I know some things are really barmy the way they build things its as if they know you will have problems changing things and hope to push you to the dealers to rape your wallet, at least you didn't give in to that con trick but there must be an easier way like removing the headlight unit or undoing it to aid you getting in there?.

My Back Suspension Will Not Stay Up.
techbod replied to BML's topic in Questions about the Citroen Xantia
they should have done a proper job and sorted the suspension out when they did a repair without the excuses like it would cost a lot more to sort it  it seems they didn't bleed the system which takes no time at all if they were proper mechanics and not expensive  its in the heynes manual and all you do is rais the suspension to full hight then down to bottom then undo the 12mm bleed nut one turn only to let the air out and do it a couple of times till the suspension is right. -
unfortunately you need the code im assuming its the key pad?
-
if it has a key pad it has an immobiliser? newer cars have very sophisticated systems installed and diagnostics required
-
problem with dealers regardless of make they never have it on the shelf it has to be ordered.
-
you need the interface and it wont work with anything else, some others to check out are memoscan 318 for the pre 2001 and 581 for the later ones they read all the engine management and auto tranny ( tried and tested ) and much better than some of the more expensive ones, ive used the 381 on quite a few car makes without any problems but lexia 3/planet 2000 cant be beaten because it does all the electrics on the old an new even resets your rear-view mirror but doesn't scratch your back  all can be bought on ebay and not bad prices. and it does diesels
-
well you know me by now and the diesel isn't on my list I like silent running and this is really silent and powerful

Diesel Additive Ecu Counter Reset Anyone?
techbod replied to Phlash's topic in Technical Section - C8
late but worth an answer, a mate fitted a part from an old turbo he rang me from coastlines place a while back and it was successful perhaps he will remember because I think he either bought a car from him and went up there to see him ( it was a pug though ) but still the same engine -
£199 of fleabay and im back and only insulted a dealer a couple of times lol. ill be in and out of the site for a while but as my pug is still PSA im still interested in the Citroen's because they use the same engines so they tend to suffer the same fates, I went for the petrol 3.0 exe 2005 estate SW model then recently saw the Citroen version and its almost exactly the same apart from the badge
-
im the same been way too occupied but soon getting everything sorted, my motor took a turn for the worse so had to let it go  now got a pug 407 ( still PSA group :D ) and a nice motor indeed and ive bought the lexia 3/planet 2000 diagnostic interface which does pugs and Citroen's.
-
so my DS is worth 2k well guess what they can stuff that right up their a-ss.
-
side lights lol they are a bayonet fitting so doesn't matter which way they are connected its like a switch on and off. Xenon could be different though ive never played with them.
-
enter the code so it activates the immobiliser then change the code C is change and S is store
-
if the engine cant breath then there is a blocked/weak vent pipe and the result will be over pressure which means the oil isn't getting round the system, things to consider are oil/filter change has it been done regularly? otherwise its could be a sludge problem and the oil pick up could be blocked which would reduce oil pressure.
-
the drive shaft is a one and all unit so you need a boot spreader and a flex C/V boot about £9.00, the problem with these drive shafts is there not like the vauxhall type where you can knock with a hammer the bearings are part of the half shaft/drive shaft, you could look on eBay for a cone which is cheaper but a pain.
-
the misting is probably down to failing shocks so they need chainging also could be failing seals
-
the diesel isn't that impressive even with a turbo it puts you in the ball park as a 1.8/2.0 petrol engine none asperated so its down to what you want? mpg/power ;)
-
nothing is simple nor easy but in your case I would suspect the cables BUT it could be simple like the cable needs tensioning
-
the codes would have been nice
-
tracking mate have it checked its free

is it worth a repair one must ask? are airbags safe? what did we do before they were fitted? why is is it not mandatory in the UK, 1/. they cannot be considered reliable because the only way to test them is in an accident and 90% don't deploy when they should ( look at the breakers yards for this result ) you will get a shock, 2/. why do only very expensive cars have a proven kit what wrong with ordinary people?,, 3/. do they do the job and what are seat belts supposed to do. I call it a safety overkill and only the makers make cash out of it ( ask them to put a guarantee on them and they would pass out

http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...t%3D21%26um%3D1 That's a picture of the ignition, to remove the barrel take the plastic cowling off then turn the ignition to first auxiliary position ( as the key is still in there you should be able to turn it by inserting the rest of the key ) now if you look on the barrel at 1 o'clock that facing the dash so at the rear of the barrel, you will see a small hole to insert a thin pin this releases the barrel so you can pull it out then all you have to do is remove the broken part and use another key

replace the coolant temp sensor

Are Manual And Digital Climate Controls Interchangeable
techbod replied to al8888's topic in C5 - Technical
nope its not that simple :o -
I doubt it will work ( depending on the age of the car ) the newer it is the less of the chance due to diagnostics and setups very expensive and better to replace with aftermarket ( steering wheel buttons are gizmoes and fancy ) that's all
