  1. ive never depessurized a one yet and to be honest if you have the patients and the tools you dont need to remove the driveshaft.the part of the subframe ther on about will be the bar at the back that holds the tray up 2x 15mm bolts either side and its straight off. its a very fiddly and twisty job due to some of the bolts being awkward to get to dont forget to renew the oil feed pipe to the turbo. once youve removed all the bolts and clips you have to turn and twist the turbo out through the bottom off the car. Once youve went under the car to start the job and had a look youl see whats what and soon have it out
  2. check youve got the right bulbs in the light cluster also have you got a aftermarket alarm or similar fitted
  3. You can buy the synchromeshes for your gearbox on ebay this would save you the worry of the box and there quite easy to do. the crunching is a very common problem on the relay due to the scuttle panel dripping water onto the gear selector
  4. take pauls advice its spot on
  5. try checking thew joint that hold the cables onto the gear selector as they sometime wear .
  6. its not as bad a job as it sounds. remove the drivers side driveshaft and the ***oops*** tray bar at the back and the exhaust clamp and the hangar bar nextc to the cat and the rest of the exhaust is just held on with hangers sounds a lot but will all be off within a hour. Stand exhausst up to drain off and remove the turbo from underneath the car 3 bolts a few jubilee clips and a oil feed pipe and its off. Make sure youve got the car well chocked up and the battery disconected
  7. thank you for coming back with the solution and glad you got it sorted
  8. Comm unit knackered. You need to remove the steering wheel then the comm unit is held on with a 10mm bolt and 3 or 4 multiplugs. But make sure the battery is disconected before attempting it
  9. seen quite a few ecu fried with the cheap lexia from china. But then again some people have no bother with them at all so id rather not say incase anything goes wrong. You can get genuine ones on ebay for £150ish second hand
  10. esp = electronic stability program Asr - traction control Youl just be guessing and wasting time and money trying to find this fault on your own as both of these systems just cover so much of the car. To go any further you have to put it on lexia diagnostic and go to stored codes and see what youve got. if the light is going on and off a bog standard code reader wont bring any faults up if the light is off
  11. The pipes that inject the eolys oil is leaking, it'l be one of the seals on the joints. as these only get used when regenerating and thats how you only get the smell when it is in regen mode
  12. years ago we used to run the taxis on lpg and back then you wernt alowed by law to touch it. its a proper specalist job and by the fact that your asking for the reset button it sounds like its been fixed by a non specalist. please just bite the bullet and take it to a proper gas engineer who can sign the job off. Otherwise you might find yourself in trouble with your insurance company
  13. I think the original poster has impecable taste in people. ha ha ha
  14. a faulty alternator will give you loads of phantom faults. if you can clear all the fault codes and see if any come back. if you cant then do a bsi reset and see if that sorts it.depending on which way the alternator was removed a washer pipe could of be knocked off. open the bonnet and go the the drivers side hinge and youl see a black tube make sure its pushed into the bottom of the rubber strip that runs across the bonnet
  15. paul got it right youve had the wrong watage bulbs in
  16. How did you depresurize the system ?.
  17. If you open the boot/tailgate and pull the rubber sealing trim off where the ariel is youl see a gap just push the headlining down a bit and your hand will fit straight in.
  18. What year is your car and have you done anykind of work to it
  19. The door card is the panel that cover the door interior and has the window switches and handles in it. ha ha well done john
  20. this is a common fault on a c5 and not so common on a c4. theres a topic on here ( i know cause i wrote it) on how to open the door when its like this. The problem is when im doing a search for it to add a link for you i cant find it. paul or john will be along soon and post the link for you as they are way more savvy than me with the pc
  21. And thank you for getting back to us with the fix to the problem
  22. couple of things check the plastic rocker cover where the cap screws in to make sure that its not broke. If thats ok then id be checking for back pressure on the engine
  23. Get the car plugged back in and see what codes you have now.
  24. If you pull the headlining down a bit youl see a wire with a nut on it remove thw nut and pull the ariel off. youl see a perrished rubber oring type of seal, take it to any discount or diy shop and theyl sell you one, replace the lot and the jobs done
  25. for the price of a blank disc just give it a go. Please post the outcome though as it would be usefull to know
