  1. First thoughts are it is an aftermarket parking sensor buzzer and warning lights. If you look in the boot there may be some wires that look as if they go towards it. We had an aftermarket parking sensor kit put on our C3 and the garage stuck the buzzer in a top rear corner but it does not have any lights on it. In a 2003 C5 brochure though it has the exclusive model includes rear parking sensors as standard - if you have these the passenger door mirror will automatically move down to show the kerb when you select reverse gear, provided the door mirror switch is left in the passenger mirror position.
  2. Welcome to the forum. Citroen only sell a complete door card but the inner part of the handle is removable. I do not know how the other bits are fastened to the card. The gear surround is a separate part and unclips but first the gear lever and handbrake lever gaiters need removing and possibly the small glove box at the front end of it, all of which are clipped in to place so probably just pull off.
  3. The servo (solenoid) bit might possibly be Citroen part no. Actuator 661503 and costs about £55 but you should check with your VIN. If this is the right part, there is one on ebay for £34 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-106-205-309-405-605-CITROEN-AX-BX-ZX-DOOR-CENTRAL-LOCKING-MOTOR-661503-/311087584403 You could also try to free off the existing one.

  5. Which air bag is it on ?
  6. The moderators on the forum do this voluntarily and have nothing to do with any financial aspects or advertising. All the ads that come up on my pc seem to be generated by google monitoring the pc and providing ads that may be related to what you are looking at on the internet. So, the replies are nothing to do with sponsors. If the dpf is physically still on the car but it has been disabled in the ecu, then will it continue to work and dose the eolys fluid using the fix you had posted, but just not give warning messages that it has blocked up ? If not, then the dpf may appear to be still installed but it will not be working. It will eventually block up as you had noted but I have found on our diesel cars with a dpf the exhaust tail pipe is clean metal internally, on ones without a dpf it was covered in soot - so a quick check of the exhaust could indicate if the dpf is present/has been drilled through/does not work. If buying a diesel this check could save a potential owner some future bother/expense. If you had posted this topic a couple of years ago there would have been no problems and your efforts in trying to help others are appreciated. There is a topic on dpf removal here http://www.citroen-owners-club.co.uk/citroen/topic/21018-dpf-heres-the-start-of-it/
  7. I do not know if the C2 is the same as the C3, but on the C3 1.4 petrol, the wiper washer pipes can leak at joints above the injectors and also the washer jets are not sealed on the bonnet so rain water can get through and drip on the injectors. This water causes them to fail as it rusts the coils and gets into the electrical connectors. This is a common failure on the C3 and caused 2 injectors to fail on ours. To stop it happening again I put black silicone sealant under the washer jets to seal against the bonnet and fit rubber piping to the washer jets which seals better than the plastic pipe originally fitted. I also moved one joint to the side of the bonnet.
  8. All Citroen's procedures say is just remove the gear knob - so it must just pull off with a lot of force whilst keeping your face out of the way to avoid hitting yourself as it comes free.
  9. Welcome to the forum. To be clear, are you saying the coolant level in the expansion tank is going down and keeps needing to be topped up ? If so you must have a leak which needs to be repaired. This could be to the outside through a hose/water pump/gasket/air bleed cap/radiator/heater matrix failure, loose expansion tank cap or a leaking head gasket so it is going in to the engine oil or a cylinder and out the exhaust. If it is not repaired and the coolant level drops too far you risk damage to the engine. The fan running after the engine is stopped will be because the temperature of the engine is high which could be due to a low coolant level but under normal conditions could be the engine is hot due to the trip just made (such as up a long hill, slow moving in traffic) or if you are in a hot country the outside temperature is high. If your car is still under warranty it should go back to the dealer for repair if there is a leak.
  10. Thanks for getting back to us, I hope it was not too expensive.
  11. If you are going to have to destroy the lock then you could first try some heat on it from a blow lamp with a narrow flame. Maybe a previous owner has put glue in the lock.
  12. Sorry but since DPF removal is not allowed and the car would fail the MOT and probably the insurance would not be valid, this forum can not allow this topic to remain on the site. I have deleted the content of the original post. Once the OP has read this note I will delete the topic.
  13. Before I got a C5 sometimes our caravan jockey wheel would catch the floor. One particular place, the storage entrance has a slight incline off the road and the wheel would catch with the car going up the incline just before the caravan wheels started on the incline. I tried the Grayston rubber spring inserts on a Saab 900 mainly to lift the back of the car up but they affected the cars handling. I also tried heavy duty springs but again the handling was not right. If I had to do this again I would be tempted by MAD springs which go inside existing ones but they are a bit expensive at £224.60 for a C5 tourer http://mad-suspension.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=1&sort=p.model&order=ASC .
