Reversing Sensors Disabling For Towing C5
coastline taxis replied to pdjones's topic in C5 - Technical
What year is your c5 -
Thats a funny year you as thats when citroen introduced bluetooth to there cars so you mite be able to bluetooth it. if not and as yours has a sim slot i doubt it is tooth. Any way the built in phone is 2g so youl need to contact your sim provider and see what sim you have or buy a bluetooth kit for around £60.

One of my pet hates was that when the site went down there was never a explanation. So here goes there were outages yesterday due to the owner banning countrys that were infesting the site with spam so hopefully its cured now. And always being the first to complain i have to be the first to complement. So well done to gteuk (site owner) for staying up till 3.00 am today to sort it out. Hopefully thats the last of the spam steve

It stops the pump from rumbling through the whole chassis and earthing

All you doing there is bypassing the pumps info that it gets of the bhi ecu. So I would say your pump is fine as it works so Before you buy a pump check the ride height adjusters as the bhi ecu that controls the suspension pump gets all it info from these two units first. There's one on the rear anti roll bar very easy to get to and please please please make sure you have axle stands under the sills before you do. the other one is on the front anti roll bar and pretty easy to get to. Go under rear of car and you'll see a round bar going across the car in the middle youl see a round black sensor firstly check the multiplugs wiring and link rods. if no fault there then remove the link rod from the anti roll bar end (not the height sensor end as itl bend) then start engine and slowly move the link rod up and down to see if the suspension pump starts to go. Do this front and back if needed then get back to us. 9 out of 10 its never the pump

forgot to say it only happens when the key is out and ecu goes to sleep

Got a pug 406 in for repair which is really a citroen wannabe. anyway its a 51 plate 80k 2.0 litre hdi. Anyway its got us beat so hear goes the car drives perfect and does everything it should. Then switch it of and wait 5 mins and the headlights come on and stay on but if you open any door then the lights go off then after 5 mins they come back on, owner having to disconnect battery every night now to syop battery going flat. No fault codes checked fuses wiring relays etc etc Reset bsi Checked on other forums but cant see any related issues.

Quickest way is remove the fan bejt altogether and fire the engine up. If it nice and quiet then youl know its at that end so start checking the alternator and pullys etc etc. im not a gambling man but id put money on it being the clutches in the alternator have gone

Its never to late to post the answer to a problem as it will help other members with the same symptoms

Hi been away for the weekend. What was the original problem it says pump failure, was the car not adjusting itself when people were getting in and led you to belive it was the pump

Champion lets get the site back to what it used to be. Will never look at a tin of spam in the same way again ha ha
-
Your right its beyond a joke now. 3 options now 1 close it down 2 get new mods 3 sell the site to someone who will look after it. Also theres no way of getting in touch with anyone
-
hey admin/owner its obvious now that you dont give a stuff about the site or the members or you wouldnt allow it to operate the way it is. maybe its time you sold your intrest in the site or got new moderators.
-
dave your wasting your time. whoever runs the site has given up which is a shame
-
doubt youl get 30 round the town as youve got a auto box on it aswell. And the auto transmisssion is another reason to leave it alone do a quick google on the transmission

Youl need to buy a bowser and a towbar. fit towbar to car and fill bowser with petrol as they are horrendous on fuel. Get a diesel model

Done c5s for years now and should have known better. When i do a back exhaust box i just put the suspension on high and dont bother with jacks or ramps as theres more than enough room and have done it this way for years. on full go underneath undo the bolt and remove the 2 rubber hangers and the back box is off in 4 minutes and back on in in 4 minutes so whole job done in 10 minutes. Anyway went under a car just after xmas to do a box and the exhaust clamp had corroded onto the exhaust which isnt a problem as a good whack with a hammer shocks it off. so lines the hammer up and take it back to give it a good whack and next thing i know the whole car has come down on me. Id caught the ride hieght adjuster with the hammer ant knocked the link rod off. On the plus side the nhs are fixing both my shoulders free. Getting a bank loan to pay for the car parking though. so NEVER EVER EVER EVER GO UNDER A UNSUPPORTED C5

After Market Reversing Sensors- Help Please
coastline taxis replied to a topic in Questions about the Citroen C5
Done one of these last week. Its a bit fidley but easy enough. theres a rubber seal that goes round the tailgate opening pull it off and youl be able to put the wire in there . remove the cover on the tailgate and get a piece of hollow plastic tubing( we use fuel piping ) and push it up inside the tailgate and thru the rubber bellow where the wiring comes thru for the tailgate and if you pull the headlining down just a little bit and put your hand in youl feel the tube come thru. feed the wire thru the tube till it comes out the other end of the tube then remove the tube. conect the wire to the reverse lights the refit the panel and rubber seal. It was a dolphin dps 400 sensor we fitted but it kept picking the swan neck tw bar up so you might have to release the end of the towbar
