  10. Has anyone fit front parking sensors to a mark 3 C5 ? If so, what kit was used, cost and was it possible for it to be seen on the screen ?
  11. Welcome to the forum. What year is the car ? You could try taking the suspension up and down a few times using the switch in case the height sensors are a bit sticky. If this helps then maybe using something like wd40 on them may also help but do this with the car on axle stands - if the height sensors are knocked the car could quickly drop to a very low level. Also check the lds fluid level is ok and check all the struts for any oil leaks. On our 2007 C5 the height adjusts slightly down when you get out and close the door and then again when it is unlocked and then up slightly when you get in and close the door. Similarly if removing things from the boot the back will rise a bit and then when the tailgate is closed the back will drop back down to normal level. But it does not drop down when switching off or rise up when starting again - it sounds as if there may have been a problem causing this. Edit - see post 6 by Parkesie, this is normal for the mark 3 C5. A hard suspension could be one of the 6 spheres needs replacing. For suspension faults that you can not fix yourself, you are probably best using a Citroen garage that will understand the system and have any necessary diagnostic equipment and tools.
  12. The gaiter should just unclip around its base. A look at the new one may give a clue how it is fastened. I have not removed a gear knob before but have read you need to keep your face out of the way to avoid hitting yourself as it comes off.
  13. Somewhere in the handbook it will tell you about eco mode. Generally the time taken for it to come on depends on how well the battery is charged, so if it is only after a few seconds rather than up to about 15 to 30 minutes then I would be checking the battery voltage. At 7 years old if still the original battery, it could be due for replacing. Whilst on the forum, have a look at the C5 Technical section - there is a pinned topic on Common Problems worth looking at and give you a few other things to check.
  14. Welcome to the forum. One thing to check is if the switch at the back of the window opening switch panel is pushed down. From a handbook it gives: The electrical security is operated by pressing the control located on the electric windows control panel. This deactivates movement of the rear electric windows, sliding side doors and second and third row sun roofs. Doors can still be opened from the outside and controlled electrically from the front seat position. Note: Activation of the function is indicated by an audible signal and by a message on the multifunction display. This message is repeated each time the ignition is switched on.
  15. Welcome to the forum. This is only a guess but possibly the battery is not fully charged. Use a meter to check its voltage, should be about 12.5 volts before the engine is run and about 14.4 volts with the engine running.
  16. All the Citroens we have owned used a 17mm AF socket, preferably a 6 point one.
  17. Welcome to the forum. Which engine does the van have and how many miles has it done ? A blocked fuel filter could affect the performance so if it has not been replaced recently is something to consider. Possible causes of poor starting could include: - If the fuel filter has been replaced recently and there is an air leak the fuel could be draining back and cause difficult starting. - If the engine temperature sensor is faulty it could be giving the wrong fuel/air ratio needed for starting. - If there is a fuel pump in the fuel tank and that is not working that may give difficult starting. - A worn engine could give low compression and poor starting. - Blocked air filter. - Engine not turning fast enough on the starter motor - battery voltage low/wiring fault/starter motor fault. - Incorrect engine timing (belt jumped). - EGR valve fault so not sealing - could also give smoke during running.
  18. Approx 2 inches looks about the distance in the photo but I do not have the car to measure it. For the lack of power, are there any warning messages or is the engine management light on ? Possibilities could include a blocked fuel filter (which I think you are doing), blocked exhaust dpf, broken swirl flap actuator plastic connector at the gearbox end of the cylinder head.

Depending on which model you have, there will be a switch on the dash (possibly a snowflake on it) that switches the air con on or off. It still needs to be run for a few minutes every few weeks to circulate the oil to prevent the seals drying out and leaking out the refrigerant.
  20. Welcome to the forum. I can not help, others will though, but you can have a look in the car handbook on the service.citroen site http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres Before buying the car have a look at the C5 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic to see what things should be checked such as the steering rack for oil leaks, the windows go up/down, all the wipers work normally, road noise is acceptable.
  21. If it is the coil pack and spark plugs then at least these are easy enough for you to replace without needing a garage. Spark plugs need doing anyway as part of servicing so the only extra cost is the coil pack about £65 to £87 from eurocarparts depending on the make. A dealer part may be more. Spark plugs range from about £2.50 to £11.50 each.
  22. The air con may need regassing. I needed it doing on our last 2 C5s at about 7 years old since they were not cooling much but they had not lost enough refrigerant to not work at all. It is about £50 at a dealer or most other places.
  23. I tried google searches on 'esperanser' and 'epaloids' but could not find anything related to cars. Please could you explain what is meant. If your engine is the 2.2 hdi I suspect you mean the exhaust dpf filter has blocked and that you have topped up the eolys fluid. If so then possibly the dpf needs cleaning or replacing. You could try running the engine at about 3000 rpm for a while to regenerate the dpf or remove it and try water jetting it to remove the ash. On here the fault code definitions are: P1447 ELC System Closure Valve Flow Fault. P0380 Glow Plug/Heater Circuit "A" Malfunction - you can probably ignore this unless it is not starting in cold weather. An internet search on P1447 suggests the fault could possibly be the dpf pressure sensor - if you follow the pressure pipes from the dpf they should go to the sensor (maybe one of the pipes has come off or is damaged). With your Lexia you may be able to see what values it is giving to see if they are normal or showing it to be faulty.
  24. To get ones to match your car, you need to use your VIN (VIS) in the parts diagrams, get the part number and then you can use this on the citroencarparts.net site in the top left search box to get a price. http://www.citroencarparts.net/ The parts diagrams can be seen as a free service if you register as another professional and a member of the Citroen Owners Club http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres In the past we've had a member trying to get used seats but they are not readily available. I have edited the title to a mark 3 (X7) C5 since here it is usual for the mark 1 to be 2001 to 2004, then mark 2 to be the facelift 2004 to 2008 and then the 2008 on completely new model to be mark 3 and using Citroen's model no. X7.
  25. If you have a look on the C5 technical section there is a pinned topic of Common Problems and it looks as if yours are listed apart from the clutch. There is also a post on replacing the day running light bulbs - these are around £40 each though but can be replaced with a struggle without needing to remove the bumper. http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/20984-daytime-running-lights-bulb-replacement-and-led-option/ Have a look at the steering rack for oil leaks since this is a common problem but might be prevented by greasing the column input shaft to prevent it rusting.
