  1. Check the bottom rubber seal on the window as these start to corrode and apply pressure onto the runner
  2. And your quite right paul the obd port is in the glove box. for some reason i thought it was 2009 we were talking about ha ha. All other info is correct though And this method is basicly the same on most cars. you just leave the eloys system the way it is. At the moment you can download ecusafe free but ive no doubt that when it becomes popular there will be a charge for it
  3. ok here we go a quick walkthrough Go on ebay and buy a galleto lead £20 to £30 Go on line and download ecusafe Configure galleto lead to the laptop Plug in a galleto lead (lift up your center armrest/storage box and youl see a 16 pin diagnostic port) Copy contents of your ecu and save on your laptop do not use this copy for anything this is incase you make a mistake then you have it to reinstal. Now go back into the ecu and follow the instructions for ecusafe then untick fap/depolution system come out of the ecu and close it down remove the front part of the exhaust just under the manifols open it up and smash the honycombs all the way through removing as much as you can Reasemble the exhaust JOB DONE If you follow the instructions on ecusafe you wont go wrong
  4. Thanks for getting back to us sifaan its good when members post there results. would think its the cam and crank sensors theyve cleaned. For your info if you have puegeot planet software then you can plug a c5 in with it by using a puegot 406 software as there the same engines
  5. ok this is down to paul glen and john and get this spam attacks have been reduced from 3000 per month to only 700 a month. I always thought that nothing went on in the background but how wrong was i. Well done lads
  6. this is only a guess mind but i think your misfire could be a fuel supply problem as in lack of fuel getting to the injectors. Im assuming it hasnt been serviced recently.. The fuel filter for a 1.6 are around the £40 mark and only get changed once a year so you could be running around with a filter that could be up to 2 years old. so start by giving it a fuel filter change. As you look at the engine just to the right of the air filter theres a black squarish plastic box its a sealed unit so you have to replace the whole unit. Theres a couple of push fit pipes and it just pulls out with the help of 4 chinesse men with small hands. What you really need is to take the car for a drive while plugged in so you can go to live data and see what the engine is doing as its working. Next would be a leak of test on the injectors. Does it start 1st time in the morning or do you have to crank it a bit
  7. You can defap your car for les than £30 plus a bit sweat to get the fap of the car. The misfire could be anything and would need a few tools to trace it properly. And we are up in south shields so a quick blast up the A19 will get you as many plug ins as you like. Now back to the misfire do you get any lights on the dash when its happening. also make sure you use a good diesel and not the supermarket diesel as its full of silicone and the engine sensors hate it
  8. No you havnt bought a pup. What youve bought is a pig coz its got a 1.6 hdi engine that is just so underpowered to pull a c5. Do yourself a favour and sell it on and get a 2 litre. But if your commited to keeping it then youve come to the right place and well give you all the help you need. Are you any good with computers as we have software that you can run without lexia and defap the car yourself. What part of the country are you in. Your first priority is to do the timming belt as ive seen loads of them snap between once there over the 100k. Make sure you do regular oil changes and always use the correct oil (low ash) or it will eat the turbos.
  9. You can get a fully stamped up service book for a tenner so take no notice of that. And the dealer has probally taking it in part ex and just sold it on not thinking that theres anything wrong
  10. If you give me a couple of days while I go through thing in my so called filling system im sure there's a difference between a airbag light flashing instead of being on constant but I just cant remember
  11. maybe phone the or write to the previous owner to verify the mileage and what faults your having. while its hard to alter the mileage on a Citroen it is possible if you know what to do
  12. it means your going to save a shed load of money
  13. Track rod end wishbone lose ball joint steering rack lose u/j at the bottom of the steering colum Start ckecking them
  14. Myglaren good to see your still visiting the site.
  15. Quick easy way to test for external leaks. Get some washing up liquid and mix it 50/50 with water and squirt onto the injector with the engine running. if theres a leak itl froth and foam everywhere. Internal leaks require the injector to be removed and tested. you would no if you had one leaking as youd get rough/lumpy/misfire running of the engine
  16. had a few drivers that find it hard to get a reading from the dipstick. Anyway remove the dipstick wash with petrol/thinners/turps etc etc spray with white paint leave to dry overnight. All markings are still there and its a doddle to get a reading Dont know why the manufactures dont make the dipsticks white in the first place.
  17. South tyneside Snap. couldnt look at it till a week come monday due to taxi tests all next week. But if the garage that your using can take one of the o rings of ill hapily sort them out with replacement or i could drop them off to them or you can wait
  18. When we get stuck we go straight to town center citroen. Reasonable rates and work done to a excellent standaed. What your asking the garage to do is a very basic and straight forward fix and should give them no peoblems at all. A lot of garages are not to sure about citroens but if you just explain to him that youve been on this forum and that we think that there is a cheaper option and show him the o rings. They should be happy as its a easier job just changing the seals as the pipes dont have to be removed. What part of the north east are you in
  19. itl cost you more to remove the imobiliser that it would to fix the fault. but till you get a diagnostic done your basicly wasting your time.
  20. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/419-PIECE-RIC-RUBBER-O-RING-SEALS-SET-PLUMBING-TAP-WASHER-ORING-PLUMBERS-/160764223324?pt=UK_DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&hash=item256e4b5f5c Weve used these for years and have worked well on various cars including citroens. and never had a problem with them and are just so cheap
  21. Have you tried changing the battery in the key
  22. Have you got the fault codes e.g. p1111 otherwise were just guessing
  23. To depresurize the system. Take key out of ignition Wait 5 mins for ecu to go to sleep Job done
