The driver's side headlamp washer comes out, sprays the headlamp but doesn't want to go back without a helping hand Anyone know how these work - do they return by a spring , water pressure oe electric ? I suppose I can get at it by taking the bumper off and the headlamp out ? I can live with it but I like all things working properly

So what they are saying is to do the oil change the proper way !!

Can overfilling damage the pump ?

I'll have to make something up to do that

It seems C5's are very sensitive to battery condition and once it starts losing it's capacity ,all sorts of odd faults spring up

Wheel centering device ? Never seen that . I normally use a No 3 Phillips screwdriver

I had mine regassed twice by Kwik Fit and it lasted a week .Got a mobile expert out who put in some anti-leak additive which " rejuvenates the seals " and he told me to run it with aircon on for 30 mins a day for first week or so to enable the additive to take effect Touch wood, so far , so good

I'm quite impressed with the Skoda Superb Estate but by the time you add all the bits I've got on my C5 as standard , it's no longer a cheap car . Only "new" C5 estates for reasonable £'s seem to be 1.6 Hdi VTR+ and the experts here are saying the engine is not man enough for the job

Cleaning the pads and putting copper grease on the backs stops mine squeaking for a year or so Don't think my calipers have shifted

Aftermarket kits are much cheaper than Citroen fittings - about £25 for a kit on EBay

Is this car new or new to you ? If brand new, take it back and ask to compare with another new C5

I'd be surprised if the French have achieved German quality and reliability ( which may be a myth anyhow ) Seems Citroen think they have gone upmarket simply by not discounting the prices any more or as much Plus the new C5 is lower specced than my Mk2 which has Zenon directional headlamps , electric folding mirrors , parking sensors front and rear etc etc When I got it , it was a cheap car with all the extras, a new C5 would be expensive and less well equipped

Mine have a round central insert but the ones I've seen on Ebay are round but with flat top and bottoms - are they interchangeable ?

I find the new C5 cramped - I'm 6'2" 20+ stone . With the driver's seat right back as it would have to be , there's no room for anyone to sit behind. Plus if I wanted German styling I'd buy German ! I'm very attached to my 2006 C5 and what to replace it with for sensible money is quite a problem Mine's only on 70K miles so I hope it's got a few more years in it yet

I think I would put on record that the car is not of merchantable quality so you can reject it and go for a refund The longer you leave it , the harder it will be

I had one fail and took it to an independent with a Lexia to find out which one I've sinc been told that if you listen very closely you can hear them clicking if they work so the silent one is the one to change I've never found any S/H on Ebay

I've got the same question - maybe we've been after the same seats on Ebay ? We know hatchback and estates seats are the same but what about series 1` and 2 seats ? I've heard the wiring plugs are different

Top photo isn't the phone microphone _ I think it's the ultrasonic detector for the burglar alarm(my car has these) Most car kits don't use the aerial these days and most are bluetooth .I suspect your's is an old Nokia kit

Sorry but what did you wash ? The engine or the particle filter ?

Pleased to report that my repair on mine is still working Only problem was finding tape to stick the wire to the glass - I used sticky aluminium tape in the end .Duct tape didn't last

You say "over the years" but this is a 2010 car ? Might be worth a complaint to Citroen

Is this brand new ? I'd suggest changing the oil at 10K intervals and not leaving it till 20K

Has the dealer done a diagnostic test or is he working by guesswork ?

If you push it down , does it lock out reverse gear ?

I'm wondering what to replace mine with , too . New C5's are far too expensive and the spec is far lower . Citroen should stick to what they are known for - good value cars at sensible prices .If they want to go German style and German prices , they need to up the game with their customer service