  14. Starting from cold is a classic cps failure but once it warms up it then cuts out. You will know if it has fixed the problem since the car will always start, cold or warm. There is some info here on how to test the sensor http://www.1aauto.com/content/articles/crank-sensor-testing
  15. This is from the hdi tuning web site for the Xsara Picasso and since it requires the catalytic converter to be removed it is therefore probably illegal since removal of this is not allowed under the MOT checks. The cost quoted above also is a bit misleading: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stage 1 Remap - 125 BHP This remap is designed to get the most out of your 2.0 HDI 90 engine with minimum modifications required. To run the 125 BHP remap you'll need to remove your catalytic converter as a bare minimum. For optimal results, fit a compelte free flowing exhaust system (2.375"-2.5" bore). This remap is designed to suit engines with less than 135K miles. The full power stage 1 remap will give 290Nm @ 2500 RPM and a peak horse power of 125 BHP @ 3750 RPM. This will really transform your car and make it a pleasure to drive. All remaps have been proven through years of testing and are perfectly safe for your engine to run. You can expect to see economy gains of 3-5 MPG on average. Cost: Online £99, postal service £120, in shop with diagnostics and testing £150. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I suspect the original poster is trying to use our site for free advertising (which is not allowed) and depending on any response to our posts, we may need to ban him as a spammer and remove this topic.
  16. Welcome to the forum. I would try something like wd40 in the rear door lock and then try a bit of pressure with the key to move it in both directions hoping to unseize it.
  17. Welcome to the forum. This could possibly be a faulty crankshaft position sensor. These do not give a fault code but first will cut out the engine when hot but allow it to start once cooled down but will eventually prevent the car starting. A new one from a Citroen dealer will only be about £30 so is worth a try and takes a few minutes to change. It is located at the top of the clutch bell housing.
  18. All cars have a steering wheel lock and it is now checked as part of the MOT test that it works. When you remove the key from the ignition switch, if you waggle the steering wheel so a hole in the steering column lines up with the lock bolt in the ignition switch, it will come on and the wheel will not turn until the key is used and turned a bit in the ignition switch. It may need the wheel turning a touch whilst using the key so it will unlock again. I would be surprised if this stopped the key being turned fully to start the engine, but hopefully the problem will not happen again, especially now you know about the lock.
  19. Welcome to the forum. I normally get all my parts from the local Citroen dealer, that way they are the right ones and will fit. Also they are often not much different in price to aftermarket parts.
  20. Welcome to the forum. Our C3 had an aftermarket aerial on it but when I noticed and replaced it with the correct one from Citroen the radio reception was a lot better. So if you try the correct one your radio may work. The aerials are only about £3 from the dealer so not worth bothering trying anywhere else. If this does not help you could check if the aerial lead is plugged in to the back of the radio.
  21. You can download and save a Citroen brochure from here which gives all the specs http://info.citroen.co.uk/contact-us/request-a-brochure/?_ga=1.255864270.412005775.1425578120 The one available is dated February 2015 so if your car is older than this the spec may be slightly different. The remainder of the original 3 year warranty will come with the car if buying an approved car from a Citroen dealer but I am not sure if you buy from elsewhere. Note there are two 1.6 hdi engines with 90 and 115 bhp. Depending on what you will be using the car for, you may find the 90 is a bit underpowered so you would need to compare both engines. An auto with a torque converter is listed so the ETG6 may be a piloted gear change on a manual box.
  22. If it had not happened before and then ran ok, I would think a maxi fuse had blown cutting the electrics to most of the car but it could still be the ignition switch. The brake pedal may have gone hard since the vacuum in the servo (which helps the pedal go down easily) will have been depleted by using the pedal when trying to start the car - it should be normal again when the engine runs. Looks as if it needs to go back to the dealer to be sorted. Pity your introduction to Citroen cars has not gone well.
  23. Welcome to the forum. Is your car the 2004 to 2008 model ? The parking system fault could be one of the sensors needs replacing or maybe a loose connection. ESP/ASR could be a few things such as a faulty brake switch, an abs system fault, maybe the steering angle sensor is faulty which would also affect the directional headlights - possibly you could check this by starting the car and turning the steering lock to lock to see if the fault occurs. A Citroen diagnostic check ought to find the problems so it may be best to visit a dealer. You could always try a battery disconnection/reconnection since this sometimes clears electrical problems - there is a procedure in the C5 Technical section Common Problems pinned topic.
  24. As a reminder for us, your car is a C4 1.6 petrol automatic, I am not sure of the year but it is the 2010 on model. Not sure if this applies but maybe there is some wear in the ignition key switch and the key may need turning as far as possible for it to work but sometimes it is not being turned enough. There was a case of this in a recent Car Mechanics magazine but it was not a Citroen. A new switch fixed it. Also maybe the switch internally has dirty electrical contacts and does not always work. Is the area you have parked in the same as before since sometimes there can be radio interference but this only seems to affect the remote locking ? When you turn the key and it does not start, do the lights on the dash still come on, does the engine turn over on the starter motor ? Being an automatic, are you starting the car with it in N or P and with your foot on the brake pedal - if you do not do this though there would be a warning message ? The car should still be covered by its warranty so I would mention the problem to the dealer.
  25. As far as I have learnt from this forum, you can not kid the low level warning, even by putting in a liquid in the eolys tank since the level is not measured, only calculated by fuel fill ups/mileage, hence the reason for the counter. If resetting the counter has not worked then I think on early models the controller/ecu had to be replaced to stop it - so I suspect you will need to live with the message. Eolys would still be added though if there is any in its tank unless you had the software changed. I am sure you know by now that removal of the dpf is not legal and the car would fail the MOT if the tester thinks it has been removed. A quick check on this is if the exhaust tail pipe is sooty internally - on all our cars that have had a dpf it has been clean metal so regular cleaning of this may be useful if it is now covered in soot. It may also affect your insurance since your car is not to MOT standards and has also been modified which should have been mentioned to the insurance company.
