Welcome to the forum. The parts diagrams for a 2.0 hdi 90 bhp with Siemens assembly give the injector Citroen part no. as 1980F0 or 1980Y0 if > 2years old. However, this should be checked using the car VIN. The procedures make no mention of needing to code the injector to the car. The injector prices seem high at about £500 new, so you could check the cost of reconditioning the existing one or try a breakers for a used one. These people list the part no. you have given http://www.apdiesels.co.uk/diesel-injectors/siemens-injectors/ and as an example of a used one on ebay but the problem with used ones is knowing how good they are http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-CITROEN-BERLINGO-360241-2-0-LITRE-DIESEL-SIEMENS-FUEL-INJECTOR-9652173780-/361184368236 Other possibilities of smoking include an air leak and an egr valve fault.

It could be the little motors in them need replacing or the needles may have come loose and need pulling off and sticking back in the 0 mph position with the engine running and about 800 rpm. See this topic http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/15043-speedometer-repairs/ Beware that if the speedo cluster is replaced with one from another car, then your car will take on the mileage of the higher of your car or the one on the replacement speedo cluster.

New Member Says Hello To All You C5 Owners Out There.
paul.h replied to M0JFK's topic in New Member Introduction
Welcome to the forum. The tyre pressure monitoring is probably not worth bothering with and you may be able to stop the warning messages using a Lexia diagnostic tool or get a dealer to do it if it bothers you. On the C5 Technical section there is a pinned post of some of the things that can go wrong and may be worth a look. -
Could be the wrong oil has been used to refill the gearbox or the wrong amount/level. Many Citroen gearboxes do not have a level plug and to get the right amount of oil it has to be drained and then refilled through the top with the correct amount. It could be the person who did your clutch does not have the information to do this correctly.
-
Makes you wonder if something was done to the gearbox when the engine was changed, maybe the wrong oil used in it or maybe wrong oil level or the software altered - just thoughts since I have no experience of auto boxes.

Welcome to the forum. Presumably these are electric ones. Have you tried using the switch on the driver's door since there is a switch on the back edge of this one that if on prevents the back door switches working. Also if they have not been used for a long time it could be they are stuck with dirt so a helping hand may work and then cleaning. If htese do not work and yuo have a warranty then it should be fixed by the dealer.

Welcome to the forum. Citroen interior light switches usually have 3 positions, off, on for a set time when the doors are opened/closed or the ignition is switched off, on all the time. So it could be the switch needs to be in a different position. There is also economy mode - after the engine is switched off the electrics to things such as the interior lights/radio/windows work for up to about 30 minutes depending on how well the battery is charged - this Citroen/Peugoet feature is to prevent the battery going flat if something is left on.

You are probably sorted now, but if not, if it is a normal handbrake and you can not get the lever down, pull it up slightly and press/hold in the button on the end, it should now lower down to release the brake.

A further thought. The C5 tyres are 215/55 R16, you may be able to use a spare from one of your C5s and the C5 jack is better/stronger/easier to use than the one for the C4 so I would also put that and its box, wheel brace in the C4. You would just need to buy the yellow plastic wheel bolt cap removal tool (676305) from the dealer approx £3. The wheel bolts on our C4 are the Citroen standard 17mm AF. In the 2012 Citroen parts diagrams for the 16, 17 and 18 inch wheels, it gives the space saver wheel as 3.50 J16 4-10 and Continental CST 17 tyre size 135/90 R16 102M up to RPO 12418, then 125/85 R16 99M or 135/90 R16 102M if 3+2 door coupe and 17 inch tyre. However, if you check on-line these sizes could have changed.

Welcome to the forum. The diesel engines I thought were 1.6 or 2.0 hdi. You could possibly have a worn suspension joint or mounting (swivel/track rod end/steering rack), a problem inside the steering rack or power steering pump or maybe a worn driveshaft CV joint or a front wheel bearing. If your car is due for a MOT test soon, then these things should be checked then, but if it is some time off you are probably best to get a dealer to look at it unless you are able to do your own repairs/checks. Also check the wheel bolts are tightened to the correct torque (100 Nm) and the wheels and tyres are in good condition and if you have plastic wheel trims that these are not loose.
-
If your car is being ordered new, you should be able to have a spare wheel supplied including the jack/wheel nut brace/wheel bolt cap removal tool/jack box as an option for £75 according to the Citroen price list. Otherwise it will likely be supplied with an electric pump and tube of sealant in a foam plastic moulding that sits in the wheel well. A full size steel wheel fits in our 2011 C4 wheel well. Its original tyres are Michelin Energy Saver S1 205/55 R16 91V but the dealer supplied spare is a budget 195/55 R16 87V which we were assured was right. In 2012 the wheel, jack, etc cost £207 (wheel/tyre £65/78 - which is more than a Michelin now). You could look on the parts diagrams on the service.citroen site to get the wheel and tyre sizes for the model/engine you are considering. It will probably be under mechanical/transmission/wheels and tyres.

Freeborn Of Godalming - A Cautionary Experience
paul.h replied to punkieys17's topic in Citroen C2 forum
Does not sound good, as you mention, removing the undertray and wheel arch liners are all needed to do the jobs you mention. It is as though the job has not been finished off since these things would be the last bits to be put back. -
External actuators can usually be replaced on their own. Also check any hoses to the actuator are not leaking/split/especially at any connections. If your 20 mpg is just round town driving, this may be normal for an auto. Try resetting the trip computer (hold in button on the end of the wiper stalk) and see what you get under different driving conditions.

