Some garages use a UV sensitive dye in the water. You can then see it with the right UV fluorescent. Check the cooling system has been properly bled. If it just lost the water once as has already been suggested then it wasn't bled properly.
I have always regretted leaving Michelin or Dunlop on PSA cars and going to budget alternatives except when I bought Marshal Matrac XMs. Avons always pulled to one side or the other. Never again. I would suggest that you get your last brake test out from the MOT - sometimes you will find a that the brake drag figures when the brakes are off can suggest a solution to you.
Windows and sun roof shut on rain detection. You can get this turned off by a garage with the right diagnostic. It's still turned on in software on my car and it likes to shut windows and sun roof when it detects any significant amount of rain. I thought I'd stick with it.......................
I'd be inclined to give the height sensors/correctors a little squirt in case they are little sticky and causing the car to ride slightly high. If you are sure that the height correctors aren't sticky, then it may be worth your while measuring the ride height. Slightly too high will make for harder suspension.
I have a gut feeling this might be a crankshaft position sensor problem. Sometimes they go slightly high resistance...... had problems like this on at least one car and one motorcycle....
Hi Steve, Is this the link you mean? C5 Rear Suspension Stuck In The Up Position If so then it has links to other threads where the pictures are. To post a link you will need to open a reply then click the green button that is 6th from left in the line just above the text box that starts with b i u. Paste the link into that box then give it a title.
The engine is not running and the battery is totally disconnected. You are touching -ve to+ve to remove and remaining voltage held up by capacitance and guarantee total clearing of all old values AIUI.
Sounds like the sensor is Donald Ducked. However, I would try and take the system up and down a few times on the height control buttons inside the car. Also, if you have sport mode, try turning it on and off.
It may be that the height sensor/height corrector is stuck. Try squirting it with some WD40. HEALTH AND SAFETY WARNING - If you crawl under the car to do this then you might succeed and the car drop on the suspension trapping you with potentially fatal consequences. Squirt it. Leave it. Try going up and down on the suspension a few times after a 3 to 4 hour WD40 soak in. Let us know how you get on. The other thing that could have happened is that the rear height sensor has become detached from the anti roll bar. Check it's still attached. See Health and Safety warning above.
Yes. Usually when you have reporting valves they are only on four out of the five wheels you have. The spare usually has NO reporting valve. When the spare gets used the wheel with the reporting valve gets left in the boot storage area and goes flat. Check that the reporting valves are all on the wheels actually on the car. If in doubt, make sure the spare has no reporting valve and if it has inflate it. HTH. Footnote: This is my own personal experience, from when I was running the car with the spare wheel in use.
I must be missing something here but why not check and clear out the EGR valve and all the tubing/piping associated with it? Is there a sensor that's measuring this particular value that might be faulty?
Sorry, sigs are only visible after log in, I only ever log in if I have to reply to a message, so mostly don't see sigs. You should be fine as your car, i.e. petrol had to comply with EOBD from 2001 onwards. Try it and report back?
It's quite noticeable in mine, but yours might be a newer model. What exact year and model? I bought a simple scanner like this for my 2002 2.2 HDi but it's too old and an EOBD scanner would not work - to be sure it needs to be a diesel post 2004? What model and year is your car?
