  1. is your a estate or saloon car
  2. this icon is telling you that the imobiliser is active. youle need lexia diagnostic software to get into the imobiliser. the most common causes are flat key battery or the transpoder ring on the ignition barrel you can change both of these for under £20 so its worth trying that before paying for anything else
  3. What year is the van. and think id be checking the egr valve and pipes and giving it a good clean
  4. good write up. there a proper pain to do aswell.
  5. whats the mileage on it and whats the body work like
  6. the bumpers are made of plastic so you can rule rusting out and i doubt very much if the paint will come of any further. if its bothering you keep a eye on ebay for one the same colour as yours and there very easy to fit. so in a nutshell i wouldnt worry about it youve just giving your car a bit character now
  7. You need to find out which way he wired them up. where he got power from and what other things he done. your van has a canbus system that wont take kindly to having bits added onto it without being told. the wiring is already there for them so all you really need to get them working is foglights, fuse and diagnostic equipment
  8. well done lolly. you just keep that old girl going
  9. if the seats have been added later they might be the wrong way round on the seat base/runners
  10. Dont think you can swap them round as the airbags are on the side of the seats nearest the doors for your protection. Not sure but is there not a pin on the base plate that u press to alter the direction of the seats
  11. ford now say that once a turbo goes on a 1.6 then the whole engine should be changed. google 1.6 hdi turbo failure then take the van back and get a refund. sorry to not give you any good news but 1.6,s are renowned for turbo failure
  12. be warned the heater plugs are a pig to replace. youve either got to pull the engine as far forward as u can or think about removing the exhaust manifold.and turbo
  13. think id be changing the wheel bearing. they are pressed in so cant be tightened up. when checking you can only really check for wear and not for the bearing going dry, if you turn wheel by hand there wont be a sound as you cant turn it fast enough
  14. would go with a duff injector sticking/leaking back .Another other issue to rule out is the valves they are hydraulic and as the 1.6 is prone to turbo failure due to poor oil. get the oil and filter changed also put a flush through it and see if that helps b4 changing the injector
  15. mojfk paul is right dpf removal is now against the law/ And its only a matter of time now till the car is plugged in for the MOT to make sure the software is still in the ecu and working
  16. Was it the middle multiplug 3rd wire on the left hand side of the plug
  17. get citroen the check the universal joint at the bottom of the steering colum that conect,s to the rack. When these start to sieze up you get the symptoms of the steering wheel not centralising itself
  18. hello and welcome. Fresh blood is always a good thing for any group
  19. in one of your fuse boxes on the car there will be a fuse marked SH or sometimes its a odd looking fuse with the metal strip on the outside either way its the only one of its kind in the fuse box. This is a shunt fuse switch ignition off and remove key wait 5 mins then pull this fuse and go and have a cup of tea. Replace the fuse and then just wait till the plimp key works the central locking then start the car and take it for a 30 min drive trying to use motorways, hills and normal streets to drive down. this will reset your ecu and relearn the adaptive drive cycle,s
  20. your getting the bearings way cheaper than we can. could you pm there phone no please. timming belts are a piece of p155 too do. once you take the mounting off the enginge will go wherever you want to put it. high pressure pump dosnt need timing up so you only have 2 pulleys to mark/pin up
  21. when the seals go the rubber bellows on the strut normaly swell out or burst so you would no straight away. like i say seen this a few times on ours and u get no fault codes on and everything does what its supposed to except it just wont lift the back end. front works perfect. im assuming youve checked the fluid. My opinion is that for whatever reason a airlpck occours and by lifting with a jack it creates a vacum on the pipes and pulls the fluid through and then the pump takes over. i have nothing to prove this at all its just an opinion that has worked for us on a few cars to sort this problem out
  22. try this if youve got a tow bar put a jack under it and lift the car via the towbar with the engine running. if no tow bar then try jacking it up with one side. had this a couple of times and have no explanation as to why it happens but it just does.
  23. rear trailing arm bearings gone
  24. i read something about this las month. just another bloody tax isnt it
  25. could you put a link to the site for the software please as we struggle at times to get software so the more sites we have the better