If you have the air con on the fan will run. Have you checked with the air con off ? If the fan ran all the time, even with the engine off, it could be a stuck relay. Does the temperature gauge show a high temp all the time ?

Supagard Paint Protection System
paul.h replied to citrophile's topic in General Discussion and Nonsense
We had it on a couple of cars and on the outside it helps the car stay nice and shiny and easier to clean. The cost is high so there will be a good profit in it for the dealers which probably helps them keep the car price down but is possibly why it is pushed so hard at you, as well as RTI insurance. You also get a guarantee but to keep if valid you need to use the polish kit that comes with the car - we never bothered. On the inside I am not sure if it makes a difference. If you do not need to pay for it or it gets the car price down then it is worth having. Years ago I used a polymer sealant (possibly Autoglymm) on a car and that had the same affect on improving the paintwork. In the March 2015 car Mechanics (page 63) there is a short article on paint protection and it mentions a prestige manufacturer was having problems with these sealants which were preventing the laquer breathing leading to marks and clouds appearing and then warranty claims on the £50k cars. -
Economy Icon Does Not Light When Switching On The Ignition
paul.h replied to mag's topic in C3 - Technical
Does the icon come on when the car is in economy mode (battery symbol from memory) showing the bulb is ok ? In the handbook (page 25 ?) it shows the lights that are tested on starting and includes the battery symbol. -
Good luck with the dealer, definately sounds as if the level sensor is ok from your tests.

Check the alternator is the correct one and its drive belt is not slipping. It should be a 150 amp one (petrol ones can be as low as 60 amp), if it is less than this it will not have enough output to charge the battery up. The battery should still be 14+ volts at idle. You can get faulty batteries so you could try where it was purchased to see if it can be checked. If it is down on capacity it would quickly be drained when not being charged - this is a good indication of a battery needing replacing. I recently replaced the one on our C5, the voltage would seem ok, it very quickly charged up off the car but only had enough capacity to turn the engine over slowly. To check for parasitic draw you would need to connect an ammeter between the battery positive terminal and the positive lead - you could do this before reconnecting the battery but initially for a few minutes there will be some use as the connection is made and the bsi starts up. Probably about 10 mA would be normal once the bsi stops - much more than this such as 100 mA and you will need to check all the circuits by removing fuses and using the meter across the fuse connections. Does your car have any non standard accessories such as a towbar, car phone charger, sat nav, radio, alarm and are all the lights going off ? Does ecomode come on after a while if something electrical is left on such as the radio/internal light once the engine is stopped ?

Maybe it is possible to build up the wires with solder or solder in a new section of wire so the existing connector is still used. On one of our cars the engine cover edge was wearing into a loom so I cut a bit off it.

Welcome to the forum. If in the RAC/AA/etc and have home start you could try them. Is your car a petrol or diesel ? You could try something like easystart in the air intake to see if it will run for longer - if so it may be a fuel problem. Other things you could check are if the air filter/its ducting are all clear, the exhaust pipe is not blocked. If a diesel check the fuel filter is clean and also try priming the filter to clear any air. The STOP light is possibly nothing to do with the engine - your handbook will give a list of things it could be. If you have a code reader that does live data then check for any fault codes or impending ones and check any live data to see if they seem correct such as the temperatures and fuel pressure for a diesel. If nothing shows up then you may need to have a diagnostic check using Citroen.

You could use your VIN in the parts diagrams - these are a free service on the service.citroen site, register as another professional and a member of the Citroen Owners Club. Use your VIN (VIS) in the top left to find your car. http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres The rear wheel bearings are under Mechanical / Suspension assembly / Rear axle. Like many forums, this site has a lot of members but most only want help with their problems, leaving just a few regulars who are able to help others based on their experience, free time and if they have access to information. There are other forums specific to a particular model, this one covers all Citroens but is most popular for the C5.

Suspension Pump For 2004 C5 2.2 Vtr Hdi
paul.h replied to oldsavoury's topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Welcome to the forum. There are different pump part nos. depending on the car RPO, if the suspension is heavy duty, whether the headlight height is automatically adjusted, whether the steering is variable and whether the ecu is supplied already configured to the car VIN. They are 527741 ..42..43 ... and so on to 527752. If your car is a 2004 to 2008 C5 there are even more part nos. Your best option would be to use your VIN and the VIN of the other car in the parts diagrams to see if they use the same pump. You can see the Citroen parts diagrams as a free service on the service.citroen site if you register as another professional and a member of the Citroen Owners Club. Then use your VIN (VIS) at the top left to find your car. Note the Citroen part nos. are not the same as quoted in the ebay listing, this is likely a manufacturers no. but it does not say if it is the pump or the ecu (BHI) no. http://service.citroen.com/do/changerParametres What is the problem with your pump - common things are the electrical connector is loose and the pump maxi fuse failing. Also if the pump does not run but will if an earth is supplied to the pump body, has been reported as indicating a pump fault needing it to be replaced. -
LoMi has not been on the forum since their last post 30/10/2014 so it may be better to try a message to them.
